Thanks Johny. Easy to understand build as usual. Your open world builds are easy to play, understand and good sustain. You are my goto youtuber for OW builds. Thanks !
Thanks Johny! I loved your last mech build so much I pretty much made it my main for PvE stuff. Looking forward to playing around with the other options in this video!
I'm only couple weeks into gw2 or 70ish hours... I've played a lot but I found your necro reaper video and learned so,e things and its the class I'm working on now and I'm enjoying it but soon I'll ma,make, another character and engineer is what I'll go with it's just to awesome
Loaded it up on a mech I have with mostly cele gear just to get a feel for it. Really smooth, very nice bursts. I'm going to have to seek out some harder enemies to see what happens when the fight is prolonged. lol Right now my little Gizmo is killing things pretty fast.
Thanks again for the video and the time you give us in making it!! I would appreciate if you make one video about the pachted Scrapper in dmg and heal!? See you on border*wave* Tink
hey, awesome and good video! i m newbie just try your suggestion cheap build yesterday and its awesome for me, I want to try ascended full set gear build can you suggest for me? and for second weapon can I use rifle instead of pistol
Glad you liked it! If this build worked for you and you liked it, you can go for the main build version for ascended. And I don't recommend using rifle with this build as Rifle is more for power builds, while this one is a condi build gw2skills.net/editor/?PewAkqplxycZwsWWMWqT3RVA-DSRYVBbm0xOj4UBdIBU4HAWg5TDA-e
Hey mate, can you use dual pistol on the celestial build or is only for the condi build and you HAVE to have mace for the celestial build? I was wondering if the condi version will work with the condi traits in the second half of the video but with all celestial gear?
Yes you can 👍 If you will use it in open world, it should work ok, but expect overall less sustain. And if you'll use Celestial for group content, it should also work well, but overall should be less DPS.
Hi Johnny. I’m running this mace pistol build and doing 8 to 9K DPS on strikes but then I run your dual pistol condi build both are engi and I start doing 18-19K DPS is this pistol/mace build more of a hybrid of sort of doing OK damage with more survivability than going full-blown Condi DPS with your pistol pistol build?
Sorry, but I'm not sure if you're referring to an entirely different build from another guide of mine or not. But the main build in this guide is more balanced between Sustain & Damage for solo open world gameplay. For group content, you'll need to change at least few traits since you will have other players providing the support / heal. Check the build from 09:47 for the more DPS variant of this build
@@GamingTutorialswithJohny yeah that’s what I’m referring to exactly. I’m running the mace pistol build that’s on this video and the damage output is almost half of what I could do with the variant you have on this same video with pistol pistol. Does that sound just about right? I just want to make sure that sounds just about right or if I’m doing something wrong with the mace pistol variant in the beginning of this video. Thanks for the help 💪🏻
Yes that sounds about right :) You can actually do even more than 18-19K with the DPS variant if you made all recommended changes. Very often I'd be top DPS with it
Thank YOU for the kind words! I am not sure which build are you referring to, but generally Pistol / Pistol is good for single targets, so it's perfect for Strikes and Raids for example Mace / Pistol is better at handling multiple enemies, so it's more suited for open world and most of fractals
Pistol / Pistol will do more damage overall, but again it will only work best with single targets. But in open world, you don't just fight single targets as you often fight multiple enemies. Also don't forget the value you get out of Mace #2 and #3. That's exactly why I recommend Mace / Pistol for open world, and Pistol / Pistol in Strikes and Raids since it's all about single targets, and you'll have other players to provide heals and boons
Since your guide for celestial virtuoso, i follow your guides for open world and i find this type of content alot easier. My mechanist is full celestial because i boosted my engi. I wonder if celestial also works, since i don't have much gold nor the crafting for medium armor.
@@GamingTutorialswithJohny Oh, that's great to know. In time i will get all the best gear for this run. I have leveled a few characters to 80, and i just wanted to get a mechgineer quickly. My mesmer is full ascended bis gear, and since i selected the light gear from the astral rewards, now i need to wait to get the medium one. For trinkets, that will be a tad easier to get.
