Clear and very useful thanks! You do not seem to use the "Height increasing element for PRO tank ring" in your demonstration. I am ordering the parts for my new 1300GS and the question is does this part is not needed? Thanks so much in advance
I didn’t have that option to increase height, it only comes with a two part ring, lower part to fit to tank and upper part to secure onto it. There are some spacers (you must use them!) between the bike and the ring but apart from what you see that is all I done! This is the second SW motech ring I have fitted (previous was a r1200gs) and it is the same set up 😊

Looks really stupid hanging over like a shelf. Why didn't they design it to the tank contour?
You can order the adventure version from their website which drops over the tank better. I like the size of this one, the adventure is a decent size bigger

Just the boxes on their own or the distance from the bike if they are fully extended?

Contemplating ordering a new Tank Bag for my R1300GS (collect next week), however, given how close the fuel tank connector is to Phone compartment I was dubious this would now impede the opening of this compartment with tank bag mounted compared to the R1250GS. Is this the case?
Easily lifted off! It does hang over it with how I have mine set up BUT the motech bag is adjustable so I could change the setting on it to help solve that!
