Millwall here - it was a dreadful game, we had the first half, you had the 2nd - we thought the ref had a mare too. No likes them. Too many fluffed shots from both sides. Ruddy looked unbeatable until we didn't just float one in at him and curled it away and bingo. In all seriousness we both should stay up. The only thing that might save the plummeting Plymouth is current goal difference which will get worse IMO. Good atmosphere from both sets of fans. Onwards.
It will be ok Tommy. The fans will get behind the home games. I said this would happen when Tony got poorly, the momentum was lost, a bit like when JE was fired. As soon as I heard he was stepping out, I knew immediately. The club has gone quiet too, it's odd, a really strange undercurrent.

It feels like nothing's going in our way atm, stuck in a rot since Mowbray's absence. We need to take our chances and get as many wins / points asap. We got 6 home games and 4 away games, which make it favourable for us. Games against QPR, Huddersfield and Rotherham are big matches we need to take points. KRO

The issue we have now is that mark venus is not a manager he’s an assistant and for good reason, the fact that we’ve pretty much Mowbray for the reminder of the season is devastating, everything is setting up just perfectly for relegation. For me there’s only one man to blame for this and that’s Garry Cooke.
I agree Venus isn’t manager material to replace Mowbray. We’ve been poor without him. Not sure if I’d pin it all on Cook but he certainly took it upon himself to get in Rooney. Disastrous decision. But still the players haven’t shown enough to prove Rooney was all at fault.
Wall fan here. Footballing wise it wasn’t a great game from either side, and I think from where we both are in the league, you could see the nervousness in both sets of players not wanting to go completely gung-ho for fear of making a mistake and letting the other side in with a chance to score! We had the better first half, and had our players had a touch more composure on the ball, we might have gone in at half time, at least 1 or 2 goals up! 2nd half was most definitely yours, but I can’t remember you having a shot on target in that 45 minutes, which kept us in the game, as we weren’t pulling up any trees either. Honestly thought that the game was gonna end in a 0-0 draw, then up pops Tango with a glancing header into the bottom corner that beats Ruddy. The ref had a shocker and the standard of refereeing in the Championship has been poor for a couple of seasons now, so you may have got a penalty with another ref but Wall fans have lost count of the number of times this season that our Jake Cooper has been pulled down, tripped, you name it, in the opposition’s box and not got one penalty from it. Yes, he’s 6’7 and I guess Refs just think that when he goes down it’s because his size goes against him, but honestly, some of the penalty decisions against him should have stood, and I reckon we’d be comfortably mid table by now! A draw would have been a fair result, but it’s a long time since we’ve won a game with almost the last kick (header) of the game, and we now have a 5 point cushion between us and Huddersfield in 22nd place, which is good as we face Leeds away next Sunday, and we’ll still have a 2 point lead on Huddersfield if we lose and they have already beaten Rotherham away the day before. Really hope Brum stay up. Like us, you’re a proper club with proper fans and with Rotherham pretty much already relegated, I’d like to see Stoke and QPR gone with them (two teams I absolutely hate!) Hopefully we’ll both be playing each other in the Championship next season. Great podcast and best wishes for the rest of the season.
We can't go down to league 1 it's an absolute dog fight in that league and we'd be every teams cup final. Just look at Charlton. And with the atmosphere of depression around Blues for the last decade it'll re really hard to even get top 6

Oddly, we have a Tuesday and a Friday game, and I can't recall us doing well when we've played close together so that's a worry. We then have Watford and we never beat them. Then it's teams like QPR and Huddersfield, Cardiff ( who we never beat either 😂) Thinking about it, perhaps it is bad 😬

@@tommykelsall Agree completely with your thoughts over the last few weeks. Relegation would be horrendous, it creates all sorts of issues, I imagine FFP being one of them. I'm no expert on this so I'm happy to be corrected, but I believe League 1 is incredibly difficult to get out of, very competitive and our team have already shown that is not their strength, as you have pointed out (good when the going is good). On that argument then, you would almost need an entirely new squad just to compete in that environment, different types of players. So going down is not an option I would choose at all. I wouldn't be surprised if the owners changed direction either. I'm not saying they would, but they could, if it's just not a viable option anymore ( I'm probably going overboard now) Let's see, Middlesbrough next, one step at a time, calmly does it, cool heads. I'm sure we'll get it right, a win next week and one of our competitors loses and it all looks different again and we talk about an outside chance of the playoffs 🤣
That first half was absolutely atrocious, nothing stuck, poor decisions, horrible positioning, no teamwork, dawdling on the ball, wayward and aimless passing, no-one running to make space, second to every ball, it was wretched. we played okay for 15 mins in the 2nd half and then seemed to coast towards a draw, to which Milwall thought fuck that, we want a win, and they did! We have to be truthful and admit that a large number of our players do have shit for brains and/or are incapable of motivating themselves to step up. Millwall played a 4/10 performance and won. It's unacceptable that with the ability available within this team that we cannot show even 20% of what we should be capable of.
This is such a low point . Sick to death of the years of frustration anxiety of fighting the drop and poor shows . Ye we could still get out of it but we deserve better . Fans wont return until it changes no matter what is promised . Tired and weary bluenose kro

What can i say - we really do look like relegation candidates right now, despite a few decent players we got, there's no leaders out on the pitch... Relegation in my view is down to the person who signed off Eustace's sacking and Rooney's appointment. Relegation will go one of two ways, we'll come straight back up as per 1995 😅OR we end up like Portsmouth or worse, Bradford..... No way to officiate that and we should’ve been given a penalty and had a chance to win the game. I agree the lineup was odd and that we do need a consistent team. But I don’t think we played that badly. Just lacking that threat in front of goal and switched off when it mattered most

@@tommykelsall I honestly think you will end up on about 53 points and avoid the drop, probably like me you have done a forecast on what clubs down the bottom will suck the large one, in my opinion Blackburn have the toughest run in but I can't decide between Sheff Wed, QPR or Plymouth will follow Rotherham and Blackburn into Division 1, I'm hoping we (Millwall) will still keep our act together but I'm not counting on it.
officials are biased against us, and have been for years,...its about time blues did an official complaint about the bias of refereeing,....as I say its not just this season,...its season after season,...we hardly ever get decisions in our favour, and that means a bias.

Don’t fancy Cook’s chances against Wagner if we’’re flushed down to League 1.
In twelve months time the same squad would be comfortably mid-table or competing for the play offs. But they lack character, they lack self-belief and they look like they will crumble under pressure. Blues are in big trouble !!!! They seem to be deluded into thinking they are better than they actually are !!!! When we won the cup that team seemed to have the same attitude & look what happened & they all soon left the sinking ship !!
It's obviously not the best team results and league position don't lie the squad are piss poor injury prone players players that no other clubs want thats why they have ended up at blues we are relegation fodder I wouldn't trust this team in league 1 they are that bad.
