I was a full-time carer to my father for nearly 20 years and since he passed away, I have been taking care of mum who has leukemia. I've never really had time to take care of myself. This is something I would really love to do after mum goes, to give myself a chance to heal from the trauma and get healthy again. I don't know if I will have the courage, but seeing other females travelling alone, is encouraging. Best of luck to you. 🥂
There are plenty of female solo travellers out there, you wont be alone.. And I too had a caring role, do your home work, look listen and go for it.. good luck..
I absolutely love your bus. Its different than all those fancy new vans. I like the shape, the windows, the paint job.....I love it all! And I think you are very wise to have a toilet, even if you think you will only use it for emergencies.......and the shower....well done! Its just simply perfect. I could drive away with it and not change a thing! Safe travels my dear......and have loads of fun!
Great video Rhiannon. The bus looks like a cosy home. I converted several vans in my life (I am 79) and know how much planning goes into the initial stages. Good to see an Aussie conversion.
Breath of fresh air seeing a young Aussie doing something like this! Safe travels and hopefully I might see you on the road in our beautiful country, Josephine at Rockhampton Qld Australia 💚💛💚
You and your van, are adorable. Did you design it? I can not beam to see things before they are done, or done wrong. Thank you for sharing, and showing your beautiful home..
This is amazing, fresh and best layout !!! I love your comforter, colors and print, would love to find one as that!! Be safe ,God be with you young lady!!!
Wonderful design !! , did you have a problem with roof rust ? , my civillian had insulation in the roof and caused lots of rust , somehow moistute got in the roof cavity
What an amazingly well designed and tastefully finished bus you have sister. Absolutely love it. Not only have you saved weight with the cut-outs in your bed base but you have totally avoided incubating the dreaded black mould in and under your mattress as they also function to allow air to circulate and evaporate the bodily moisture we produce at night when we sleep. (Yep ... it's not just sweaty sex that dampens the sheets) So many earnest bus/van life newbies totally overlook the inevitable mould proliferation problem by installing solid bed bases ... and time and time again I see a lack of commonsense typically manifesting in failing to realise what a big issue mould will become ... sigh. You have, by default, already got that sussed. The extra space your bus affords compared to say, a Mercedes Sprinter, is incredible. It is a perfect layout In My Humble Opinion ... what a fabulous job you and your family have accomplished. Nice to see what can be achieved with the 'runty-in-comparison to US Schoolie bus' conversions here in the antipodes ... your Mintie is delish.
Hey loved this video and your humour. Good on you and family for getting all this together for you. I'm looking at doing something similar for myself, in a nissan civilian, why your vid popped up. Where did you get your mozzie screens made up, or did you do them yourself?
Great work,,,,very smart and works. If you head north direct sun heat will be a challenge for you but sure you will over come it. Just an idea install rope rack rail on drivers side so you have the opportunity to add shade sail to it. Having solar that’s portable to will help bc you will pack under trees when you can. G8 vid with simple ideas and professional finish, well done.
absolutely one of a kind , down to earth conversion , kudos to your famaliy for helping , they must love you, 3,000 with 56,000 miles, and you wonder y education is so expensive ,lol.
So cool! It’s great to see a video about bus life here in Aus. You mentioned that you don’t stay in caravan parks very much so I wondered where you stay as watching the U.S. van life videos I always wonder how it would translate to travelling around Aus and where you could legally stay for free?
aside from roadside places and reserves where you can stay for free, usually time limited and best if you are self contained, you can stay on people's land..however, there are alot of places you can stay that still cost. Van parks are just one place where you will have to pay to stay.
Hey Rhiannon, Great build. Love the old civilians, they don’t get as much credit as Coasters or Rosas. I have a quick question, do you know how much heavier Mintie is ? And if it impacts your handling or fuel economy much ? Is there lightweight materials you used ? Cheers Hope ur travels are still epic. Chris 👍 🚎
Not sure she'll be checking the comments on this video, but I've popped a link in the description for her instagram. I'm sure she'll answer your questions if you send her a message there. 😀
I spent 28 years in the military and I watch these videos and they make me want something like that RV, but the problem is it's like buying a house everybody's in their twenties and has great credit or family builts it I have no desire for one of the new RVs that look like something Elvis might drive. What I wouldn't do for something like this, Solid there is so much of the United States I haven't seen especially with the virus going on you could really self isolate
I would add a small bthrm sink 4 teeth brushing and and hand washing....if U only wash your dishes every Couple of days aweek d leave them in the sink... how do U manage those things?🤔
I imagine it would be expensive to run the pipes for another sink. Send Rhiannon a message on Instagram! I'm sure she'd love to answer your questions. 😀
What young men in Australia,....could possibly NOT want to meet this woman out for dinner I ask you all? She's tough, sweet, lovely to look at...and would make a great mother in time. Are you kidding? Lovely vid Rhiannon. You're a "choice" pick young adult ahh!
I was injured in Iraq so me doing the work is out up the question, and I have no family and being retired I can afford to pay someone to build something like that but it's nice to dream
Oh yeah, baby! You got the groove. Very nice and cozy. Man...I love this bus. Everything is so lovely inside. I don't mind to own one like this. I love the color inside. Very organized too. Love the kitchen by the window. That's amazing! You got everything inside. I prefer living in a bus than an apartment or a house. Wish you the best luck whatever you go on the trip. Smart purchase for $3,000! You got everything you need there. Everything is simple and basic. I can't wait for my van life, but yours is BIGGER! Thumb up! She is very beautiful too and I love her personality. Single? Ha. Just joking.
OMG, Rhiannon your bus is so beautiful........BUT i don't know or if you follow Max and Occy, please, please, please, please, look them up, he has an Australian Shepherd that he has been waiting for to come back from Canada for 10 long, long, long.lonely months. i am 110% you 2 would get on like a house on fire, even as friends......to begin with.Truly i'm not some mad nutcase but just as a favour to me if your not already just look him up. i know he;s having a short hiatus from vlogging but he is the most coolest, authentic, generous, kind hearted etc.etc guy around.By the way this is my Dads account that i use.Max drove from Canada to the base of South America of course with Occy and ex partner who really is very nice, anyhow i digress i am sure you 2 could meet up as he has just finished his second van buildout which is a friggin beauty.SO,so,sorry for rambling.ps i hope your still single, Cheers from Barb in Tweed Heads, just 5 minutes south of QLD Boarder.Happy and safe travels, also anyone else here who agrees please drop us a comment,Happiness and good health to you all.
