I like how Starmie and Alakazam are debated as the most powerful Pokemon in Quest, considering that they were amongst the best Pokemon in R/B competitive.
@@RaidenDisNots early game? 100% alakazam or well Agra because if you do 3 blue and 2 yellow small berries it’s a 100% chance of getting a bra and with a couple of tries you should get a good abra to evolve but staryu you need a bunch of different type of berries or 1 red 1 yellow and 3 blue for a 16.67 % chance to get one so early game go for abra
Staryu gets attracted by the same recipes that attract psyduck. Golduck gets the slightly worse bingo bonus of +25% on water moves and bingo bonus for psychic type moves. Both learn psychic and Starmie has it stab. Also on the water type recipe you can get Tentacool, which also learns hydro pump, and Poliwag, that can learn bulk up and mega punch. Also Tentacruel gets two different moves that can confuse the enemy (most op strategy in the game when luck is on your side). You can pretty much use that recipe to built your entire team in your quest for hydro pump starmie.
In Quest, it's more like: use who can hit the hardest and have a mon with Bulk Up. There are other strategies, but in the end it just seems to be better to just muscle through everything.
Thank you! This video blew my mind. I retrained my Lapras and Vaporeon and hydropumped my way through Mewtwo. First Pokémon I got from the gold pot was a perfect Staryu! 7 attack slots, 2 muti slots and water wait time and attack bonuses.
Was I just lucky or something when I got Staryu from a basic yellowish soup with the basic coocking pot. 5 ATK, 4 HP slots. And the bingos were: Movement speed +30% Water-type moves wait +15% Water-type moves wait +20% Good or bad?
There should be a separate island all together for gen 2, with all pokemon starting at level 1 just for this island (no gen 1 pokemon can go in this island) so basically you have 2 different save files but different generations I don't know if I'm making sense but I know what I mean lol
Amazing, I hav 2 shiny Starmies! And I finish the game thanks to one with Psychic with 3 slots. Thanks @Verlisify for posting this, definetly I will max my other Shiny Starmie to lvl 100!!! Cheers!
@@Verlisify for me vaporeon with hydro pump is better, it is harder to get but it is so bulky and if you get and insane power stone set up(like me i got half of them health and half damge) you can complete the game in less than 3 days
By skipping 22 hours (or 1 day), you can get wild Pokemon in your base really fast - they make for decent fodder and cost no expeditions or resources to get!
I've been saying from the beginning and I'll still say it now. The absolute best team is Zapdos Thunder, Mewtwo Bulk Up, Starmie Hydro Pump. Zapdos has higher BST than Magnezone and Thunder is busted. Starmie has the highest ATK bst that can also have a strong 30% bingo and STAB as far as HYdro Pump is concerned. Blastoise was a contender as well, but is a balanced stat mon.
I was trying to make a mulligan stew a la cube and accidentally made a mouth watering dip a la cube LEVEL 70 SHINY STARYU 1 MOVE SLOT HYDROPUP SILVER COOKING POT PERFECT BINGO BONUSES. MY BROTHER POSTED IT ON TICTOC I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LUCY I CAN'T BELIEVE IT.
Me getting staryu almost every time making a rare mouth watering dip a la cube it was so easy it’s now starmie and it had hydro pump I just wanted to move it’s learning and I was so surprised from that
even though you said this 4 years ago and yo7 talk to high ups in Nintendo ask them why do they only update china version like they have groudon aand we have starme
I got an Abra with a perfect bingo bonus (-psychic types move wait, - psychic types move wait, + atk or psychic-type moves) and 1 move with 3 stone slots (now kadabra with psychic) but it has 8 spaces for atk stones and only 1 for hp. Would this be a good alakazam or will it just die way too easily and not be usable?
It is okay, maybe put a bunch of less time to recover on it to keep it alive. I have made a lot of alakazams and I should say hydro pumps are still far better than psychic/psycho cut on any alakazams. If you want to run kazam tho, there's a mixed opinion on which move to use as both moves are quite good. My preference would be psychic, but suits you
I don't know a single thing about Pokémon Quest and am really not planning to get into it, but I do know that those are ridiculous numbers coming from a Starmie. Starmie is best Psychic-type *confirmed!*
Is Rhydon or golem better as a tank? Or is there a better tank? I am a newby and my team now is scyther, kadabra and rhydon and I am trying to change scyther for machamp. Is this team worth to commit on it for story or should I consider other options?
Well if you want a well rounded(but still OP) team then you should use 1.Alakazam(Damage) 2.Machamp(Support, tank, and does amazing damage with good bingo bonuses) 3. Either Rhydon or Charizard with good bingo bonuses(Well balanced with Splash damage attacks) : On Charizard teach him flamethrower and add Scattershot stones, Literally the 5 flame thrower damage is unreal(Especially with Machamps Attack boost)
Thank you for still being here after my slight hiatas from Pokemon. Making it easy to pick back up again. I left because sun and moon sucked, and so I had to bail. I'm hoping it's going to kill it on the switch
Porygons not the strongest in raw stats but is versatile with it's move options, I got a shadow ball with 3 whack whack stones. ratatas and the like make for decent fodder for move learning. If the bingo bonuses are all the normal move boost, tri attack would be viable.
For Starmie's 3rd bingo slot, is it better to have "Water-type move wait -15%" or "ATK of Water-type moves +30%"? I have 2 Starmies, one with each option.
Starmi is similar to alacazam but with 50 points taken from attack and put into hp. Also for all fully evolved mons you have a 700-800 base state total for the good ones and less for the early mons
Is there any place someone has received broad burst stones? I need some for my starmie's hydro pump. ik it may be random drops but i'd prefer starting of someplace solid.
Staryu and starme sound like the Beatles. "I love staryu, you love starme, I say hi, you say low, you say fire, and i say go go GO." See base it and my singing voices sound like a dying cat. Sorry.
Hushed Highland boss is the best place to farm before happenstance island, and starmie with hydro pump 1whack 2 and broad, is unbeatable, i would go for 3-4 health though.my starmie also has a 25% cooldown so it spams huge hydro pumps all game

