Real sugar is cane sugar. It’s listed on the bottle because most American soft drinks use high fructose corn syrup in lieu of sugar. Mexican Coke is popular because it uses real sugar.
Real sugar could also be beet sugar.
78% of sugar comes from sugar cane. USA uses corn syrup because it’s less expensive.
@@jontasticI believe New coke was just a cover so they can secretly replace the cane sugar with corn syrup after bringing it back to the market.
@user-sq5eg8vz6j Never credit to human ingenuity what can be ascribed to human stupidity. In the 80s Pepsi was taking over Coke's top spot in the soft drink market with their Pepsi Challenge commercials, showing ordinary people taste-testing both drinks and preferring Pepsi. Coke had a new, young, untried CEO in charge then, he panicked, and instead of coming up with a counter that showed people enjoying Coke more, he said, "Let's just change Coke so it tastes like Pepsi!" And they did, and it turned out that everybody, even people who did prefer Pepsi, still hated the thought of that original Coke flavor simply going away and never coming back.
In the US, 'cane sugar' usually means unprocessed cane sugar products like "Sugar in the Raw" that do actually have a distinct flavor.
Dr . Pepper is my favorite soda
We call it gas because it's short for gasoline. Gasoline is made from petroleum, but it's not exactly the same thing. In the US, we think of petroleum as more of a crude oil type substance.
19th Century, gasoline was distinct from kerosene, which was lamp fuel.
Originally, "gasoline" is a modification of "Cazeline", which in turn came from the name of the guy who invented it. Incidentally, the term was originally British, back when it was being used as lamp and stove fuel; but it became *vehicle* fuel elsewhere (initially in Germany I think, but it really caught on in America).
Yeah, because we use the proper vernacular. Petrol is short for petroleum, which is unrefined oil. Does anyone put unrefined oil in their gas tanks? Perhaps if the UK invented the car, they could have dictated the proper term for gasoline and still have been wrong.
I agree with this, when I think of “petroleum” I think of “petroleum products” such as things made from it rather than any finished product. Except maybe for petroleum jelly. I guess that’s a finished product.
@@jonadabtheunsightly. It caught on because of big oil.
That's where it all started. 😅
⛽🛢️
For the billionth time Brits, "Gas" is short for "Gasoline" which is of course fuel made from crude oil and other petroleum liquids.
As a child Mt, Dew came in a glass bottle (green glass) had a barefoot hillbilly in overalls with the caption “Yahoo Mt. Dew”
the formula was changed as well. the very original formula mountain dew is still sold in the VA/TN/KY area as dr enuf. look for it!
They put out a limited edition about ten years ago of the original. It had the hillbilly on it in a glass bottle.
I've seen it here and there over the years between then and now.
Root beer is an acquired taste. But, yes, you HAVE to do The Dew!
..and those that refuse it are few.
Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Mountain Dew are the top 3 sodas I think.
I think Sprite and 7-Up might be more popular than Mountain Dew.
@@deejacks1 Dr Pepper is #3 after Coke & Pepsi
I think Pepsi took the top spot after Coke put out New Coke.
@@briansmith48 Remember the backlash that New Coke received? It was crazy!
Clamato juice is tomato and clam juice -- it's used for making one type of Bloody Mary
In The US, Fanta Does Have A Strawberry Flavor!!
I've tried the strawberry flavor and it is strong
Pineapple too which is by far my favorite fanta flavor.
Ah yes. Pineapple is even better. I could drink them till being sick tbh that's why I don't buy them anymore.
I'm in love with fanta
People mix Clamato with Vodka, with chili powder...Bloody Mary mix.
Couldn’t drink it without the alcohol 🥃
That's a Caesar.. and it's very popular in Canada.
Big RED is huge in Texas. People love it with barbacoa tacos. It's supposed to be a cinnamon creme flavor.
Big Red is awesome!
