I watched 2 different youtubers review this Space Jam Low... one of them said "Oh I hardly even noticed they did that Jumpman Jam thing - someone pointed it out on my Instagram. No clue why" vs Chris who dives into a history of the release and how this was true to the original before jumping into a deep dive on the carbon fiber shank plate. Its like having your server at Outback tell you a wine to drink vs a sommelier pick and describe the perfect pairing. Chris is a true "Shoemelier"
So true! You can kinda tell when a reviewer is just repeating something they heard vs someone who actually remembers things and double checks to make sure they remembered right.
for the sophisticated sneakerhead, Chris is a must-watch. He loves em all but doesn't hype em up like others. He has the most historical knowledge and artifacts to back it up.

You nailed it other youtubers have no understanding of the history of this sneaker. They are comparing it to the recent space jam which is just a gimmick by nike for the movie and not the OG from 2000
I had the OG 2000 pair (Easy double up at the time as I worked for Finish Line) I sold both my pairs some years later when the sneaker game was dormant. Always regretted selling. Every pair released since has failed to live up to those originals. Happy to see the royal and Jumpman Jam back on these, even though they’re lows. I’ll prob cop but still waiting for those OG mids to drop again one day.
Great question of the day , really got me thinking about the possibilities. Too tough for me to narrow down to a sneaker Mt. Rushmore. Slightly different but what i could name is a sneaker golden era , which to me is 1995-1997. Jordan 11s , 12s and 13s - 11s and 12s my all time favorite Jordan models and all game changing releases. Some iconic Air Max models released during that time as well and the Foamposite's OG release. To me those were all ground breaking releases and some of the best ever imo. Also even Reebok's Question and the first Griffey's both released in that time period as well. Those were the days.
My personal Mount Rushmore -Chuck Taylor -DJs all leather -Adidas Superstar -Air Force 1s You have to start with the genesis Chuck Taylor. The Converse DJs introduced the leather basketball shoe. "Superstar"(Molly Shannon reference) the herringbone the most important grip pattern in the game. Air Force 1 (my favorite) gave us Air. Everything we see today is a derivative of these.
Agree with these. I was thinking DJs also but they tend to get left out of the conversation. AJ1s have been so pervasive in terms of enduring success, but the Mount Rushmore are the Js' forefathers

Thai might have been the most intense and accurate sneaker Mount Rushmore all while being entertaining video I’ve seen in a while lol, well done you guys.
Great video as always. The 4 that i'd put on my mountain 1. Air Max 1, Air Tech Challenge II, Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 3. I've gone with iconic/meaningful to me
My Mount Rushmore that I owned in my lifetime are: 4. Chuck Taylor Converse - Its iconic and my daily driver from HS thru College back then. 3. AND1 Kevin Garnett - I am a fan of Garnett when he is playing and seeing his shoes and owning it is mindblowing. 2. Reebok Iverson 3 - Its the most common shoes in my HS school and at P.E. my classmates rock those including me. 1. Air Jordan 1 - No contest! its everybody's dream shoes who idolized MJ, as a kid I always wanted one but can't and now owning one of those badboys as a full grown adult is breathtaking. As soon as I open the box and put it on my feet I'm speechless.
I agree with everyone else. You and @Talks with TJ are the only sneaker reviews that I respect. Tj wears kids sizes so it doesn’t always translate but the reviews are always honest. I’m always gonna check in before I pull the trigger on new shoes because I never purchase in person and I don’t like surprises. You are greatly appreciated bro
1. Chucks is all we had in early 70's. The sole, the grip was fantastic. Had to wear 1 low top on the jump foot(left foot" for flexibility. And one High top for support on the right foot. 2.Adidas high top is what started "that looks good and sounds good, screech on the gym floor" for sneakers. 3. Jordan Hare was the beginning of the hype on sneakers. 4. The concord 11's sealed the deal on "I gotta have that shoe."
For the algorithm! Been here since the days of the hyperfuse and the hyperize (remember that abomination?). I don't play basketball at all anymore so I didn't follow the channel but coming back now I realised that I liked the performance reviews just as much as matching Chris talking about anything basketball related. Keep it up!
