We loved it there! It was such a great place and we hope to go back. All the positive comments and suggestions from the locals watching our videos make us want to go back even more!
@4:10 Holger danske as he is called not only a national myth from the viking age, but his williness to rise to defend Denmark in its time of need, also inspried a danish resitance group during ww2 to name themselfes after him. And the casemates of Kronborg, also fuctioned as a barracks as well as a prision. And yes, they are very dark 😅
Great vlog, kudos for cramming all that into one day. In don’t think I would have gone for more than two locations myself. Hope you got to wind down at the end of the day. You’ve definitely deserved to put your feet up and have a cocktail or two
Thanks! We wanted to see and do as much as we could while we were there, so the exhaustion was worth it! We did have a Carlsberg or two after though. We hope to go back to Denmark soon to get to see and do so much that we missed!
Hi thanks fpr posting your lovely visit! By the way, you mentioned that you have downloaded on your phone, I'm assuming, a self-guided tour. Would you mind sending the link of the free download? Much appreciate it!
When I visited Frederiksborg Slot with my then 10 yo daughter many years ago, after a while she asked "Do we have to look at any more dead kings? Can't we just leave?"
Good video. I’m visiting Denmark next month but plan to visit Frederiksborg on one day and Helsingborg/Louisiana a second day. At Louisiana, did you walk from the train station or was there a shuttle bus? I’ll watch more of your videos.
Yes, the Copenhagen Card gives access to all public transit in Copenhagen and nearby cites! You can see the whole coverage area here: copenhagencard.com/free-public-transportation. It was great that we didn't have to pay anything extra our whole day. The card covered all our transportation and entrance to the castles and art museum.
Shakespeare had actors at his theater who had worked at Kronborg. At that time, the Danish court was plagued by intrigues. So maybe the play is a comment to the danish court. Perhaps the play is commenting on the bad sides of power and powerlessness.
I'm from Japan. I want to go to Denmark someday. I love Copenhagen! I love Kronborg castle. It's very beautiful city.

Roskilde Cathedral is also worth a visit.

Great vlog! We are planning to visit these 3 places in a one-day trip too. How long did you spend in each of the places?

i live in DK and i can say that getting a train is the most easy way to get around for the most part.
take the train from helsingør to humlebæk and ur basically there
Can you use the city pass for the train to get to the castles?
No, Frederiksborg and Kronborg are in Hillerød and Helsingør, which are seperate cities from Copenhagen

What is the app called for the Frederiksborg Slot audio guide?
The slot has its own app, Smartify. You just get it when you get your tickets. Enjoy your time there!