Best description of Big Red is a vaguely cinnamon flavored cream soda. It's really only popular in Texas where it was invented
I'm 39 live in Minnesota all I could think of was the gum big red
big red is best on vanilla ice cream, it's a cream soda
Fun fact: Mountain Dew has more sugar than six donuts from Krispy Kreme with about 63 grams per 16.5 ounce bottle.
The biggest mistake i see is that there is no ice anywhere. American-style is definitely over ice, always.
My favorite soda is Dr. Pepper, but I love Big Red, too.
We have Fanta Strawberry in the states. Also, I recently discovered that “blue raspberry” is a combination of esters from banana, cherry, and pineapple.
Clamato is the bomb. Clamato, beer, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and a salt rimmed glass. ❤
I've never had most of those. I also think Clamato juice is meant as a mixer, and not meant as a regular juice.
Root beer, Mountain Dew, Cherry or Vanilla Coke, and Sunkist are probably my favorites. Some restaurants in the states have like 12 flavors of fanta on the machine like raspberry, peach, strawberry, pineapple, all sorts of
What brand of root beer? The brand makes a big difference.
I'm definitely team A&W. And vanilla coke 😋😋
Kabir, if you ever have the chance to visit Atlanta, Georgia, I highly recommend you check out the Coca Cola Factory. Atlanta, as you probably know, is where Coke was first founded, developed and sold. Therefore there is an incredible factory and museum there. You can watch the bottling process, see the history of Coke, and watch soda jerks in action ( they were the guys who mixed and served sodas in the drug stores back in the day). The most amazing part is that you taste different sodas from around the world. There is a huge tasting room full of dispensers where you can try sodas from Africa, China, Australia, etc. Some are quite good and others are down right disgusting, but it's so much fun to try them all.
My favorites are Diet Coke. Coke Dr. Pepper Cream soda and A&W Root Beer and Stewart's Root Beer were my favorites and one honorable Mention Grape NēHi this stuff is awesome if you can find it.
Clamato juice is a tomato juice with clam juice, NOT pureed clams. It's usually used to make Bloody Mary cocktails along with a few other ingredients.
Clamato isn’t meant to be drank on its own,it’s a mixer.
I love Big Red! To me it has a light vanilla taste! I also like Sprite.
Mountain Dew is popular and is one of the most popular non-cola drinks.
Big Red is a strawberry-like flavored cream soda and it’s popular in some parts of the South.
Arizona Tea is only popular because it’s super cheap - it doesn’t really taste like good Southern sweet tea.
I don't think I've seen Big Red soda anywhere I've lived (mostly northwest). Around here huckleberry soda is really popular.
I’m a 53yr old Texan born and raised, we have always enjoyed Big Red along with Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and other sodas. Yum 😋
I give up, as a U.S.Aer, on why the fact we call most motor fuel 'gas'...short for gasoline, is such an issue. We are talking about a liquid, not a gaseous form. When I first heard 'petrol', I thought that Brits had discovered a way to fuel their vehicles with unrefined petroleum. When I now corespond with my Brit friends online, I avoid the problem..I add 'u' to many words, and I refer to 'fuel'..as we all seem to agree on that term :)
Clamato is particularly popular in Canada where it’s mixed with vodka to create a “Caesar” which is the Canadian version of the “Bloody Mary”. Personally, I don’t like tomato juice so I can’t imagine that adding clam juice to it would improve it. By the way, clams are similar to oysters as they are in shells that have to be pried or steamed open. They’re smaller than oysters normally.
I tried Clamato juice long ago, just to be able to say I'd tried it. I was sure it would be disgusting, but it turned out I liked it. I do recognize that it's got a weird flavor, and I do appreciate other people really, really not liking it. The only bad thing, for me, is that Clamato has a very high sodium content (though somehow it doesn't taste salty at all) and I'm supposed to watch my intake, so I can't drink it often.
Caesars are AMAZING!!!
My daughter and her family are living in Spain currently. Her husband is in the Air Force. I visited recently and we had a birthday party and most people there were Spanish. We had root beer and they all hated it. It’s my favorite soda lol.
