Thanks so much for putting this interview up, especially with subtitless so that the people all over the world can see and appreciate how beautiful they are...!
An interesting and insightful interview. You can easily tell that these three long-time friends have great respect and deep affection for each other and for the body of work they've jointly created. I'd love to see them perform live someday. Thanks for sharing this post and for the English subs.
I miss sakamoto and takahashi.... Stil have all their YMO and solo albums on vinyl....i think they make together great music in heaven... And hosono likes it ❤
They seem very comfortable with themselves and very at peace, instead of looking incredibly depressed as they did in videos like Kimi Ni Mune Kun. I'm happy they seemed so positive!
@sctaber56 And now I hear that YMO will be returning to the US this June to perform together at the Hollywood Bowl. in Los Angeles. If at all possible, I hope to be in the audience so I can experience the magic of their wonderful music live and in person! It's one of my dreams.
Sakamoto's father was really strict and Sakamoto didn't like his father very much. That thing turned into a sense that he hated older generation and Hosono is five years older than Sakamoto. That's why Sakamoto would have an aggressive attitude towards Hosono but it was not punch and kick thing. They said it was more a feeling of tension. Hosono didn't understand what was going on at the time. But Hosono and Sakamoto talked about it on a radio show in 2007 which would become a historical radio show for YMO fans later, I guess. It was surprisingly the first time to talk between just two of them privately and Sakamoto talked about his father. I guess Hosono was vaguely aware that Sakamoto hated older people and once he heard about Sakamoto's farther, he immediately realized what had been going on. "Oh, that's his father...." Now Sakamoto regrets his attitude very much and he said he really wanted to punch himself in that era and he was so sorry. I guess Sakamoto thinks YMO, Takahashi and Hosono are very important things in his life and he really wanted to take it back. I also had a warm thing in my heart when I heard this story.
Rest in peace both ryuchi and yukihiro!
infinite respect to those three legends.
Takahashi is so warm and jovial! You can tell how much his easygoing attitude really makes the group what it is 💗💗
Beautiful Interview. So much mutual respect. RIP Yukihiro and Ryuchi.

i couldn't think of anybody who i respect more…
yukihiro takahashi
RIP Mr.Yukihio Takahashi.
I love them so much.
Love u guys❤, RIP TAKAHASHI & SAKAMOTO
Que gran banda! Yellow magic orchestra molan bastante.
Thanks so much for putting this interview up, especially with subtitless so that the people all over the world can see and appreciate how beautiful they are...!

"The Exsample of life, In old Korea."
I love this kind of interview, calm, intelligent people speaking.
Thanks MisterNormanDog!
I miss sakamoto and takahashi....
Stil have all their YMO and solo albums on vinyl....i think they make together great music in heaven...
And hosono likes it ❤
Such admiration for these gentlemen.
YMO。
thanks for uploading this great interview!!!
Thanks for uploading this cool excerpt.
Wow short and interesting interview thanks for uploading
great video, very interesting. Thanks!
What an amazing LEGENDARY trio!!! I love them so much. This is CLASS. Unlike the musicians nowadays.
Top interview, with the great YMO!
one of my favorite bands...together with Kraftwerk, jean Michel jarre, tangerine dream.
Masters of electronic music
Very wise and inspiring words
legends! gotta love em!
They seem very comfortable with themselves and very at peace, instead of looking incredibly depressed as they did in videos like Kimi Ni Mune Kun. I'm happy they seemed so positive!
Ah, a good rewatch. Good interview.
Very lovely.
Great interview
@sctaber56 And now I hear that YMO will be returning to the US this June to perform together at the Hollywood Bowl. in Los Angeles. If at all possible, I hope to be in the audience so I can experience the magic of their wonderful music live and in person! It's one of my dreams.
Beautiful people!
REST IN PEACE
Yes i want it too really its great .
Many American pop songs took from their work. Good stuff right there
They're so well dressed
*deep respectful bow*
@MisterNormanDog
I WANT ALL THE INTERVIEW!
NOW
2 in the same year, and I was just getting into the band. Terrible for music fans everywhere
they did not talk about raymond scott ? or kid baltan ?
I like "Richie" @ 5.39 as if to say.... "hey roadie, you f*cking with my settings?!"
I'll see what I can do. More shortly.
Kick ass
do they make new pieces today? I don't feel or I'm wrong
"... and then became a hippie". "Indeed". :D
What year was this?
Hikashu were doing techno before YMO, actually.

The Japanese Beatles.
did hosono say "kraftwerk-chan" at the start??
It's じゃん、notちゃん
Did Hosono and Sakamoto really fight amongst themselves?
LamboJ20 so they say. Probably very politely.
did Geddy and Alex....?
