Evelina Richter OMG same for me I even took a trip to NY to see a real Broadway show two years ago! Thanks to Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison but mostly Lea I fell in love with musical theatre again.
It’s not just the fact she sang in the episode about Cory’s death, the fact she actually stayed in the show is incredible…everything and everyone around her would’ve been a reminder of what she lost and she still stuck around…
Lmfao you act like she wasn’t getting paid a ton of money to stay. She didn’t stay cause she’s a great person she stayed cause she’s a greedy dog that wanted a paycheck.
They were not engaged. She also used his death kinda like a victim card, to get everything she wanted and hurting so many, even those closest to her her. So, of course she stayed.
But yes, beyond incredible and powerful voice!

I was watching Glee and I was so annoyed by Rachel's singing in EVERY nationals since she always got a Solo but in the 5th season when they lost nationals I unconsciously thought to myself "Damn, Rachel would've slayed that competition, she would've ate them all up" and thats when it hit me 😭despite absolutely everything she is insanely talented

Everyone knows Lea is a phenomenal singer live. Everyone is given auto tone on Glee. She’s even better in person and can hit those same notes - exactly the same and even better. She’s not the beast but is definitely in a list. Something you can’t deny. :/ I’m not even a Leah fan at all.

I honestly have a hard time watching any of it anymore. It's just so sad to see them in the prime of their lives in season 1, and know what happens later. As a mom it breaks my heart, but my daughter loves the show, and she is 17 and invincible (as they all are) so I try not to bring her too far down by reminding her of the real life tragedies constantly.
I would suggest you watch The Cost of Glee because it’s rather enlightening on this subject

Her talent level is so insane. I applaud any man she ever did a duet with that didn't get blown off the stage. Darren held his own, Chris definitely, Cory kills faithfully for an untrained singer. But Jessie St James was her vocal match.
No surprise there, since both she and Jonathan Groff came from Broadway. And having starred in Spring Awakening together, the chemistry was also undeniable and showed in how well their vocals mixed as well.

In any club people usually try to get a higher position when they are more focused on pursuing a related career. The exception is mercedes who only realized she wanted to pursue a singing career in senior year but I wish she wouldve gotten a bigger chance to shine because I think shes just as good as rachel when it comes to natural talent, the only thing was that she was lazier in the beginning and less willing to train, which she changed once she had a goal. sry for the long response lol my point is just that I dont get why people hate on rachel for trying to be the star when she was the most focused on performing after highschool. (and yes I do think she went too far to stay the star at moments especially when she felt threatened like with sunshine)

I know it's been a while but I feel a lot of people jumped into the lea hate bandwagon and never got down. Yes she had terrible attitude and she was a freaking diva. We all know that. However that does not mean she's the devil herself. She's best friends with Jonathan Groff, ome of the sweetest, nicest people ever. Same goes for Darren criss and Cory Monteith. They all stood by her and they are all incredibly well-loved and good people(as far as we know and according to other cast mates and fans). Besides, some of the cast said that she grew past that, they forgave her and most important of all, she has apologized. Yes, hold people accountable, but God there is a time to let it go(not saying everyone has to like her, ofc not, but people in the replies keep bringing up she's a "terrible person" everytime). Besides, you can dislike her all you want but no one can deny the talent.
And also, not my intention to excuse anyone, but the amount of divas and people in Hollywood with a bad attitude is greater than y'all might think

Tina was good in the first season. I wish the writers didn’t trash her personality so much. She was timid, smart, and at the same time had her quirks. Also kinda wish she didn’t fake the stutter though.
I think a huge part of Rachel's personality in the show was that she was annoying. I don't know what the writers intended but I think the fact that she is sorta annoying was intentional and was just added as being one of her quirks. Its not a bad think but there's no denying it especially when it is a big part of her character

The last song she sings for the series "This Time" was written by Darren Criss. I believe she chose it, and it was because he wrote it is why she sang it as her series finale hommage. At least what I saw on one of the videos here on UA-cam

To Love you More was ranked WAY too low on this in my opinion for that fact alone.
to love you more was definitely studio work. she definitely had breaks in between and later the sound engineer patched up all the vocal takes together. in live performances she always struggles to sustain the 8 second long dont rain on my parade note.

I saw a change in Lea when Corey died. She seemed a lot more humbled. And god it must’ve been so difficult to come into work every day without the man you worked with every day and were literally engaged to.

I don't think we should forget because it did hurt people, but I think we should forgive her and give her a chance to prove she changed. I'm sure she can still be a diva at times, and I think she'd admit that, but I haven't heard anyone who knew her after glee complain about her. Imo that's a big part of it bc, as much as I like the show, it's set (and Ryan Murphy productions in general) are horribly toxic. People need to stop giving crap to the fans who still support her too.

It always bothered me that they had Rachel leave Funny Girl, like that was her dream role for like her whole life! The Glee Script writers really dropped the ball when they dumped 6 seasons of Rachel’s character development when she left funny girl to be on a tv show.🥺 Even tho people may hate the character Rachel no one can deny how Lea Michele is so incredibly talented.🤷♀️
Honestly though, it was always her biggest dream to be on Broadway, and she hadn’t even reached her peak yet, you can tell. Nobody, no matter how amazing the concept is is going to leave their rise to Broadway fame to work on a TV show that will only go on for what? 3 seasons.

I actually don’t think they dropped the ball on Rachel’s character because I always saw it as a sort of demonstration about the fact that Rachel’s key flaw was the need to iconize herself. Even though so much of her wanted to be on stage because of the love and embodiment she had for the craft of musical theater and the legacy of Broadway, there was always a desire to prove herself, that she was special, that she was beyond even the legacy of Broadway. I think the decision to leave funny girl was partially informed by all the self-doubt and discomfort that had been internally and externally inflicted on her that season - facing pressure like that, she indulged a primal, some might say weaker impulse. Long story short, I felt like the point was that Rachel herself would never have admitted or liked to think that she might drop her career-launching dream role for a likely-catastrophic ego project... and yet ultimately she had to confront that yes, she just might. But maybe I’m giving the writers a bit too much credit. ;)
I love Rachel and Lea but yeah it was a waste.