No wonder spongebob is so sad
Starmie has always been my #1 favorite pokemon, and it's finally receiving praise.
In red and blue it was one of the best Pokémon
I guess that in Pokemon Quest, you can't say that it all comes down to strategy, unlike most other games....

Colin Steven I just button mash most of the time.
Colin Steven Its the opposite of strategy. My Alakazam is mentally disabled and decides to walk past my Golem to get 1 shot. Super frustrating.
KOL ahahaha this. This is annoying as hell. Im actually thinking of relearning teleport for this reason
KOL Kind of ironic if you think about it, since Alakazam is supposed to have an IQ of over 9,000 (*insert Dragon Ball Z joke here*)
my Dragonite can easily do 60000+ damage each hit
Wow. That means I got a perfect Staryu as my 4th pokemon and I didnt even know it was good...

My brother has a SHINY STARYU and bruh did I found out that when it evolves, it's the best so I guess my brother will be very lucky :)
I grinned for 7 hour and opened over 51 gold pots still counting to get one perfect staryu
I got my first Staryu, and it was a shiny lmao
Cool!
Was it bad?
Same, it was triple slotted but when I evolved it it didn’t get the good bingo bonus
Geodude in pokemon quest is cubedude :D xD
koka kola Geocube!
ok
Glad you made a video about this. I was seeing forum posts about Hydro Pump being the best offensive move in the game.
deirhese66 I need it for my Blastoise 😥
I have not been able to find a single hydro pump yet, I have the perfect staryu, just can’t get hydro pump
Does it matter what pot you use? I haven’t been able to get a starmi with hydro pump
Josh Hodges on the seribii website thing, it says staryu (unevolved) moveset does not contain Hydro Pump, but starmie can learn it
Staryu can’t learn Hydro Pump, only when its evolved you can move train it and with rng you can get Hydro Pump
OH MY GOD I USED ONE STARYU RECIPE AND I GOT 2 WITH A BONUS THIRD
Great video verlisify. I really enjoy your videos, and thanks for letting us know how great starmie is!

Two pkmn with bulk up gives you more boost? I think you just need 1 pkmn with bulk up, you dont get double boost..
It stacks, but its most effective with 1 bulkup

You would think a demon cat Pokémon (mewtwo) to be the best in Pokémon quest. But no just a starfish.
Bodzilla O with the power to kill giant birds and 2 magical cats
My team runs on amniesa and alakazam and dragonites dragon rush and psybeam
Starmie is a freaking death star i swear

been rolling with Starmie, Likitounge and Mewtwo. carving up.

liar who would trash a shiny lol
What stones did you end up using on starmie with hydro pump?
BigJimGene can someone tell us please thanks
brocolli potato 2 broadburst and 1 whack whack stone 👍
BigJimGene Thanks :)
How can i have this Hydro Pump skill?
Ideal is 2 Broadburst 1 Whack Whack. The more Whack Whacks you have, the more you miss, because Starmie goes backwards with each cast.
Awesome video versily 😃
Where do you play Pokemon Quest on PC?
I got a staryo which i evolved it into starmie but why is getting hydro-pump for this pokemon so hard?
Couldnt just directly say "the damage is awesome" ? Waited for a whole time to know its good
How do i find the stats as in 4:24?
I love how starmie is the best pokemon because both staryu and starmie are my favorite pokemons
Whats The Name Of The Website For The IVs And Moveset ?

lol he just arrived at my base like "Hi!"
