I fucking loved being a teen in the 80s in Chicago. The music scene was unmatched. Many a bloody show at Metro, Ministry at the Riviera and Aragon...my favorite concussions were obtained at these venues.
There would be local bands play at the local VFW. They would have a show once at a particular VFW, ONCE. The place would be destroyed.
Lots of creativity in these songs, brilliant punk scene!
Really good documentary. Thanks for uploading the soundtrack 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
The original version of Surf Combat, wow.
I was there and am in the film!!
That's cool... I just came across it yesterday.. it's free to watch on the streaming program called "Tubi" where in the film are you by the way?
@@louidivine3140 I appear throughout the film. I was a promoter and ran tours from 1977 to 1984.
@@ekolke THE LEGEND KOLKEY CHICAGO LOVES YOU
I was there, but couldn't find anything until the mid 80s,I was in Milwaukee back then seeing the Violent Femmes and Couch Potatoes for like 2 dollars.
Forgot about out of order!
Still a good list!!
I fucking love Mentally Ill and Nadsat
I was really happy jello Biafra re released the gacys place album
It was MILWAUKEE that had Wendy O Williams & the Plasmatics police mess and the police BS with GG Allin. Getting drunk on cheap AND good beer and being in these mosh pits was MY late teens to early 40's. I worked as an Iron Worker and invited my crew to many shows. The only guy that was life-loving enough to show every time was some black guy that always competed with me to my face at work everyday. I grew to protect him and really respect and love him like a brother. Even though we did not like each other. When you find a kindred spirit in Punk: NOTHING else could stand in the way.
My dad's the Buzzards drummer.
@Tommy445 tommy my nigga

No Skafish in the compilation?
DA!
Totally, there is a lot of great stuff on here but DA stood out to me instantly while watching this doc back when it came out and I was is HS. The atmosphere is intense and incredible, its awesome that they were completely satisfied with doing their own thing.

Wait!!! Where's the first song?
WZRD Chicago 88.3 FM The wizard
I was there.
what song is the first one?
No. I wasn't there. I was too busy enjoying better bands and a better scene in Milwaukee. Milwaukee preferred the hardcore sound they invented. (See Die Kreuzen).Last saw them with Husker Du at Century Hall. That's the same place where I discovered Da BoDeans, yeah? The hardest working showmen to ever his stage. They delivered clean pure POWERFUL fun ride of rockabilly with their own unique kinda punk edge. Sweating like stuck pigs up there on that stage. Code Blue is THE compilation.
Can you put up the actual documentary? I can't find it anywhere, and I don't live in America so I can't buy it.
+JCN 3 You can't buy it from Amazon? It's the only way I was able to see it.
chris furius 30 dollars shipping, and handling...lol for a 20 dollar doc? I mean that's crazy. I get it though that you might not have known that.
Oh yeah, totally ridiculous price. I really meant a rental/purchase, not the physical DVD itself. I should've noted that. If this one was ever up here, I never noticed it. I've downloaded docs here like the Amebix one, and the Boston HC one, both disappeared rather quickly. So I rented(or bought, can't remember) from Amazon.
You can rent ($4.25) or buy it ($9.25) at vimeo.

Yeah, if the makers had no problem with the soundtrack being posted, why can't we have the film too?
