All right. For those of you who own a Chicco Keyfit 30 carseat, I would like to warn you that the instruction manual is not too clear on the installation process for the carseat adapter. First off this video is only showing the adapter for a different type of carseat. After some trial and error..I realized that I was installing the Chicco/Graco carseat adapter wrong onto the stroller.
First step: I removed the seat from the stroller (easy part). You do not have to dismantle the stroller to you the carseat adapter (unless tou want togo through all the hassle). I didn't realize that I was installing the carseat adapter on the same slot that the seat goes onto. Which made me force widen the carseat adapter to make it slide into a click onto the stroller. That also made me think the adapter was too small for the stroller or even defective.
Second step:
Eventually, I realized that there was a connector that sat lower than the one from which I removed the stroller seat from. Voila!! Once I noticed it I placed the carseat adapter in it and no forcing was necessary. It clicked right into place. My excitment was beyond belief. Especially since the manual was not at all helpful with my type of carseat. The stroller comes with the connection to the adapter right inside. Which also made no need to attach the extra pieces that came with it. Mind you this is for the Chicco Keyfit30 Carseat. With that said I also did not need the bar cover that also came in the box for the carseat adapter. The adapter also had the tiny screws that the manual tell you to place in order to extend the carseat adapter bar for installation. Which again the manual was telling you to place on the bar and tighten (I would however tighten those tiny screws and bolts). Either way it was much simpler than all the lengthy instructions in the manual called for.
Lastly:
I installed the carseat and made sure it clicked right into the adapter. Then wiggled it to make sire it was not loose.
Conclusion:
No need for placing any extra pieces on the stroller once seat is removed.
No need for the black bar cover.
Just slide the adapter right into lower slots inside the stroller just below where you would connect the stroller seat. Make sire it clicks.
Finally place the carseat inside adapter until you hear a click and you are set. You may use the extra straps around the carseat for extra security. I found this useless!

Thank you for your feedback Janie! The Bumbleride Single Car Seat Adapter for Chicco / Graco is designed to work with infant car seats from both brands. You are correct, the Bumbleride Era has a separate place for car seat adapters versus the stroller seat, and the place for the seat to attach is too wide to attach the car seat adapters - you'll want to put the adapter on the lower setting that is slightly narrower and designed to support the car seat adapters.