My personal Mt. Rushmore would be: Chuck Taylor (the original) Adidas superstar (Run DMC) Jordan 4 (Do The Right Thing, the start of sneaker culture/hype) Foamposite 1 (Mike Bibby in the 97 national title game, first time I felt like “what is he wearing?” during a game)
I do really like these XI lows, I have a solid selection of XI lows for the summer ; though might risk circling back on these, with my eye on other pickups this month. I really want another Space Jam XI High to retro again tbh. I have only one wearable pair of those left at the moment and they are worn to death. And considering next year i believe will be 9 years since their last retro and there are some patterns of the Highs coming soon after the lows with XIs. Ideally at some point in the next few years we should get another Space Jam XI High release. And honestly those are one of my all time favorite Jordans (on one of my favorite models).
I was looking for shoes for my son today, stumbled onto the fact that Nike was releasing these on May 18th and found this channel along the way. I've been trying to get a pair of 11's for nearly a decade, I refuse to buy them through secondary prices....principality Smokey! HA HA! Seriously, I am gonna try my a$$ off to get me a pair of these later this week!
Jordan 12 gotta be on the list. The introduction to zoom air in jordan brand, carbon shank, EVA, and leather. Not just that but around the 1996-97 were other players wanting to get a piece of them, so much so you see Scottie wearing em, GP, College Players, etc.
EVA, Leather, & Carbon shank were introduced in other Jordans. The 11 introduced the ballistic mesh, patent leather, and the carbon shank. It's probably the most new tech in a single Jordan
I’m already 50, but I’m still buying basketball shoes because this the only time I can afford back in the youger days can’t buy anything. Keep it up bro. From Philippines
Chuck Taylor Pro Keds Royal Suede Adidas Superstar Jordan 1 Hard to leave out 11 but cannot omit any of these 4. Played and lived in them all. So many good memories.
I have the original 2000s , despite a little glue they are holding up really well, for 25 years. Even the patent leather shines . I will hold for as long as I can as no other "space jam" comes close ...
My Mt. Rushmore: Puma Clyde, Adidas Super Star, Jordan 1, Foamposite. The reason is that the Clyde was the first signature shoe that tied basketball with street wear. The super star tied sneakers with hip hop with Run DMC and b-boys. The Jordan 1 tied all three together (street wear, hip hop, and sneakers). The foamposite because it changed the way and materials that could be used for making shoes. If foamposite was not successful in being manufactured, we don’t get the sneakers of today. Thanks for the videos and this question is really cool.
My Sneaker Mt Rushmore: 1. Converse Chuck Taylors. The OG. Still great today as a casual and is a huge part of fashion and skate culture in addition to its basketball legacy. 2. Nike Jordan 1. Revolutionized athlete endorsements and ushered in a new era of sneaker culture, the game, fashion, and pop culture in general. People were literally killing each other over these shoes. 3. Nike Jordan 11. Huge cultural significance ('96 Bulls 72-10, Space Jam, Jordan's favorite shoe) and tech (full zoom air, patent leather looks incredible but also provides great containment and support, full carbon shank/spring plate was huge new advancement - shoes are still playable 30 years later). Best silhouette to dress up or down casually, can go with anything, and still kills it on the court. 4. Nike Air Force Max "Fab Five" (Black/Cool Grey) - love 'em or hate 'em, the Fab Five signaled a new era of college basketball where players could make an instant splash as a group of freshmen, take over the game, and leave early for the pros. They also transformed basketball culture with long baggy shorts, black socks, trash talking, and just general swag. These were their signature shoes, even though they were technically Charles Barkley's model. Sorry Sir Charles, but the college kids changed the game and put these on the map and that's why they occupy the final spot in my Mt. Rushmore.
11s have always been a personal favorite. For many years, it was the only Jordan I would ever buy. The adapt 11 is a new version of my favorite. Space Jams and any OG color way are a must have. I had the OG Concords, Breds, and the Columbia Blue. Great history on the 11 also.