I was surprised to find out that their coke is very different and not in a good way to me 🤷♀️😁
the tomato clam juice is a Jumbalia base liquid. add all you're meats... sea food too, this juice, clams are already in there... or muscles... beef sausage chicken... what ever meat.... soooo good..
My favorite soft drink is a soda that up until recently was pretty much regional to the southern US where I grew up called Cheerwine. That stuff was my childhood.
Fantastic strawberry is great, drinking it now.
Mountain Dew is one of nature’s perfect foods!
Big Red is Strawberry flavored. It was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Root Beer is my all-time favorite soda.
I love big red! It’s a type of cream soda
Yessss! My favorite!
I love a beer with Clamato (red beer), and especially a Bloody Mary with it.
Some of my favorite sodas are Mexican Coke, Jarritos Tamarindo, Sangria Señorial, Baja Blast, Mr. Pibb. For energy drinks are Ghost Warheads Watermelon and Blue Sour Patch.
I haven't had Big Red in years, but I loved it.
In 2023 the top 5 sodas were
1 Coke
2Diet Coke
3 Pepsi
4Dr.Pepper
5Mt.Dew
6Sprite
7Fanta
8Tie Sierra Mist and Sunkist Pepsi just dropped Sierra Mist changed the formula and renamed it which I don’t remember
107Up
I'm really surprised that 7up is low on the list. Used in so many adult beverages. Especially below Fanta/Sierra Mist and what is Sunkist Pepsi? Never heard of it.
Grape Soda and Mountain Dew are the more common soda options. Big Red is a little more regional. We have a ton of choices for pop at most restaurants. Mountain Dew is everywhere but in the restaurant I managed, I only ordered the syrup once per month where I had to order 3 Coca-Cola syrups per week. We brew fresh iced tea in most restaurants also. Arizona is more like a gas (based on the brand name Cazeline and a trademark lawsuit that eventually led to a name change to Gazeline) station. Clamato is used in Bloody Mary cocktails. It's clam juice and tomato juice. Throw some Worcestershire, hot sauce, lemon and vodka in it and the salty notes are actually very nice.
We have strawberry Fanta in the US. We do love our vibrant colors!!!
Either the Jolly crew didn't know or it was a practical joke for the boys. Clamato is used to mix with alcohol, no one really drinks it just by itself.
I got a few things to say about the clamato. 1. While some ppl do drink it straight it straight up its mostly used as a filler/mixer like they its used to make micheladas which is a Mexican drink made with beer usually with Mexican beer clamato lime & tahin on the rim its also used in mixed drinks like bloody mary & it is also use in dood dishes such as ceviche, gaspachio, Mexican shrimp cocktail, shrimp stew, seafood soup. 2. If you are gonna drink clamato it has to be refrigerated & chilled. It changes the flavor like night & day from the looks of it they tried it room temperature.
As i mentioned above you can use clamato to make foods such as coctel de camaron(Mexican shrimp cocktail) which i highly recommend u try if you ever go to Mexican restaurant hopefully from an authentic Mexican restaurant from a city/town with a decent amount of Mexican population. However its actual not that hard to make heres my recipe. 1st of all put the clamato in the fridge a few hours ahead or in the freezer for about an hour. Now get uncooked shrimp of your choice peeled & deveined is the easiest but full head on raw shrimp is my personal fave because it ads more flavor from the shells. Sobu get the shrimp & put it into a pot of boiling salted water. Once cooked strain the shrimp & broth into a separate pot. Now this part is a bit time consuming so if u want u can skip it but u can take of the shell & head & devein but its safe to eat with out. Now pour the clamato into thecpot with the broth & shrimp & putvit in the fridge to chill. As its cooling down. U can dice up tomato, purple/red onion, cucumber, avocado, celery & cilantro & pour it into the pot add salt, pepper & lime juice & stir. Now u can eat it as a cold soup with saltine crackers or tostadas. Now if youre asking for measurements it really depends on how many ppl youre feeding i never made it for just 1 person but at home i make it for 6 ppl & this is the measurements i use to feed 6 ppl & we always have leftovers or enough for ppl to get seconds.
