Excellent Video. I have the 1st "Gen" mold guide on my old RCBS Pro-Melt. And I have had that problem of lead getting into the top mounted locking screws. Nice to know of the redesign.
Yes, I remember I got you some initial measurements a while ago. I have been postponing my long casting sessions.... then again I have been spending a pretty penny at Al's shop anyways
Nice vid sir. I have been casting from a cast iron pot and ladle over a gas burner for over 30 years. I'm uprading to a Lee 4-20 and got the mold guide kit from NOE. Also ordered a PID controller from HATCH on the C.B. forum. Molds I have are NOE, H&G, Saeco, MP, and of course Lee.
Just got my Lee 4-20 pot today and the factory mold guide is pretty useless. Not sure why they even put one on. I will be getting this asap. Does anyone know who has the guide plate in stock? NOE is out of stock right now. Thank for sharing this video!
That is a very nice tool. You even took into consideration how to overcome a leaking flaw in the lee pot. Was wondering and if it is a silly question sorry:) How about a place to rest your handle and mold when whacking the sprue cutter too? I wonder how many tons of lead you have turned into nice big bullets.
Like a premium casting pot... PID, Made in America, 40lb capacity (for all that big bullet casting that I do), good mold guide, and good spout, like the RCBS... Maybe someday...
I really need this one. Also its nice to see that your Lee Pro 4-20 is just as gnarly looking as mine... but hey they work ! But it is a little pricey when you add the $16 adapter ..ouch.
I made something very similar to this for my 4-20 pot, except I used shaft collars as stops and rode directly on the shaft (like the RCBS mold guide) I was wondering if the NOE mold guide would work. Now I know:) is there shaft diameter .25" on the NOE adapter?
I believe it is a little larger like .280 for the adapter shaft diameter. With the set screws, the mould guide can fit on smaller shafts and tighten. The lyman pot has a smaller shaft diameter, but the same guide can be used on it as well as the RCBS pot.
Hey Taco that is a really nice setup. It looks like it will work with an actual Lee mold. What do you think ? It looks like it would lineup with the Lee molds, but I'm not sure just by looking at it. I don't really like the mold guide on the Lee pot, you can never get it just right and it always feels like it's rubbing to much. That will really be nice if I can use Lee molds on a Lee pot !
I have a noe hollow point mold with the roll pin sprue stop it caused the sprue plate to rise when closed is there any fix for this it causes different length bullets
I have several of those older NOE molds too. What I do when I cut the sprue is tap at a slight angle, so I am slightly tapping it down and open at the same time. That seems to help cut the sprues cleanly so the bullets don't have a little bump at the bottom middle of the bullet base.
As a 2 year Reloader and a 2 times (yes 2 times) caster, my second time is successful. However, having touch of OCD, having lead dripping over the sides of the mold really annoyed me. I am hoping this will work with my Lee molds.

Yeah, I think we are on gen 3 now. The gen 3 just pops on the top, so it works with the new rcbs promelt 2 pot also.
That's Good to know, but I'm getting really good at never allowing Lead into those setscrews.
@@walksfletcher yeah, I still have a prototype of the gen 1 that I use on one of my pots.
Dude YES!!!! I have been waiting patiently for it.
I hope you enjoy it! It was designed and made specifically because people requested it!
Yes, I remember I got you some initial measurements a while ago. I have been postponing my long casting sessions.... then again I have been spending a pretty penny at Al's shop anyways
Yeah thanks for giving me those measurements. I think I was trying to compare multiple Lee pot legs to make sure they were all the same thickness.

Thanks Troy! I wish UA-cam would stop deleting all my instructional casting videos. Great equipment you got.
@@FullLeadTaco thanks, it's a shame that we are left to being thrown into fringe categories regarding these topics.
Double thumbs up for this video!! 👍🏻😀👍🏻
I just picked up my Gen 3 from Al of NOE. Al from Provo, Utah rocks! Now…finally…my Lyman Mag25 WILL fit the Lee mould as advertised by Lyman company😆
nice, I have since upgraded all of my pots to the Gen 3 from NOE... makes things a lot nicer when casting.
Looks great, looks like i need to upgrade my 10lb pot to 20 lb now
yeah man, especially with those big bullets you cast!
Full.Lead.Taco yea, cant wait got the MOAB lol i shot my 1895 last weekend and it was great, cant wait to shoot those deep HP out of it

ha ha, well I know for sure I have turned at least 1 ton of lead into bullets (I counted once).
It looks like a winner . Now design a setup to keep the pot from leaking so much .
I kinda want to design a 40 lb. casting pot for NOE...
Like a premium casting pot... PID, Made in America, 40lb capacity (for all that big bullet casting that I do), good mold guide, and good spout, like the RCBS... Maybe someday...
Nice improvements, mine is frozen until I get out the torch & melt the lead out of the left 'screw' hole.
I really need this one. Also its nice to see that your Lee Pro 4-20 is just as gnarly looking as mine... but hey they work ! But it is a little pricey when you add the $16 adapter ..ouch.
Vengenace Early ha ha
How about jig casting with a do-it mold? Will it fit in there with this guide?
Not sure on the height of a do-it mold

Yeah should work fine with the lee molds too
Full.Lead.Taco Boy, that was quick 😃 Thanks, have a good one.
This is probably a question for your friend at NOE, could they be returned if they
don't line up ? Hope that's a fair question !
Why would it not line up? It is vertically and horizontally adjustable.
Your right, that's kind of a brain fart question. Can we forget about it ? :-)
Why no Ingot mold under the spout ? Especially with a lee drip-o-matic ?
yeah, I usually put an ingot mold below to catch drips

Will this only work on the LEE 20 ib Furnace or will it work with the LEE Production POT IV 10lb Furnace
Does your pot have a leg to attach the guide to?
Wish I could put one on my Lee production pot IV. Still can’t talk myself into a Pro-4 20
Is yours the 10lb pot?
Yeah. Not very high tech but still better than dipper casting 😁
yup, and any casting is better than no casting :)
I like this...do you sell them??

I don't sell them, but NOE sells them. They make good stuff.
