So... What Happened to LEGO Movies?

- In this video I discuss what happened to LEGO Movies, as during the mid 2010's it seemed as though LEGO Movies were dominating the box office. With The LEGO Batman Movie and The LEGO Ninjago Movie, LEGO was quickly producing a number of different spinoff ideas that seemed like the future of LEGO movies would be bright. However over the past 5 years we haven't seen any new movies at all, with the only film under universal releasing in just a few months, however it's nothing like we've seen before, being a LEGO documentary. Anyway I hope you enjoyed the video, and let me know in the comments what you think of this!
This video is only discussing the theatrical LEGO movies starting in 2014. However I will be looking at older LEGO Animated movies in the future!
@@LegoManCam Sure, you had to explain yourself hours after the video was uploaded for why Clutch was left out. We’ll remember this
I hope and pray Disney doesn’t pick it up they’ll ruin it like marvel stage 4-5 and Star Wars
@@JulianTheJediwut
@@JulianTheJediit's because the comments were saying where was that film so he said why he left it out
Got the thumbnail wrong, the ninjago movie came out September 22 2017 not 2018
Where’s Clutch Powers?
That's what I said
Oh, what a movie, my nostalgia
Frrrr
@@JulianTheJedi He was talking about thearetical movies not Direct-To-DVD ones
I can answer that: they got worse and worse, less and less compelling, lost money, no more until there is an idea compelling enough to make.
maybe if Disney gets the license, we can finally get a Lego Spiderman Movie.
Disney doesn't need to own everything.
Or maybe Sony
There was barely any marketing for Piece by Piece. Some people still don't know that film exists. The only marketing was the tons of tv spots on Twitter. AND IT COMES OUT IN 2 WEEKS!!!
Oh gosh I hope Illumination doesn’t get the license for Lego!
The fast decline did feel very odd and noticeable to me. IMO it started AFTER the beginning musical sequence in Lego Batman. But I will always respect the more accurate representation of minifig animations than everything previously, where they latter would feature them with elbows and such that they aren't really supposed to have
Man I loved the Lego movies as a kid, the Lego Ninjago Movie got me back into Lego and made me buy the 2 most expensive sets of the line haha
Bionicle: Mask of Light?
Clutch Powers?
Bionicle: Legends of Metru-Nui? Legend Reborn? Web of Shadows?
I think he is discussing theatrical movies.
GREAT LEGO MAN CAM WHAT HAPPEN TO LEGO MOVIES.
Thearetical Movies not Direct-To-DVD ones
I don't think pharell deserves a movie
Like ok he makes music but what's with that?
💀💀💀💀
He has made your childhood music you probably didn't know he made
never let bro cook again 💀
Ninjago 2
Hell no!
@@deontaebates6656 hell yeah, the ninjago movie is extremely overhated
It's been five past years since my former love on Lego (both toys and animations) after how disappointingly boring the Ninjago movie destroyed my life and I also quit watching Ninjago and other lego animations and I quit loving Legos forever in my life since 2018 until when Lego Movie 2 finally came out and I was happy but still upset as I never wanted to see it since it already became wasted potential that I've waiting for the sequel to happen and lego animations still drove me insanely mad crazy, and it also flopped as well causing people to lose respect of the franchise and Warner Bros finally stopped making Lego movies and sold them away to Universal and I was very upset that they're not even making a Lego Movie 3 to happen, I then grew out of Lego since 2019 until 5 years after my hatred on it, until now I'm starting to feel forgetful and feel like wanting to see Lego again (including Ninjago) and it feels different than I remember years back, and thankfully Universal finally get to release a new Lego movie but it wasn't like the previous films from the last decade but this time it was a biopic of a modern day singer and I gave a very mixed reaction but it looks fine as I didn't expected and I don't really had to see it anyways but wanting to know if it will be any good as I hope it would be, and that's my whole story
My favorite channel on youtube
He won't reply you know
Thanks for the support!
Never knew the universal license run out next year jezzzz could’ve done a Lego dreamworks film or fast&furious or jurrasic world 😂
I know Disney own a lot but with all the IP they have I think they are the best company to own the Lego film rights imagine a marvel Lego movie 🤯
The LEGO® Batman™ Movie released February 2017 not March
Ah ok, I did the Australian release date because thats where I'm from :)
The Pharrell Williams Lego movie is such a terrible idea. People who like lego animated movies who also want to watch a documentary about a music producer has to be microscopic compared to the audience they would have reached by doing two movies instead.
Who asked
Illumination is owned by Universal... so your statement at the end makes absolutely no sense. Also you entirely forgot some Lego movies that were being made but ultimately got cancelled including The Billion Brick Race and The Lego Batman Movie 2. In addition, your thumbnail has incorrect information, the Ninjago movie came out in 2017. You should take this video down and reupload it with these mistakes fixed as to not spread misinformation.
I hope warner bros gets the license again
They sadly won't
@@deontaebates6656I mean Universal has been wasting their precious 5 year contract that is set to expire in 2025, so it’s possible that WB snatches the rights back once it expires, unless if Paramount & Disney go fast mode and/or the contract extends
the redesigns for the Ninja in the movie are the biggest downgrades in history.
Honestly gotta disagree, besides Kai and Jay’s redesigns, the movies ones were better. Just so much more interesting
@@ClassicStudStudiosnaahhh, the redesigned Jay is way better!
The movie redesigns are a lot better. They give each ninja a unique face and hair piece that makes them stand out and eventuates their design a lot more.
Wtf ru yappin bout???
Hi I’ve always liked your videos but now I’m taking myself away from Lego, I’ve sold most of my Lego and I’m breaking the addiction…thanks for making great videos, keep going and you’ll go far.
With that said I’m acting like I’m in an airport and announcing my departure, unsubbing from all Lego channels…all the best. 🫡
Many thanks for always being a frequent viewer and commenter! Appreciate the kindness and good luck stopping your lego addiction, time to save some money!!