3 lbs/1.36 kg
2 english cucumbers
2 tomatoes
1 purple/red onion
1 bunch of cilantro
2 lg avocados
3 or 4 celery sticks
3 limes
Salt & Pepper to taste.
So u can cut it to 1 of each plus a 1/4 of an onion & cilantro & it should be enough for 2 ppl
Favorite soda/pop is Dr Pepper or Squirt. Root Beer is good pour over vanilla ice cream in a cup called a root beer float….an America classic. Idk Fanta or big red or the sour blue stuff.
This may be the first time anyone has drunk Clamato without alcohol, and the Warheads is bad, but the rest are pretty good.
You can make your own Cream soda by adding some Vanilla extract to sparkling water. Sweeten to taste.
This guy has CLEARLY never seen that Fanta commerical with the dancing women.
Clamato is for Bloody Mary drinks! On ice & vodka! Good!
Jarritos is a brand of Mexican soda that comes in glass bottles. Pineapple is my favorite flavor.
Their reactions are what me make tiktoks on giving people in the 1400s the same things.
I don’t really drink sodas anymore. But when I do, maybe twice a year, I buy Ginger Ale. Love it!
Ginger ale is the only soda I drink too. Reed's Jamaican is my favorite
I fell in love with Lilt when visiting the UK. I come from the hometown of Coke, but we can't get Lilt in the US, except at the Coke Museum here. To be fair, unless drinking out of a clear bottle, most of us don't pour soda/coke into glasses except at restaurants. In cans, you don't see the crazy colors as much. I've never had Mountain Dew, and didn't know the color until they poured it into a glass, though I've seen people drink it in cans quite a lot. Clamato is really for making Bloody Marys if you don't have V8 (another tomato-based drink). It's pretty nasty without a lot of alcohol in it.
Fanta has a strawberry flavor. At least here in the states.
in the 1960s we'd buy raw sugar cane and chew on it. it tasted very different from the purified stuff.
Diet Dr Pepper. But I always add dried or frozen fruit to it.
I used to always look for grape soda when i was a kid or the orange fanta.
lol My son loves mountain dew, but I only let him drink it every once in a while. My son usually drinks body armor drinks now or gatoraide. Now I'm hooked on ice tea, like Pure Leaf lemon tea.
Fanta changes its flavours to cater to the countries in which its being sold.
Dr. Pepper is my favorite. Big Red is a Southern thing, Kabir. Bottled ice tea is a sacrilege where I come from.
My favorite is Dr Pepper and then Coca-Cola
Like Big Red as a kid but havent has one in decades... JOLT is the 1st Mt Dew but uses real fruit Juice.
Clamato = Clam and tomato juice , bad bad yucky ! Was made for stews and Bloody Mary drinks
The iced tea they got was diet…sometimes the sugar substitute has an aftertaste and green tea isn’t like your normal tea sometimes it tastes like grass
yea they did them a disservice... regular is much better and diet taste like trash
Mountain Dew the original is green, but they have many different flavors of Mountain Dew. My favorite is Code Red Mountain Dew which is a cherry flavored.
It's not as popular these days but I loved drinking Jolt Cola. Its selling point was real sugar and twice the caffeine of regular cola. I'd drink an entire six-pack while skiing. Also, Clamato is more popular in Mexico and Canada than America.
I like Fresca and Squirt -- both are grapefruit sodas
There is a strawberry Fanta! Tastes very sweet 😊
I love big red. It’s very regional. You can really only find it in parts of the south and Midwest. I knew they weren’t going to like it, lol. You want a really strange soda, try Moxie. Again, very regional. Maine/ New Hampshire area.
Oh and what monster decided to give them Clamato. Lol
Clamato is meant to be a mixer for cocktails.
