For future reference you need at least 75% of your ability meter to fully tamper. So no point in clicking tamper if you're under 70% and family is nearby cause you'll just waste all your knowledge. And if you are going to attempt a tamper without 75%, for max efficiency do the tamper mini-game to fill then press apply knowledge
