    You certainly can't tell what happens next. My healthy friend who went out for a walk, got ran over by a bicycle on a walking path, and hit her head, had to get head surgery, and has been in the ER for 2 months now, just transferred to another place. She was young and healthy. This was such a shock to me.

    I am 64, retired a year ago. My motto is to be a better person, be the improved version of myself ie keep learning and improving. Learning and building my belief in God has been most fulfilling in understanding meaning, purpose, and Love. Yes, life is short but we must cherish each day with our loved ones. Faith, Hope and Love. The greatest is Love. Love freely and generously.

    My dad, the rock in our family and pillar for the community passed in 2021 at the height of Covid. Our family has not been the same since. I have 5 other siblings. We have all lost something, the closeness that we once had. We are all in our 40s now and this video helped with something I have been thinking about for a while. That is to live life with purpose. Thank you.

It’s understandable that things have felt different since then. I’m glad the video resonated with you and helped spark thoughts about living with purpose. It’s a powerful way to honor your dad's memory and maybe even help bring some of that closeness back with your siblings. Thank you for sharing this-wishing you strength and peace as you navigate this journey.

      I am suddenly 76 it seems! unbelievable & somewhat strange. I don’t feel different than when I was 35 inside!! I often was startled when I happened to look at a store window or mirror in shops the reflection of an old face staring back at me! I’d studied the shape & wrinkles of my face in amusement. The current me that I have so much compassion for but not accustomed to look at just yet. I smiled at her in the looking glass and she smiled back at me as to say, “Hello, here we are, different but one of the same on this same journey of life!” ❤❤❤

      Pretty true. The risk of, for example emigrating, is that you start with no relationships. Be old and experience a tragedy at that point, which isolated you from society, and you may never make a single new relationship for the last half of you life. Not complaining, just sharing some insight I gained first hand.

    Cool, thank you ma'am Laurie. It's actually shorter than we think, coz' around 30 to 50 one becomes weaker (even if one get to be 120 years old, the 70 years coz' one is weaker and slower and one can't go to some place and events with young people, it as if one was just waiting for death for 70 or 90 years if one doesn't go spiritual) some things you won't be able to do physically or can't be ay certain places and events around people who're way younger but things & people won't fulfill, one has to go spiritual- only by doing the goodworks that Jesus truly wants (preferably via the wisdom of the Catholic Church) is the only way to a truly fulfilling life aka a living a truly full life.
    God bless.

    Good video. I’ll be 46 next month and I get some ageism on occasion because, I haven’t done much career and relationship wise. Definitely, don’t have the money I want. I sometimes compare myself to society’s standards when I know that comparison is the thief of joy. So, my plan is to really get after it in the next few years and have all those areas much better by the time I’m 50. Then, just keep building and building those areas moving forward.

    It seems you refer to life as only having one!? Live your life and be relentless. Excellent word. I would add: intention, attention, persistent, and consistent. I recognize intention as a goal or journey, apply attention to your goal, and if important enough, be persistent and consistent until whatever end is realized of your goal.
    Your life is valuable; in every way you have mentioned, but after you pass on, your physical reality may be over, but your spiritual reality is still relative, and that reality includes family in your last life. Enjoy your life as your have so aptly stated, but spirit never ends, you never end. Your heartfelt message spoke to me, and I wanted to validate you, and speak my mind in response.

    Life passes by no matter how much you live in the now. I learnt to not be so emotionally dependent on anyone. To much suffering having people in your life. Love is anxiety. Attachment is suffering. Life is suffering. Relationships are two insecure individuals that use and tolerate each other for their own selfish needs and wants all for the fear of being alone. They are all toxic on some level and narcissistically controlled by one. This is not love and this is no way to live but most and many do out of fear. All relationships are full of lies, deceit and manipulative manipulation due to hate which comes from fear. Everything we do is out of fear. If everyone truly knew what everyone was thinking then no one would have any friends and relationships would not be a thing. In the end nothing matters. We are all winging it and we are all on the same sinking boat that inevitably ends in tragedy. Drop the ego and character that you are playing and start living. We are just memories and memories are just brain tissue. When the brain dies consciousness dies and we will cease to exist. The truth about the human condition is that answers will never cure our fears, only acceptance will. It’s all about killing time until you die. Being human is mental health. Smile, you’re alive. We don’t have long

    I find this really weird. My parents weren't all that great to me and now that they are old, they are simply a pain in the butt and I do not want to spend any time with them at all. I will go to Christmas and things but it is not fun for me and all I want to do is get the heck out of there. I also do not date women because it is too much work and again, it is a pain in the butt. I live alone, have a great job, love to exercise and ride around on my numerous toys and I am not lonely one bit. I eat well and am typically super healthy, I talk with people at work but otherwise I am 100% alone and I absolutely love it! I am truly living my best life ever when I realize that people drain me of my energy and I do not really get anything from others. I get my energy from riding my electric unicycle through the mountains or hiking and being alone in nature.

    Spending time with God every morning, in His Word which is life giving, sets me up for the day. Once you know the Lord Jesus by spending time with Him daily, you will know your identity in Christ and you will have answers in all areas of your life. The Bible is the only book of wisdom, all life answers are in this book. Christianity is not a religion but a two way relationship with God. Seek His face and continually be in the Word. When you spend time with Him, you will have a peace that goes beyond all human understanding. A peace that the world system will never give you. Once you start speaking what God says about anything in your life, which you find in His Word, when trials come your way, you will know how to ride through it as He always gives you wisdom. Ask and believe that you have received it.

    If I am older, alone in this world with no family, no close trusted friends, no one to love or being loved, what I must do? ( volunteer my time & such I already doing but once go home empty hearted, alone again )

    • @lauriexwang
      @lauriexwang  5 днів тому

      That sounds incredibly challenging, and it’s natural to feel the way you do. You are doing some great things for your community by volunteering. While volunteering is a wonderful way to connect with others, it's also good to focus on building meaningful relationships. Consider joining a club or group that shares your interests or hobbies. Maybe seeking out community programs or local events might help you find people with similar experiences and interests. You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to reach out to others. Thanks for sharing your story ❤️
