I just completed a similar project on my 2022 CB500X, what a difference! I used a relay and picked up the high beam signal as the trigger, as I only wanted the aux flood lights to come on with the high beams. I purchased a 12V to 24V buck converter, but I didn't end up using it as the lights are plenty bright with a 12V source.

My wife likes to use them in traffic, makes her much more visible because the little Honda is a bit quiet

I confess, I have also used a soldering iron to shrink heat shrink, but only because I didn't have a cigarette lighter handy.
