    S8MM FILM FROM Robert Federle
    For Robert Federle, it all started in the mid 1950’s. His Grandfather worked for Railway Express Agency and as his Grandparent would babysit, he would take him trackside, and the bug had bitten.
    In the early 1970’s, Robert was driving and out and about. He started at the local rail yard and other nearby locations. Armed with a Kodak Super 8 Movie Camera, a Polaroid Land camera and a small 110 Instamatic, He started photographing trains.
    The majority of this program will be a large amount of action at rail yards, such as Pit Yard - Hamilton Ohio, Armco and WR Tower at New River in New Miami Ohio, Storrs and Gest St. Yards - Cincinnati, and Sharon Yard - Sharonville Ohio, plus some mainline running. Chessie GM50 in snow, Chessie in 1977 by Glendale, Penn Central, Southern, and DT&I through Sharon Yard, also see the American Freedom Train leaving Cincinnati on a rainy day.
    Lots of Classic Train action in and around Cincinnati and Hamilton, OH…
    Program Approx. 74 Minutes - (Total Time Approx. 112 Min.)
    No Narration - Film Projector Sound and some Music
    Bonus: Slideshow Video - 18 Min.
    Bonus: 2009 Cab Ride at Champion Papers - 20 Min.

    John Koch, I thank you for all your work on this video and am very pleased with the results. I am also glad you helped me decide to share this work with the public. I only wish I had more from that time period. Thank you again.

    Is the film really this grainy, or is this just a poor transfer?

    • @GreenFrogVideos
      @GreenFrogVideos  3 роки тому

      This film does have a good bit of grain in it, just the quality of the original film stock used mainly, also remember UA-cam video compression does not help either!

      @@GreenFrogVideos Understood, but a little temporal noise reduction may do well to help reduce the effects due to the grainy film stock. Neat Video is a great tool for helping reduce noise and overly grainy film stock

      Might also benefit from the film being cleaned prior to transfer. I see a lot of foreign material on the film surface in the transfer.

      @@JPMediaRR Your info is much appreciated, yes we actually have that program filter from Neat, it was used on some of the worst scenes in this program but not all of them due to time constraints, as rendering can take a long time with this filter as I am sure you are aware!
