Sooo very pretty !!! I'm so glad you mention using Pinking Shears when you ever do cuz, sometimes, I forget I have them for such purposes. And, the way you made this coaster can be adapted to make do many different things such as pot holders, placemats, runners, etc. Really, the possibilities are almost endless. I love the ruffles. The way you make them seems very easy to do. And, you always say "Love You" at the end of your videos. So, I wanna say "Love You Too" cause you sound like you really mean what you say, then, and you are so sweet, Ma'am. TYSM for sharing your techniques and knowledge with us in your videos. I'm sure you can do it with Vivians instructions. I was thinking for the pleats, you can pleat and pin then sew, it may be easier, that way you can check the pleats before sewing to make sure they are all the same size and going in the right direction. I have sewn things I never thought I could, actually many things, and they turned out beautifully, thanks to Vivians wonderful instructions, she's an amazing teacher!! 💕💕

It's beautiful, I would have to make the box pleats first, because I am rubbish at sewing circles, but I am practising now I use the magnetic edge thing.
After you made the pleats, when I sew the pleats on the circle using sewing machine, you use basting stitch and sew then machine sew after, that way it won’t give you a hard time Love you Vivian
I was making a very full ball gown skirt and after gathering the waist band, I decided pleats would be much smoother. My point, pleats can have many purposes. Don’t be intimidated.
I got the one that in the bag of many yards in there so long ago and I forgot how thick it is.. sorry. But you can easily find it at Walmart store Love Vivian

I've seen people use a fork, to make the pleats perfect. Might be easier.
I agreed for that simple pleats, this type of pleats has top and bottom separated as layers.
