I live in Canada , 4 years ago i visited Belgium because that was where my Grandfather ( fathers side ) was from . My family was about 15 miles outside Bruges but i also visited Leuven ,, Mechelen and Dinant . All these cities were amazing and drenched in history . I kick myself in the ass now after watching this video . We were going to extend our trip and Saint Petersburg or Moscow were going to be the destination . I always had images of Russia being a cold , drab depressing place . WOW was i ever wrong . Watching this video i can firmly say when we all stop being allergic to each other and international travel is not frowned upon i am most definitely visiting Russia . That bridge blew my mind and the architecture is absolutely something i must see in real life . Thank-you Cool Vision for the video and changing my perception of how Russia looks .

The USA and Europe want to manipulate their people, and they imagine an enemy from outside an the enemy is Russia. But an enemy can't be weak, because manipulated people won't see danger in it and won't obey, so the USA and Europe imagine that Russia is a strong country with powerfull army, because they need their people to afraid Russia. But in the real life, Russia isn't an enemy to anybody and it's so weak. The country is poor. Thing you call "ghetto" in the USA, in Russia is an ordinary city. So, what can you expect from country where salaries are ~300$ and prices are even higher.

I lived there for a good part of my life (from mid 90s, that was the time when Russia was truly a disastrous place to live , but was praised by the West for her "democratic" choice). Standards of living are lower in Russia, compared to the developed countries, but Russia is not poor at all. There are plenty of very VERY nice cities and towns. (I live in one of them, and I can compare it to other places as I've seen the world, traveled quite a lot when I was younger). Average cost of living in Russia is way lower (about 2.5 times lower than in USA and 2.7 times lower than in Australia, this is the World Bank data, I can just confirm that). Taxes are also lower. My salary here which is on a high side (I have 20+years of experience (telecom) is about $3000 minus 13% tax and it's higher than was my last salary in Oz 9 years ago when I moved to Russia if you take into consideration the cost of living. Also, talking about weakness of Russia. Comparing GDPs in absolute terms is meaningless, like comparing apples and oranges. The only more or less meaningful way to compare economies is by GDP(PPP=purchasing power parity). Russia is the 6-th world economy after China, US, India, Japan and Germany. Gettos? I've been to and worked in USA. I was unimpressed with the number of homeless and beggars on the streets of big US cities. To tell you the truth, in ONE day I could observe more such characters, than in my entire 9 years living in Russia. According to the World Bank, Russia is one of a few countries (there are about a dozen) with almost non-existent extreme poverty; USA is not on this list. У меня инженеры в компании получают 55-110 тыс руб, что конечно ниже чем з/п для такого уровня спецов в Австралии, даже с учётом низкой стоимости жизни, а я и не спорил на эту тему. Это в провинциальном городе около 500тыс население. Ср з/п в РФ 48 тыс руб. На этом всё. Думай что хочешь, нравится в Штатах , ну и славно, у меня никаких притензий нет=),
nonsense. Half a dozen million-plus cities are interesting for something of their own. Of course Moscow and St. Petersburg are the biggest cities in Russia and there are many attractions for tourists in one place. But there are drawbacks. The rhythm of life or climate is not suitable for everyone.
