Sorry, but The Fabulous Baker Boys is NOT a romantic movie in any stretch of the imagination, Bridges and Pfeiffer are Strangers in the night, passing in the night, what does his brother say" stick to cocktail waitresses little brother" It's my favorite movie of all time, brilliant script and score, great cast and acting, but in no, way shape or form is it romantic, sexy as hell, but not romantic, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, you get my point

@@eugenesedita it doesn’t matter that she was coached every note etc because she is the one that executed it. I don’t think she is a trained singer but this song here shows that she had tremendous potential to be a fine trained vocalist if she decided to pursue it. It is documented that she did sing in the movie. See:
"Pfeiffer performed all of her own vocals for her character and the film's soundtrack.[63] Kloves described Pfeiffer's singing voice as good but not "professionally great", believing a more professional-sounding singer would have made the film unrealistic.[64] Despite having sung in the musical film Grease 2 (1982), Pfeiffer was never a professional singer,[24] and found the songs in The Fabulous Baker Boys challenging because they are "written to showcase the voice ... so [she] had to retrain the way I listen to music" to sound as though she was singing live, accompanied by only two pianos.[37] Pfeiffer had not sung on camera since Grease 2 seven years prior.[38] To strengthen her vocal chords, the actress enrolled in voice lessons for two months under vocal coach Sally Stevens.[24][31] Stevens was personally recruited by Grusin, with whom she had collaborated several times prior.[65]"

I hope you also enjoy this very particular rendition of My funny Valentine, together with Baroque music and poetry (John Donne), and played with Baroque instruments, just published by Warner Classics, as part of the musical LA CRÍTICA DEL AMOR:

Smoking can provide ambiance to certain scenes, and can even act as a prop or joke. Just think about cigars in movies and the types of characters who smoke them. A western where some guys are sitting playing cards, a cigarette lies almost forgotten in an ash tray, you know there is a gun fight coming and the camera focuses on the smoldering cigarette, the cylinder of ash falls and everyone draws their guns.
So yeah, there can be a good reason for smoking in movies.

No they had dead keys but learned the parts. She really sang, though.
