    Thanks for the excellent video. I only see one thing I would change and that is, the way you have the cable hooked to the blade frame. It is off-center which over time will place more strain on both wench and fame. Suggestion; Drill a hole centered in the blade frame, install an Eye-Bolt and attach the cable there. This would center the load.

      That is a good suggestion and I already did it almost immediately after I published this video! Where I put this in the video was just a quick temporary fitment just to show how it works but I have got it centered now. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks for the video! I've been thinking about putting a plow on my 1990 4 trax and the winch has been the hold up.

      No problem. One thing to mention is you will want a good battery because the winch runs primarily on the battery. The four wheeler charges off the stator and isn't enough to keep up with the plow. Thanks for watching!

      @@BeardedBandit Thanks for the tip! I already figured out I'm going to have to make my mount. They don't have one for my machine anymore. Its too bad, my machine runs great and is like new.

      Best 4 wheeler ever made IMO. I had a '90 fourtrax before this one and I foolishly sold it but snagged this one from my brother when he went to sell.

      @@BeardedBandit Good to know! I just made some plans to fabricate my own brackets for my winch out of angle iron. Hope it works!

    instead of making the stock holes larger for the roller i moved down and made my own seemed like a nicer soution in my case

    Hey when your blade gets rounded, I replace it with a 4 inch by four foot piece of conveyor belt it really seems to work better than that cheap strip of metal.

    my biggest complaint about my 88 is how soft the suspension is. needs way more capacity for my needs. looks like the 2500 is more than enough for my plow but they struggle to lift the atv and thats less than 400lbs so pretty weak compared to the 3500.

      I'm with you. Mine doesn pretty well as long as the battery is fully charged which a good battery is key. I always keep it on a trickle charger in the winter to be sure because the winch takes more battery than the wheeler can keep up with so it's always in kind of a negative charge state when using the plow.

    Any links for your plow itself? Awesome video thanks!!!

    When operating the winch while plowing how convenient are the controls ? Being not mounted to handle bars ? I have the same winch and a 2007 420 Rancher
    Trying to figure how to operate it

    • @BeardedBandit
      @BeardedBandit  9 місяців тому

      I use the wireless controls most frequently. It definitely would be nice to have controls mounted somewhere but I just keep the remote in my left hand when plowing

      I did find a device on Amazon and watched a few videos how to hardwire it into the controller box
      And mount to the handlebars

      I have a KFI open trail plow and this was the mounting bracket that came with it. I did have to drill some extra holes and got some u-bolts and made it work.

    What yr is your fourtrax i have a 89 and 90 yr model .....just wondering if this mount would work on those as well ....thanks

    • @BeardedBandit
      @BeardedBandit  3 роки тому +1

      Mine is a 1994 I believe. This mount says it works for 1993-2000 Honda TRX 300's so doesn't sound like this particular one will work with yours.

      Held up good. Didn't get a lot of snow this year but worked great on the storms we did get. The winch mount is solid as a rock
