Danish royal family in the old days. Queen Margrethe II, Prince Consort Henrik, Crown Prince Frederik and Prince Joachim.

The two princes - Frederik is the spit of his father and Joachim is his mother's son. The Queen is so chic and Prince Henrik was always impeccably dressed - they complimented each other very well.
I think Frederick has his mother’s eyes but everything else looks like his father. Joachim looks very much like his mother’s side.
The Danish family has become my favorite royals . They are a loving and fun family . The Queen and Consort were a lovely couple . I miss him. The pictures of the young princes are adorable . God Bless the Queen and family .
Having been born and growing up in Denmark, I can only agree. Queen Margrethe have always been down to earth. Her father King Frederik, was known for liking to mix with everyday Danes. They royal family have a lodge in Northern Jylland and they like to go there at Christmas time. King Frederik would walk or drive down to the local general store, order a beer and sit down and talk to who ever was there. Back then the general store in small towns were a meeting place, we had one where I grew up 30 miles south of Copenhagen, and often on Friday afternoon or Saturday if my dad went there to shop, other towns people were there, they usually have beer or two and chat for a few hours. There was no drinking and driving as most used there by bikes.

Prince Frederick looks like his dad and Joachim takes after his mother and has that Scandinavian look.
Joachim definitely takes after his mother's family (I was born and raided in Denmark). Queen Margrethe is about 6 feet tall, her father King Frederik the 9th was over 6 feet and his father king Christian the 10th was at least 6'4 or taller, I seem to have read somewhere he was 6'6. not sure, but he was definitely very tall. One time when I was back in my native Denmark (I had in been living the the US for a few years) I was at a department store in Copenhagen when I noticed a very tall woman in a beautiful fur coat (before it became a no no to wear fur, it was the late sixties) in the store. I realized after a few seconds it was the Queen she was doing her Christmas shopping. It was also before the royals had security. all she had with her was one other lady (in Danish hofdame) her personal maid.
Frederick has his mother’s eyes in my opinion, but everything else looks like his father. Joachim looks like his mother’s side.
I wonder which side the men take after in regards to personality. As for me I look like my mom but me & my Dad were like two peas in a pod.
I like Margrethe. She's a good 'ol girl, as we say in Texas

@@unamed2516 Yeah, those were the days. The tobacco companies used to claim that cigarettes were healthy and good for your lungs and portrayed users as sophisticated and cool. Only in the mid-90s after the they lost the class action lawsuits in the US did they admit to cigarettes being addictive and causing cancer and had to settle the suits with hundreds of billions of dollars. After that the sale and advertising of tobacco products were heavily controlled and regulated, as least in the US.