@@GamingTutorialswithJohny Just gave it a try last night, i've never melted enemies this fast, especially champions. Even with celestial, and thus losing a bit on the dps side, i still managed it. Hope anet won't nerf this. Thanks again for this build guide :)
What would you say is the key difference between this build and say the one from lord hizen? I see similarities, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know the differences to determine which way is best for me. I'm currently switching between mech or reaper as my main. So far reaper lets me face tank almost everything, but I like the voice acting and looks of my mech. So wondering if mech can keep up with reaper on the damage and survival aspects of things.
Sorry, but I don't know Lord Hizen's build to answer that question. If you sent me the build's link ( not video link ) I can check and tell you. For me personally, I think Reaper / Scourge and Mech are the best Specs as of right now in GW2 for beginners and low intensity builds. All of them are very versatile and can offer a lot of options, even in group content. ----------- To answer your specific question in more details: - Reaper is perfect for short to mid fights. So you can clear a bunch of random mobs easily in seconds, and you can also solo most champs and even some bounties without any issues ( depending on the instabilities they have at the time ). But there will be times where you'll find yourself fighting let's say a hard bounty that is also surrounded by a bunch of hard mobs, in that case you may struggle to stay alive. But then of course, you can just switch to Blood Magic + Death Magic with all minions and you're basically unkillable. - Mechanist on the other hand can handle any fight, whether it's short / mid / long, whether it's melee or ranged. There will be very little in open world that you can't solo with a Mech, especially if we're talking about this build I just posted. Even in short fights, it won't have as much bursty quick damage as Reaper, but it will not be too far behind. Even if you struggled somehow, you can use a couple of extra celestial / trailblazer pieces with some damage reduction food, and you'll most likely be able to solo whatever you struggled with without issues. - So basically it all depends on the exact kind of fights you focus more on when you're in open world. ----------- If my answer was not clear enough, please let me know what exactly do you use the builds for most of the time, and I'll tell you which one will suit that style more
@@GamingTutorialswithJohny Looks like I can't post the build link here. lord hizen uses flame thrower and healing turret instead of healing signet and super conducting. His build is in Explosives(2-1-3), Firearms(1-2-3), and Mech(2-2-1), with all celest gear using trapper runes and relic of Akeem. Weapons are running strength and frailty. His rotation seems to just go 2, 3, 4 alternating between Mace/Pistol and Flamethrower with some auto attacks thrown in from mace. In his video, he seems to suggest he wanted to get full alac and quickness uptime. Could that be the difference between his and your build? I like your build more as it seems simpler to understand, but I am curious what the differences are.
You can't buy the Trapper runes from the TP, you can have to craft it yourself. Please check the wiki link if you're not sure how: wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_the_Trapper

@@GamingTutorialswithJohny HoT seems really difficult to solo around the areas. i’m missing one more upgrade on it. i went to PoF to see if it’s going to be easier. my HP is like 16k
If you have 16K HP then you probably have the wrong gear. Are you sure you used the same gear setup I suggested in the video? If not then may I know what gear are you using? If you don't know then tell me how much "Armor" do you have. That'll be the in the second row, and right column
Makes more sense now why you're struggling with sustain 😄 Also, the build is more condi oriented, so you're not even going to do much damage. So you had low sustain and low damage, which is why you were having a hard time with it. Do you have the new expansion "Secrets of the Obscure" ? If so, I recommend my power variant of the build instead : ua-cam.com/video/RAT4iwLVMVo/v-deo.html If you'll use full Berserker, your sustain will still be relatively low, but overall this build I linked now should work better with you based on the gear you have
I have some builds that are made specifically for group content like Strike & Raids. For those builds I'll put the numbers in the title and show you in the video. An example is this one : ua-cam.com/video/YvKYljxcJRE/v-deo.html But for any build that is made only for Open World, or if it's one of the areas it will cover, I don't post numbers since there are more important factors