I almost bought the CMFT 11 lows to satisfy my itch for this. I am glad I listened to my intrusive thoughts for once and waited for these bangers to finally release. My Mt. Rushmore would be in no order Nike dunk low panda, Nike Air Force 1 low, Yeezy 700 wave runner and Jordan 11 low. All of these are beat to hell for me. Work/dogwalking/weekend stunting….❤
Chris I just wanna say your vids are fn priceless man!!!!!!! You and the Mrs do a phenomenal job!!!!!!! Lot of these vids help me to base whether to buy or pass and when I was broke when these released last weekend I couldn't believe my eyes when I found em in stock on hibbet city gear yesterday mornin in my size 13..... on fn payday... let's go ... ahahahaha!!!!
I'm hoping they do something special next year as it will be the 11's 30th anniversary (1995 FYI), so hoping for Concords or Breds! Those are my Jordan grails!
Maybe give either the grattitude (dmp rerelease treatment) patent leather/metallic jumpman! Id be down for that on a pair of space jams call them “Tune Squads” and breds “Born and Bred”
My Mount Rushmore of shoes (not following your rules sorry): Adidas Tmac 2 (first sneaker I remember wanting to have in middle school) Nike Hyperdunk OG (High school team shoe that led me to playing in "Hypers" through college) Curry 4 Low (This shoe didn't make much sense from a build standpoint, but it became one of my favorites of all time) Air Max 1 (because duh)
JUMP MAN JAM @weartesters “dat boy is good”.😊 I will forever watch any reviews you have on Jordan & Nike Basketball shows. Your one of the best at what you do
awesome video! nice deets about the spacejams actually being space jams, super detailed tech specs and history and probably the goat of your question of the day portion. heheh
My Personal Mt. Rushmore of basketball sneakers: 1. PF Flyers(wouldn't have the Converse All Star without them) 2. Converse Weapon(Magic and Bird went to war in these) 3. Jordan 11(introduction of new tech that is still used today) 4. Kobe 4(most current basketball shoe designs are influenced by this model)
Chuck Taylor, Adidas Superstars, Puma Suede, Jordan 1. All were cultural movements, all kicked down doors and all are still completely relevant as when they first came out.
My Mt. Rushmore of Sneakers in basketball terms 1. The Jordan 12(Full Length Zoom Air in a shoe) 2. The Kobe 9 (Greatest Traction every out on a shoe. The foot print was insane) 3. The Foamposite (The idea of the mold plus the tech inside the shoe) 4. Chuck Taylor (Idk how the older generation could play in these 😭, but I know they were insane when they came out)
My Sneaker Mt. Rushmore Chuck Taylor - The Granddaddy of sneakers Air Jordan 1 - If this did not come with the black/red, then bball sneakers would probably still be all white/white base. Air Max 1 - Visible Tech. I mean, no explanation needed. Adidas Energy Boost - Literally paved the way for adidas to be relevant in the mid 2010s (in my observation) vs nike/jordan. Also changed the game in terms of foam midsoles at the time.
I’d love to see a collection/closet video from you. You always say that you don’t keep much but your sentimentality comes across in your content so I know you could do a good one.
Top 4 for this 50 year old. 1. Adidas forum high 2. Jordan 2 3. Nike Air Max 1 4. Reebok question red toe. Hard for me to leave off Nike terminator highs, air revolutions, and Air Force 1s.
My mom had gotten me the space jams for Xmas that year. She said she just walked into finishline and asked what the newest Jordan’s out and they told her those. (I was lucky to be getting Jordan’s since 2nd grade with the playoff 6’s) and I won my only 🏀 trophy in those during intramural basketball 😂 hit the 2 clutch 3’s to give us the win by 1. I’m mad that I beat them up so bad and they eventually became my yard work shoes 🥲 hurts my “sole” now to think about it. Great memories though.

Rushmore.
I came for the review but stayed for the banter 😂…loved this one! Alright, it goes Converse All Stars, Shelltoe Adidas, Jordan 1 & New Balance 990
Uh ohhhhhh I didn't know they added the "Jumpman Jam" tag! I was already planning on getting these but i'm def grabbing em now!
