Tims friend Darwin never played in the Mustangs. Toby Ruckert was the Mustangs guitarist. Johnny Pike was the drummer, played bass on 2 songs. Scott King was the Bassist thru 2021.Lead singer here was Maggie Adams. Chase joined in 2015 when Maggie couldn't continue. In their patreon Toby showed the recording equipment they used and described how they got the background noise out of the recordings.
Maggie Adams is on Lead vocals. Sammie is singing harmonies. This recording IS live. You can even hear a motorcycle drive by during the song. Tim does an amazing job recording. Chase didn't join the band until later. All three girls do lead vocals. Tim and Darwin also sing lead vocals. Their harmonies are incredible!
Chase didn't join F&F until years later. Yes, this was recorded live. Sort of a hallmark of the F&F's recordings has always been how well they are recorded. Maggie is the lead singer on this recording with Sammie and her father, Tim, are on backups.
Since you are confused between Maggie and Chase. If you listen to them perform "The Night Before" (live in the same parking lot) you will hear Sammie change the lyrics in the last chorus to honor Maggie who left for college the next day. Chase joined the following year and is younger than both Sammie and Maggie. For a great comparison of all three of their voices you should listen to "Telling Me Lies' (Linda Ronstadt, Emmy Lou Harris, and Dolly Parton) - ua-cam.com/video/i8LswT9ZLAs/v-deo.html. I would actually recommend you listen to the "Trio" version first. Given the talent of those 3 it is hard to believe that the F&F version is better, but it is in my opinion. F&F have at least 50 videos that are worth watching and listening to.
Hi @syrah96 - Thanks for the correction. I added a "Note" to my description of the error I made between Chase and Maggie. I gave you the kudos for the correction. Thanks for watching my video and rock on ...
