Almir Thank you for your efforts and providing this nuanced documentary about Turkiye's economy!
As a Turkish Muslim it is really easy, If you know your heritage, your history and your religion you choose the way of Erdogan and his mindset. If you are against this, then of course you will start barking against everything the man does. Turkiye had no economic foundation from 1920 till 1999. Coups, terror, and a volatile economy made it difficult for Turkiye to develop. The old government even hindered projects like Devrim (Turkish first car) and Vicihi Hurkus (Turkish first aircraft creator). Another example of old Turkiye: In the 50s we helped South Korea against North Korea. They were in a really bad state, just like Syria nowadays. But years later South Korea has passed Turkiye in a long shot. Why? Because of bad governance.
So in 2001 Erdogan and his party came to power, and did everything they could to change the country. The infrastructure boomed, hospitals, universities, airports were made more in the last 20 years than over last 80 years!!! We have recently found our own gas and oil fields and started a nuclear powerplant! No racism against Kurds and Muslims under Erdogan rule aswell.
Of course, this is a really short version of why I and many Turks prefer Erdogan over the opposition. Erdogan gave the Turkish people confidence and vision, which they really needed!

I think real problems of Turkey under Erdogan started after mavi marmara massacre by Zionist forces. The strong position taken by Erdogan led to protests 2013 and PKK, and then coup.
The story is still written, but I think in the future, this will be seen as the start of new opening new less than the opening of Constantinople.

I was in istanbul just last April and the driver who took me from the airport to my hotel was complaining about the economy and indirectly blaming Erdogan and his government, I knew he was one of those I call " grand-child of Ataturk", a few other people I encountered had the same discourse. When the elections came , I really didn't think Erdogan would win with some many inside enemies but he proved me wrong. I pray that if he is from the muttaqun that Allah grant him success and he is from the taghun then to bring someone with taqwa to lead Turkey to the right path

Thank you for your efforts. As a Türk living abroad, I felt like more time could have been spent on why people claim Türkiye's economy is in trouble and why you believe they are wrong. How do you think the Lira can become valuable again? Is it also true that there has been an increase in privatization and sale of Turkish properties to foreign entities? I don't see that as a good thing. I would have also liked to have seen more backstory on Türkiye's recent political and economic history, such as Kemal Derviş' and the IMF's role in Türkiye's economic recovery in 2002, the ideological split between Erdoğan and former Prime Minister Necmettin Erbakan, who used to be Erdoğan's mentor, and the economic changes that took place after the 2014 election.

It's fascinating that over the weekend the Turkish finance minister said Turkey will return to a rational orthodox economic approach in tackling inflation and increasing prosperity. That seems to be at odds with President Erdogans approach of pushing growth whatever the price is for inflation and the exchange rate of the lira.

I came here looking for the history of why everything has been incredibly unaffordable recently and the root causes of inflation. Instead this guy just shows charts going up and interviews CEOs making millions of dollars about how everything is actually going great (for them). Why were the young people's responses at the start of the documentary never addressed? The only part where any real problem was brought up was within the context of agriculture where he showed a misleading graph (35:40) representing the change in inflation rather than the absolute inflation rate to make it look like everything is back to normal again when in reality it's just back to its previous rate of increase after a massive spike and nothing has gone back to the way it was.
This entire video is a psyop about how economy is actually totally fine and all the young people are... wrong about feeling worried? All the charts being discussed explain how the economy is going great for the government but not how it affects the lives of the average person. There are real points being made too but Erdogan's economic reforms of 2004 aren't exactly relevant to most people's lives today so it makes no sense to me why that was constantly brought up and none of the very real problems people who aren't CEOs face today.

  • @Hornscope
    @Hornscope Місяць тому

A lot of Turkish people are worried too much about inflations, but they don't observe the bigger picture and how turkey developed so fast since Erdogan came to power.
The west want turkey to be subservient to them and not have economic development and independent political future.
I hope Turkey expand their interest in Africa and the rest of the world. WW3 will most likely happen within the next 30 years, so it's very important for turkey to buy and accumulate more gold for their nation's future.
Coming wars are signs of major Qiyamah, but most people are headless to prepare for it.

