Let me clear your doubt Firstly, There is wrong definition of stroke volume in NCERT which confuses. Below is the right definition of stroke volume Stroke volume (SV) is the amount of blood pumped from the left ventricle of the heart during each heartbeat. We don't consider amount of blood pumped from right ventricle as stroke volume. Hope it clears your doubt. Additional information for curious people like you. Before ventricular systole there is actually 120 ml of blood in left ventricle. After ventricular systole only 70 ml of blood is pumped out to the lungs. 50 ml blood still remains in left ventricle, which means left ventricle never gets fully emptied.😊
