My favorite song by Isaac Hayes is what does it takes from 1979 from the. Don't let go album and a instrumental called The pursuit of the pimpmobile from the truck turner soundtrack
I love Isaac Hayes AKA Black Moses, and there's nothing he has sung/produced that I don't love. He's in a league of his own. My favorites are, Walk on By, I stand Accuse, By the time I get to Phoenix, Shaft and many more ❤❤❤❤❤
The man, the myth, the legend Isaac L. Hayes, Jr. aka "Black Moses." I'm glad to be on break to view this video now. Didn't know, he was a former part owner of a basketball team. Favorite songs by him were Walk On By, I Stand Accused, and of course Shaft! He indeed needs to be inducted into the RBFOF and RRHOF also. Thanks for this story.✌🏾
You know, I just revisited Isaac Hayes' movie "Truck Turner" yesterday here on You Tube. So, it's ironic that you've conducted your research on this legendary singer, song writer, producer, and actor. My favorite songs by Isaac Hayes is "Walk On By", "Don't Let Go", "Zeke The Freak", "By The Time I Get To Phoenix", and "Shaft". Personally, I've always been a huge fan of Isaac Hayes. But I'm more impressed with Isaac Hayes the man, in terms of what he stood for. Isaac was unapologetically black, and he was a father to all of his children!
One I am from Shelbyville, flat Creek county, and I'm 63, to be 64 soon, all in GOD'S grace, so I am a fan of all music and he is now timeless, several rappers and singers has sample his original composer that says a lot
Good job, brother! I really enjoyed this commentary about the creator of the Memphis Soul sound. The Soul Children had a nice run of his and Porter's songs, too. I enjoyed going down memory lane, though. And I am so glad you focused more on all of his work other than Shaft. Peace!
Shaft Can't turn around & Don't let go r 3 of my favorite songs from Isaac Hayes. Also u forgot 2 mention he was a host of the morning show on 98.7 Kiss fm in NYC
His version of Walk On By is amazing. And Wu Tang paid tribute to it too ! Portishead pretty much stole Ike’s Rap II for their huge hit Glory Box. He was just Mr Soul Music. Thanks for your video
Stax suffered three potential death blows during that period: The unfortunate passing of Otis Redding and most of the original BarKays. Atlantic going behind Stax's back and taking their master recordings up to that point. Taking Sam and Dave back to Atlantic. Issac, along with Johnnie Taylor, saved Stax from going under because the rest of the music industry wrote them off when Otis passed.

I think my favorite, Isaac Hayes song would have to be “Walk On By,.” Even though that was originally a Dione Warwick’s song, Isaac Hayes did it Justice. I think he did it better than Dione did. Especially, since itsrecent resurgence in Tyler Perry’s movie, Meacopa. I’ll say, I was a kid when Isaac started doing his music, & even though, my mom liked him I thought his music was too long, but as an adult, I began to appreciate him!!!
Shaft… you damn right 😂😂 He was a Leo, August 20th, that’s my Mother & grandson birthday 🥳. Isaac Hayes, was very talented, he could act as well. I Love, walk on by, the instrumental does something to me. This was a great video, may Mr. Hayes be Resting In Peace💐💐💐💐
CORRECTION:
Isaac Hayes WAS Inducted Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame In 2002 And The Songwriters Hall Of Fame In 2005.

You should do a video on the TV show, "Soul Train". It not only gave R&B music a voice, it also gave it a face too.
Shaft Soundtrack is held in highest regard today. Isaac is the blueprint for artist, producer, record exec, actor and activist! Great broadcast!

The Theme From Shaft music clip you used is the remake from the 2000 reboot of the film, not the 1971 original
