Our Sun has gotten busy this week firing multiple X-class flares including the largest of this cycle thus far. All the noise is due to Region 3590, which has been actively firing flares even before it rotated into Earth view. Amateur radio operators, aviators, and GPS users are dealing with R2 and R3-level radio blackouts on Earth's dayside and this trend will likely continue through the rest of this week. Despite all of its flaring, Region 3590 still has not launched any noteworthy solar storms (towards Earth or otherwise). The reason is likely due to it having no more overlying material to evacuate. It seems all of its overlying material was launched while the region was on the farside of the Sun. In other words, Region 3590's "solar storm" gun has run out of bullets. At least for now. This means aurora photographers will have to settle for the weak filament eruption and fast solar wind chaser that will be hitting over the next couple days. (Early signs show the weak filament may be hitting Earth now). The combined effects could bring a little aurora down to mid-latitudes, but it will be sporadic and short-lived at best. We need that event to cancel the abomination that is AI, its lifeblood that is big data, the social poison that results from social media, all communication and electrical infrastructure that has been misused for these purposes turned dark, silicone transistors fused together as they have become conduits for spirits of evil and bloodshed. Humanity can use the "technological timeout" to find peace and community with their neighbor and learn to love them again.
Artificial intelligence, big data, social media, surveillance, its "circulatory system" of communication infrastructure, has created a new Tower of Babel. While people are distracted with useless toy chatbots and image generators, the real threat goes unnoticed by the masses. As machine learning and its access to more and more data (and the storage and power to calculate within those embedding spaces) increases, some humans in positions of extreme power are quickly developing the ability to predict the future of humanity. Going further so as to be able to manipulate the future of humanity at the micro and macro level. Social media already does this well given the content visibility algorithms, creating divisive social echo chambers that dehumanize those with free thought, and the capability is rapidly "evolving".
What people call "AI" is an implementation of computer-based statistical modeling. It is becoming boundless as computing power and storage capacity for their associated vector databases increases.
This then, is the manifestation by certain powerful humans trying to gain the power of God and his infinite wisdom to see and control all things within our infinitely connected universe.
Making all of this a new Tower of Babel.
And may the Lord's hand wipe it out into ruins during this solar cycle. Amen.
That is a possibility of a timeline for sure … the sun is helping us upgrade ourselves so we won’t get to ww3 … cause with the mind in power that’s what we are going to … we need our hearts back online
Our sol knows so much, in Mayan it is kin, day and time itself. The heavenly father av/abba... sky daddy knows and maybe the reason more CMEs keep going outside of earth range is because "a still more glorious dawn awaits, not a sun rise, but a galaxy rise".
With Nube, and the superstructures that have arrived to break all old cosmology models we are in an entirely different game.

While 3590 hasn’t had any sustained effect on our little rock, it’s size has made it such a fun spot to watch! Bit of a treat to have such large features, plus lots of less pronounced complex areas. That said, I’ve had respond with more “no, that’s not going to hurt us” messages this week than most lol

You may have just prompted me into finally purchasing a shortwave dongle for my computer.
Let me give you the viewpoint from my amateur radio.
This cycle hasn't been as good as previous ones. 10 meter DX propagation began on the autumnal equinox in 2022 and in 2023. Last year it ended after the spring equinox. This season propagation was very good for the first two months after the equinox and then it went away until the beginning of February.
Previous cycles saw polar path flutter on the CB radio band. Nothing so far this time.
Previous cycles would see propagation switch from East-west in the fall and winter to north-south for the spring and summer. By contrast the radio was pretty much dead last summer.
The maximum usable frequency has largely stayed below 30 MHz. There were a few days last fall when 42 MHz public service signals were received on my scanner, but not since November.
Thank you for that. Very interesting. We need to analyze the relation between the very low and the very high KHz bands. There’s a scalar relationship like in music harmonics. (It’s the same transform equation anyway).
Yes, I agree with you. I had hope for this cycle to rise higher than the last two, but in the last year things have really fizzled. Sadly, this cycle is no where near the big ones of the 1950s through the 1980s. However, since this s an odd cycle, activity should pick up more during the declining phase. The even cycles are more active in the ascending phase. This likely has to do with our Sun's magnetic field coupling to the intergalactic field, but we dont know the details of the mechanism yet. So, we can hope things pick up as we cross through solar maximum.
@@TamithaSkov As baseball legend Yogi Berra would say, "it ain't over 'til it's over". Using 100 watts into a 5/8 wave vertical omnidirectional antenna called a Penetrator, I've had difficulty getting beyond about 8000 miles, but late last week with the SFI at 173 I was able to get to Sydney, a distance of 10,200 miles. I'm holding out hope, that perhaps if the SFI never gets to 250 the current levels last longer.
Another thing I'm observing is this: if the SFI is below 165 I can hear the European stations working the Middle Eastern and African stations but I can't hear anything. It's as if the lower SFI is removing the number of "hops" a given signal can make.

Actually, it happens quite frequently when an unstable active region has rapid fired flares and CMEs so much that there is no more overlying plasma to evacuate. At that point the region continues to fire flares, but there is no material left to launch CMEs. So it fires blanks!

It wasn't due to the flares as Dr. Skov stated toward the end of this video.
Forecasts like this help me look ahead and manage my week as things like this impact on both my PTSD and its sidecar of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome through inflammation dramatically. Presenting Space Weather in the same viewing format as our terrestrial weather gives viewers a sense of familiarity with terms, and a topic in which many will feel out of their depth or more humbled by than they already do by something like a tornado or tsunami. I am thrilled to think that I am living in a time where this will become as common in News as our terrestrial Weather.

Been noticing the Kp index goes up regardless of the direction or ECM content. Really curious what would happen if an X10+ erupted 180 degrees away from us. How would that affect the geomagnetic in opposition to a direct hit? Seems it would do something.
QUESTION: We know that water attracts and magnifies electrical effects from huge storms. As these big solar flares hit the salty Pacific, do you know how sea and human life is affected, specific to the ocean proximity? Thank you.

It would be interesting of someone used the Earth climate modeling systems to model the sun (and thus what to expect on Earth).
Models are only as good as the data entered and the complexity of the modeling program. We're still at the basic stage of computing and solar science.

You can believe what you want to believe but I’ve been watching this for over two years now and this is something that happens and I think I don’t know how many years apart but the sun changes its poles.
