That shit is such a fucking joke…. I’m bias because I love AD to death. I’m from Lexington so obviously a huge Kentucky basketball fan, and that’s where I fell in love with his game. But damn I mean that man won us a title as a freshman on the back of his defense!!! AND AD only got even better in the league defensively but especially offensively!!!! Also AD can deal with smaller dudes on the perimeter really damn well even when compared to smaller guards !!!! Very much unlike Gobert who guards love seeing him take a switch and to be forced to the perimeter. Why? because his goofy ass literally falls over himself at even the slightest crossover, it’s like people don’t see how much of a liability that can be and it kills me. They just look at stats and metrics without seeing any of the bigger picture, seriously media voting this shit should be ashamed. For example Luka when he hit the game winner in the playoffs over Gobert, as soon as Luka saw Gobert switch out to him and come to the perimeter he knew the game was over lol. Then Luka proceeds to put him on skates and buried the game winner. Like the man can be just as much of a liability on defense as he can be helpful. But these advanced stats don’t show all the times he becomes a straight up liability. Also I know it’s DPOY but AD also has 10x more input offensively while still being that elite of a defender. Gobert’s ass gets to rest on the offensive side of the ball all fucking game, all he has to do is to set a screen and fuck off to catch his breath. Man is also a terrible offensive rebounder for his size again UNLIKE AD who is a great offensive rebounder. But the point is AD has to maintain his intensity on both ends of the floor, meanwhile dudes like goofy ass Gobert out here winning all these awards and shit. It seriously kills me. Yes Gobert is great in his niche of being a paint defender, but you gotta look at the big picture. Not just get your dick hard over the new advanced stats and how good they make Gobert look. It’s to the point where these media members have gone full tunnel-vision and forget these stats only show a very small part of the overall game. And even then don’t recognize where he is a liability giving up free points on the perimeter by either refusing to switch (when any other player would) or taking the switch and getting fucking exposed.
What he said about LeBron doesn’t get talked about enough, coaches want a guy that can do everything on the floor, and as Dinwiddie put it, covers up the mistakes of others. No one else has done that like LeBron has. And I’ll go on a lookin regarding AD, dude is the most talented player to ever play the power forward position, dude has no weaknesses in his game on either side of the basketball.
Nowhere on his body of work says that. Ask the Pelicans. They got out the first round ONCE in 7 years. Name one big time guy who has that resume. AD is never healthy and elevated his guys a whole season plus playoffs. Never.
