2021 PETCO Awards - Local Authority Recycling Innovation: City of Cape Town

The award in this category is important because it recognises the importance of strong leadership from local authorities in addressing waste reduction behaviour and helping to extract and capture value from resources that would be otherwise lost.
The City of Cape Town (CoCT) is the joint winner in this category . The CoCT has implemented various large- and small-scale projects which are worth celebrating as they all work to ensure that access to waste exchange between different sectors and communities is made much easier, and that waste to landfill is minimised.
