Thanks for this timely video my R8 arrives today! I’m upgrading from the m50 so I won’t miss the ibis or dual card slots. I don’t think the battery will be an issue for me either since I’m used to the m50. Most videos I’ve seen have been so negative on the R8. Only comparing it to the R6. Thanks again. Got mine a week ago as b video cam and a foto one. With the RF 16 it’s great for vlogs, really nice compact cam, looking for a powerbank currently, with that the small battery is not an issue anymore. Great vid, look forward to coir thoughts on the primes 👍🏻

Not a canon shooter anymore, but a friend asked me what camera I would raccomandate, I told him to buy the R8, is an R6II without IBIS and the battery.
Quite a nice camera from Canon especially the uncroped 60p.

try to get a new body and for my primary shooter..curently using eos rp..so it uses the same battery as RP..so i will consider R8..
Great content. Would you choose the r6 Mark I I or canon r5 for vlog/doc work? I love Sony Dynamic Range, but I am just not inspired to use sony cameras. Keep up the great content
Thank you! You won't go wrong with either. If you want to take photos as well then I would get the R5. Other than that I think the R6mk2 is a better value, allowing you to spend money on other things.

Yea definitely can’t go wrong either way. Doc work specifically is probably go R6II because u can record longer durations if u need to. Otherwise u can’t go wrong with either. The media is more consistent as well in terms of 2 SD cards vs the R5 being the CFexpress and a SD card. Obviously cheaper too

Yes
Battery is small, because it makes the camera lighter.
Your pinky is dangling,because the camera is smaller, thus lighter.
They supply additional charger, because when you use multiple batteries, you can then charge two at the same time, one with in-body charger,other with external charger.
Buttons change their place from camera to camera, because there is no such thing as best, different people like different layouts. These changes give people the chance to pick the camera thats right for them.
No record limit at all? But the specs say it`s 2 hours max.
Anyway, the price is the most tempting thing about this camera. Full frame body with 10 bit 4K60 internal recording for $1499 is mindblowing. But RF lenses are so expensive that it totally negates this advantage.
Yes I should have specified. It lost the annoying 30min record limit that is on many canon cameras.
And yes the native RF glass is very expensive. And the fact that there are no third party options is disappointing
the small battery it comes with, some people are gettng 24 minutes recording 4k
airplane mode gets you around 48mins but its god awful unless you use PD power bank@@miggyloz806
