- i/o is the title track of Peter Gabriels latest album - No flashy stuff here. Just simple grooving to support the track. As always I took some liberties here and there.
I want to thank Martin Schnella for doing such a great job with the mix again.
Check him out here: / matteff2000
In this recording I use:
Tama Star Walnut Drums
Tama SLP G-Maple Snare
Meinl Byzance and Classics Custom Cymbals
Meinl Standard 5B Sticks
I'm officially endorsed by Tama (Drums) and Meinl (Cymbals and Sticks).
This is a Drum Cover of the song "i/o"' from the LP "i/o" (released 2023) by Peter Gabriel and is the copyrighted property of its owner(s).
Gabriel got such a unique way of writing catchy pop(ish) tunes in odd time - that chorus in 7 is giving me some major Scrubs vibes 🥲
Yeah you’re right. When I think about it this track is actually a nice throwback to solsbury hill 😃
Solid as always, thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching! Cheers!
the drumming is a big part of this album and this cover is excellent as usual
Thanks a lot! I´m glad you like it!
Echt toll, ich bin begeistert 😊

Thanks a lot!!
Well done Simon!
Who was the original drummer on this album?
Manu Katché
Manu Katché
Thanks a lot! @strykertube is right - Manu Katché played on all the tracks. But there is even one feature with Steve Gadd on "Live and let live"
@@SimonSchroederDrums thanks! Greetings from Belgium
I'll choose another snare drum for this song. Amazing cover amigo
Thanks a lot! I just love the crack of the 13" G-Maple when tuned so high. It was a close shootout between the G-Maple and the Reserve #6 which I´m using most of the time.
@@SimonSchroederDrums is the reserve #6 the one you used on the WoB video? Regardless. This one gives the song another sense, modern and precise
@@mcAzcrew Ah sorry, didn't see your reply until now - Yeah, I used the Reserve #6 on the WoB-Cover. Cheers!
