…because he was focused on doing the primary job of the conductor-being there for his musicians. Are you a conductor? Ever try to line up a brass ensemble and timpanist with a choir 15 feet behind them and an organist 30 feet behind the choir (not to mention that the organ sound is likely coming from a different direction). All involved did a fine job. If all you can take away from this strong performance of a very challenging work is that the conductor missed a bar, I think you’re missing the forest for the trees.
very loudly: and I can’t say anything more, but this is clearly not Bach. To perform Bach you need talent, and if there is no talent, then you can perform a "shout of joy"
It’s sad that people might read comments like this and assume that any of your assumptions are correct. You can love Bach and also love Spirituals, Gospel music, American music, etc. You can love all music without being snobby about what you prefer, or putting down that which you don’t understand. Any church would be very blessed to have this talent gifting this music to the congregants at their Easter service.
God bless you Mr Ottley for blessing us with such beautifull music.🙏
Nice effort. Not enough people try this one.
The angels are singing with them. Thanks