Dr. Pepper is my favorite soda/pop/soft drink. My family were also big Pepsi drinkers as well lol
It's tomato and clam juice. It's not good but some people love it.
You should react to British highschoolers try trader joes snacks 😊
I had a Mt. Dew for breakfast and lunch through high school. It was all for the caffeine. I don’t drink soda anymore but if I do, I go for a diet Mt. Dew or a Dr. Pepper.
Mountain dew comes in green red and black it could be in other flavors I am not sure I haven't been in the store for a while my son and I get our groceries delivered shadow
I have a Mountain Dew once in awhile. I forget how much it sucks. I only drink Dr. Pepper, when I do drink soda. I drink diet, lemon iced tea most of the time.
Am I the only one that laughed my ass off when Kabir said he loves anything with grape flavour 😂😂
We know !
I have never heard of big red. And I have lived in the US my whole life of 70 years.
Squirt is one of my faves.
I love Big Red, but the zero sugar version. It's actually my favorite! Unfortunately, they don't have it in Idaho so I have to order it online at an outrageous price, when I want it.
Sun Drop and Cheerwine if you ever see any over there
mountain dew started as a mixer for moonshine.
Ba Ha Blast is others one that is popular in the US. Its is a Mountain Dew product, by the Pepsi Co.
Clearly Canadian blackberry flavor and Izze are my favorite fizzy drinks.
My favorite is Orange Fanta, Sprite, and Mello Yello
The grape Mountain Dew is my favorite.
Omg there's a grape one?
Mmmm Fanta or Crush Orange is great stuff. Mt. Dew is slightly green like the inside of a lime, but that's cause it's citrus flavor. Root Beer is my favorite soft drink
Big Red is a cream soda. I love it. Lets have Americans test European food items and see where those criticisms might lie 🧐. Plenty of fodder there. Love ur channel Kabir 🤘
DR PEPPER is my favorite!
Red cream soda is the best!!
Cheerwine is my absolute favorite ❤
I have never heard of Big Red or the Warheads drink! I have lived in the U.S. all my life. I don't drink a lot of soft drinks, but when I do it is either Root Beer or 7-Up. Iced tea can be either sweet or unsweet. I don't drink either, but sweet tea is what most in the south drink.
It is a mix of tomato and clam juices
It’s funny how the use of flavored medicine and toothpaste sometimes makes other products taste “bad”. When I was young, cherry was the flavor for children cough syrup. I don’t hate fresh cherries, or even cherry drinks, but some people can’t stand cherry due to its association with medicine.
I've tried those Warheads Sour drinks. I was honestly expecting it to be more sour than what it was.
Never had Big Red. I love Cherry Dr Pepper or Henry Winehard black cherry....Pepsi.
Fun fact: Mt Dew has orange juice in it.
Tried some Welchs soda (grape flavor and a fruit punch flavor) that I found at Dollar Tree, man they are intense flavors and VERY sweet! Then looked to see the sugar percentage, and found out why. Grape was 158% sugar and punch was 160% sugar!! 😳😁
Clamato is a mixer, I do not know anyone who drinks it straight. Clams are a shellfish. Similar to oysters or scallops.
The Arizona DIET Green Tea is the WORST tea they could have gotten them and the Clamato too. The ONLY thing clamato is used for is cocktails.
They gave them the worst variety of certain brands 😳
“I’ve never tried mountain dew”: understandable.
“Or iced tea.”: tf? Just put some ice in some tea!
I would say by popularity, I believe the order of soft drinks flavor is the following:
1 Coke
2 Pepsi
3 Dr. Pepper
4 Sprite
5 Root Beer
6 Mountain Dew
7 7UP
8 Fanta
9 Ginger Ale
10 Cream Soda
÷ many more
Dr Pepper has edged out Pepsi for the number 2 spot...
They need to try a SunDrop Cherry Lemon, a Cheerwine, a NeHi, and an RC Cola.