11s have always been a personal favorite. For many years, it was the only Jordan I would ever buy. The adapt 11 is a new version of my favorite. Space Jams and any OG color way are a must have. I had the OG Concords, Breds, and the Columbia Blue. Great history on the 11 also.
Columbia* 😁
Thanks!
This episode’s ‘the more you know’ info was legendary!
What are the CMFT's?
@Tvo281 A lifestyle version of the 11s, it has Cushlon in the midsole.
Chris had such a fair take on the Mt. Rushmore question. #Respect
Once again brilliant, went so far down the rabbit hole the cameras started turning themselves off 😂😂😂
Gotta love watching this channel 😂 exciting, funny and knowledgeable
The 11's r really so dope to this day love them we called them tuxedo Jordan's and 12's r awesome also
A lot of corners cut for a $190 low top, but i still can't resist getting them.
Love AJ11 as a young fella. I will own a pair one day 😅
Chris I just wanna say your vids are fn priceless man!!!!!!!
My low IE pair lasted 12 years. Remember selling them on eBay and still making $100. Those were the days
i always thought these were an OG colorway. Learn something from Chris all the time 😉
These look more beautiful than i thought for all black. Great review as always 🎉
The shoe profile is marvelous. I love this shoe...
OMG BROO SPACE JAMS!!! its literally my favorite Jordan Retro but darn low 😢
🔥🔥🔥 making the space jams a low top is choice. Great looking shoe the used good materials and it’s still nostalgic. Love em
My Mount Rushmore of shoes (not following your rules sorry):
Adidas Tmac 2 (first sneaker I remember wanting to have in middle school)
Nike Hyperdunk OG (High school team shoe that led me to playing in "Hypers" through college)
Curry 4 Low (This shoe didn't make much sense from a build standpoint, but it became one of my favorites of all time)
Air Max 1 (because duh)
JUMP MAN JAM @weartesters “dat boy is good”.😊 I will forever watch any reviews you have on Jordan & Nike Basketball shows. Your one of the best at what you do
awesome video! nice deets about the spacejams actually being space jams, super detailed tech specs and history and probably the goat of your question of the day portion. heheh
My Personal Mt. Rushmore of basketball sneakers:
1. PF Flyers(wouldn't have the Converse All Star without them)
2. Converse Weapon(Magic and Bird went to war in these)
3. Jordan 11(introduction of new tech that is still used today)
4. Kobe 4(most current basketball shoe designs are influenced by this model)
Chuck Taylor, Adidas Superstars, Puma Suede, Jordan 1. All were cultural movements, all kicked down doors and all are still completely relevant as when they first came out.
My Mt. Rushmore of Sneakers in basketball terms
1. The Jordan 12(Full Length Zoom Air in a shoe)
2. The Kobe 9 (Greatest Traction every out on a shoe. The foot print was insane)
3. The Foamposite (The idea of the mold plus the tech inside the shoe)
4. Chuck Taylor (Idk how the older generation could play in these 😭, but I know they were insane when they came out)
Stoked on these!! Thanks for the review Chris!!
best yt about shoes
My Sneaker Mt. Rushmore
Chuck Taylor - The Granddaddy of sneakers
Air Jordan 1 - If this did not come with the black/red, then bball sneakers would probably still be all white/white base.
I'd have to go personal for the Mt Rushmore of Basketball Shoes:
1 Jordan 11
2 Reebok Question
3 Nike Penny 2
4 Reebok Pump Shaq Attack
The Jordan XI has always been my favorite Jordan. Also, MJ's favorite set of Jordans.
Man, I swear.. everytime I watch something from this channel, I end up buying what Chris's reviewing.
😅
But yeah. This is my favorite jordan shoes
My 2nd pair of 11 lows…but my first pair of Space Jams…family just keeps bringing me the heat😏😁
Top 4 for this 50 year old. 1. Adidas forum high 2. Jordan 2 3. Nike Air Max 1 4. Reebok question red toe. Hard for me to leave off Nike terminator highs, air revolutions, and Air Force 1s.
The 11 is my all time favorite. And these specifically drop on my birthday ❤
I like this channel I am so addicted to it ❤️
My mom had gotten me the space jams for Xmas that year.
