I’m definitely not a rap fan. I’m a 54 year old woman who watches trials as a hobby. The hype will die after the trial and a new one will pop up in its place. Granted, the jury hasn’t seen a majority of the chaos we’ve seen but, they’ve seen Glanville, Love, and a few defendants just disappear without reason. They’ve seen state attorneys get admonished, state witnesses get arrested and be uncooperative. They’ve seen state witnesses take weeks that should have taken days and have seen and heard about severely botched investigations and the abrasive behavior of the states last witness. That’s all pretty significant. Also, the defense not putting on a case in chief being perfectly strategic because of all the time that has been wasted. If there was ever a case worthy of jury nullification, it’s this one. Regardless of if there’s a guilty verdict, recognizing that an appeal would take longer than most, there’s definitely many reasons to win an appeal.