    Origin of the name Thrace
    Assoc. Dr. Haluk Berkmen
The name Thrace means Tur-Ok(Arrow)-oyu (HOME), and the name Thrace was formed by combining the names of Tur and Ok (Arrow) tribes that settled in the region. Because the Tur and Ok people were two Turkish tribes speaking the same language and having the same social structure. The name Tur-Ok > Török > Türk. So both Tur's and Ok's (Arrows) were Turkish-speaking tribes. These two peoples founded the city of Sparta. Sparta was established both in the Greek region and in Anatolia(Turkey) and still continues to exist as Isparta in Turkey.
The people called Dor, who came from the north and settled in the Thrace region, are actually the people of Tur. Turlar, (Tur's) namely the Dorians, spread to the Aegean islands and coasts. Their first arrival BC. It starts from 4000 years. The Ok tribes that came to the region were called Akalar. The name OK is pronounced nasally as OKH. Indigenous people also changed this name to Akha. from the region of northern Greece called Akhea. (Akhea and Troyans actually Turks fighting Turks)
Between 1300 and 1200 they formed a confederation called the Aka Union. The Tur and OK people ruled the region for a long time, as they came to the region on horses and knew how to make iron weapons..
National Geographic Turkey, December 2006, page 99. The following words are included in the magazine:
The name Spartacus means "Spartan" and it is understood that its origin is Tur (Doric).
Children were raised in a military discipline in the city of Sparta, which the Dorians established in the Peloponnese.
When children reached the age of six, they were taken from their families to be resilient and healthy, and they were circulated from region to region.
The word "Spartan" is still used in western languages to mean "person with great courage and discipline". Sparta's strongest rival was the city-state of Athens.
Wars broke out between Athens and Sparta because of Athens' policy of wanting to occupy and unify the entire region. The struggles, which started in 431 BC and lasted for 27 years at intervals and known as the “Peloponnesian Wars”, lasted until the MacedonianTurk emperor Alexander.
We understand from the word "Turkid" in his name that even Thucydides is from the people of Tur. The reason why he tells about the Peloponnesian wars from the beginning is that these wars deeply affected the peoples of the region. Because before the wars began, both the Athenians and the Spartan Tours were in their heyday. Other cities supported either side

What he is telling is, many people whom he met on the road, are saying that they don't have money to spend for their daily needs. But, these people are wrong because GDP growth and gini coefficient and other metrices (apart from inflation the stability of lira) are telling otherwise. These people need to educate themselves on how to measure economy. The whole documentary was like an election propaganda!

Appreciate the effort, but as someone outside Turkiye I was also hoping to hear from the other side. The average Turkish person is feeling an economic pressure, we can see this with the interviews with average people. so, why is that ?
I really don't like the narrative that all is good, and it is just propaganda. Propaganda of course has a role, but in the end, high bills , inflation and soaring prices are not propaganda.
What are the reasons for those ? Why the lira crashed ? Why the inflation exploded suddenly?

I have finished this video. You have said nothing about the taxation system. Isn't it part of the Türkiye's inner economy? On the international level the country does look good, but inside. You say that the retailer puts the prices high, but you skip Special Usage Taxes invented by Erdoğan. We have those even on drinkin water! Tell me, do you consider water to be somethings special or crucial? Try tracking where do our taxes go. The reports are quite challenging to reach. Comparing graphics and interviewing few makro business owners isn't an accurate research. Unfortunately this is not an accurate story of Türkiye's economy. This research is pragmatic and one sided

Ha ha ha! If Turkey were so successful why the complete reversal of economic policies? Merry Lynch, Goldman Sachs and CFR trained people appointed to the top positions of the economy. It is foolish to visit the companies that make money in any case instead of cash constrained poor people that is at least 70 million. Turkey's mistake is always to only support people and companies that make export goods which is at most 200.000 people and leave 80 million to poverty. The correct policy would be to increase first income of the fixed income people then increase production of goods that these people would buy (instead of export goods) like Erbakan did. However, guess who made Coup d'état from within his party and divided his political party after the secular military made Coup d'état and overthrow his government. People still fondly remember Erbakan and deeply regret that did not stood by him. At least, Erbakan did not recite Quran in public and then acted against Quran.
