I'm not completely sure why this showed up in my recommendations, but goshdangit this 12 year old boy has one of the cleanest and most beautiful soprano voices I have ever heard. Bravo.
Suggestion: go back up to the top and read FABLE.
When he is no longer a soprano, he will still have that excellent sense of pitch, and knows a lot about vocal control. He is going to be amazing.

I’ll comeback in two years yo see if he’s turned soprano
Treble. He’s a treble.
I believe even the angels stop and listen. Bravo.
May this 12 yrs old voice glorify our true living God.
Thank you Cai Thomas for sharing your beautiful youthful voice and giving us a sample of your technical skill.
In spite of everything there is still beauty in the world.

We are hearing "the voice of an angel" in the body of a 12 year old boy. Unbelievable tone, vocal inflections. I keep listening to his pure voice.
Face of an angel too.
beyond the grace, the angelic purity, the musicality, there also is the intelligent maturity, feeling what it is he is given the opportunity to interpret; this all, is what makes this available for us to listen to, an absolutely magically 'divine' moment.
I always remember my dad being so surprised hearing me sing next to him when he finally came to church once. I wish I had stuck with it. Apparently treble voice is rare. As soon as puberty came along it was like I had to yell to be heard all of a sudden.
I can’t imagine what it would be like to just open your mouth and have that magical sound come out! Heavenly
Someting I can only dream of. :(
There's a lot of work and training behind it. It doesn't just come out talent or not. Music is like an iceberg. The public only sees/hears 10% of the work.
And when his voice changes?
@@redheadmomma7176 It will be beautiful, but different. The training and skill it there.
Funny how there are so many comments about the mechanics of this performance vs. just appreciating the beauty of it.

The saddest thing about a boy treble's voice is that they are often at their most beautiful just before the voice "breaks" in puberty. However, he will always have that musicianship, breath control, pitch and performance skills. I do hope that he makes singing part of his life as an adult.

The most beautiful controlled singing. Exactly as it should be sung - sounds effortless but is the result of a lot of hard work. Well done Cai.

Ummmm his voice not technically a SOPRANO, as much as it’s a tenor(remember he is a pre-teen which means he hasn’t truly started hitting puberty yet).
But yes his voice is very pure, it’s bright, he has nailed his vowels and has learned to properly sing using his diaphragm(the power house for any vocalist).
More than likely he will be a true tenor even after puberty… but that’s only speculation.

Hello Cai,
I started choral singing in 1963 when I was just over 7 years old. I have never stopped since. I was notably part of the Maîtrise des Petits Chanteurs de Notre-Dame de Versailles from 1989 to 2006. And with this ensemble, I participated in the recording of Fauré's Requiem in 1993.
Being a tenor for a very long time, I sang Pie Jesu for Mum's funerals in 2008 and Dad's in 2015. So it was with great emotion that I heard you sing this magnificent piece.
I put my comment here since I can't do it on your recording.

@@ImAnBoosterBaby Yes, I know it's unfashionable these days to believe in talent but as an art teacher of 25 years I can tell you there are brain differences among people that make it easier or harder for them to learn skills and with some, say about 5-10%, there's an astonishing native understanding of art. They come to it already "understanding" their paints, clay, charcoal, whatever, and just SOAR, while most of their classmates work hard to learn.
Among these people maybe half are also markedly superior in terms of concept. Their art isn't just mimicking what's been done before but seeks new ground and is expressed in strikingly sophisticated ways.
I don't care whether people don't like using the word "talent" for that or not - perhaps somebody somewhere has come up with some other word - but the phenomenon exists and it's what most people mean by "talent."
But, sure, I know fashion is important to a lot of people. Super important. So carry on with hopping on posts to "correct" others for using a word you don't like and making no actual positive contribution. Hope it makes you feel good.
