    I hate to comment on UA-cam but this man right here knows what he's talking about. I've been on UA-cam for 6 years, built 1.3M sub channels (and others not as big). This is the FIRST time I see someone really talking about UA-cam secrets. Love You Man.

    Roberto dropping facts as usual! UA-cam is a difficult platform but hard work and dedication can take you far. Especially if you're open to learning and improving with each video you create. Not to mention being able to accept responsibility when a video fails. Blaming the algorithm gets you nowhere.

    • @PurposedLensPhotoMedia
      @PurposedLensPhotoMedia 10 місяців тому

      I agree with you!
      I am also learning that the TOP creators out there aren't necessarily the BEST! Take Roberto for instance, he drops gems ALL THE TIME (by himself!) that are MUCH more in depth and practical (in my opinion), yet there are MANY other UA-camrs that are larger with more views.
      The size and view count of a channel does not dictate the VALUE of the PERSON however, the size of a channel and it's view count do dictate it's value to UA-cam (The Company).
      I think this is an IMPORTANT distinction to make and grasp/learn. To be UA-cam successful one MUST "play the game". To reach one's full potential, one just needs to be true to his or her purpose and capabilities. (which is what Roberto does on UA-cam and OUTSIDE of UA-cam.)
      Roberto teaches how to balance the two equally so that you can get results from both sides of the spectrum.
      Personally I find that my videos that "FAIL" are the one's I REALLY enjoy making! The one's that succeed are the one's I MUST make to be relevant on this platform. So I plan on making 1 video a month for me and the other for UA-cam.
      Great comment!

    I have to say that mine is failing. 330 videos and only 2000 subs. $CPM is going down not up.
    Then again, I can't be full time, only 5-7 hours/week, so maybe this was the best it could be. I am monetized, but that doesn't cover even the cost of the Envato Elements.
    I only continue because I like doing it. A few hundred people watch each video, 98% upvote ratio, about 10 comments praising my work. So I continue on.

      Roberto, there are still a lot of comments thinking the "AlgOriThM" doesn't like small channels (not true, but it can feel that way ) and it gave me the best ever video idea. Stay with me...
      Get a few established channels to start a new channel from scratch and post like 3 videos to see if it gets traction in the algorithm. No advertising on the main channels or promoting the new channel in any type of way. I would bet money most of the channels have over 2k- 50k views per video and 1k subscribers after 1-2 months depending on niche. I would 100% do this. I would even film on my phone and only use natural light for filming.

      They are being dishonest just to get more view in the future. Telling the truth is going to drive people away..... Offering them hope and telling them to keep going makes return viewers more possible which in turns drives everything for them..... Very dishonest of them not to just say well more than 90% of you will never make it according to current statistics based on the last X number of years.

    I'm still small, channel-wise, but I am content with what I've got, as opposed to feeling worthless and chasing view like where I once was. What I've learnt makes me better and that matters to me. My crappy vids, some of them have good content but the vid is awful. I am revamping those old vids and that's working well. I'm also engaging a lot in the community tab. And that's the thing, my niche might keep me small right now, but engagement is amazing. THAT is worth so much to me. And after learning so much, I feel I am growing as a person, as a creator, regardless of the numbers.

      What would being the largest channel in your niche look like?

    • @DarthShadie
      @DarthShadie 10 місяців тому +1

      @@RobertoBlake I suppose it would look like having between 5K and 50K subscribers and being one of the go-to people for all things lore for that specific video game, a place for fun discussions and crazy theories where even more people are chiming in their theories and viewpoints on the story of the franchise. In my niche, 5K subs is good, the rare few who have more than 30K either do other games too or have been around much longer. The engagement would be exponentially higher than it already is (which is pretty amazing right now).

I've had fairly successful YT channels in the past (10+ years ago), but everything is different now: the focus is on selling, selling, SELLING, not creating. I'm a creator, without any of the advantages you mentioned (eg, money, youth) -- and now, without Twitter (where i had 12k+ followers) or any other viable outside social media, I have nowhere to even tell anybody about my videos. You're so right about reaction videos. I generally detest react videos because it's just some personality who's watching video on TikTok and they just go "Wow!" or "No way!" and all they do is make a series of facial expression and funny remarks. I learn absolutely nothing new, and there's nothing to take away about the video other than it's trending on TikTok.
    I do enjoy watching "Expert reacts to" or "Professional reacts to" videos. Whenever I watch a lawyer react to Better Call Saul, or U.S. Air Force pilot reacts to Top Gun, or former mobster reacts to The Sopranos, I get to learn from their perspective how Hollywood portrays their profession. I get to learn from their personal experiences in the field and how accurate the characters and story are depicted and what did Hollywood get right or wrong.
    I also enjoy debunking videos. Not everything you see on TikTok is true or good advice. I love it when an auto mechanic rips apart bad advice on repairing cars, or when a chef has to explain that there's a better way to cook this meal, or when a tech expert has to point out that this video is just giving worthless advice and is trying to sell you a product.
