The other saftey issue I have encountered on dirt tracks and tarmac is caravaners travcelling in convoy close to each other which makes it difficult to pass. Some have the UHF channel they use written on the back of the caravans but that is no good if they aren't monitoring it or are blabbing on the channel to their mates so you can't get a word in to let them know to make a gap so that you can pass.

Hi Chris and Miriam, how are you both going. The safety issue you talked about is so true. About 10yrs ago due to no culmination on the other victimless behalf we nearly got tboned, lucky my husband quick thinking we headed towards the bush. I will never get image out of my head of the vehicle heading straight at me. Lucky they had good breaks. So I agree why wouldn't you have a UHF is beyond me. Thankyou for the extra info on the charging aspect. We learn so much from watching you both. 😊
Totally agree about the UHF Radio, we haven’t had time to fit one into our latest vehicle so are just using a 5w handheld GME until we get our vehicle mounted unit fitted. It works fine. I believe in general many people drive too fast on the gravel roads. If it’s a very good smooth gravel road than 80km/h if you are not towing should be your maximum. If you are towing then no faster than 70km/h. Drive to the conditions, you don’t know what is around the next corner. Sitting on a 100-110km/h thinking you are some kind of Finke Desert Racer is insane ! I'd rather cruise along the gravel road at a relaxed pace, enjoy the scenery and avoid the flat tyres, which costs you time and money.
Great advice... we've just had our CB installed for our lap starting in a few weeks. Been looking for these types of tips cause don't want to be "that guy" lol

I wouldn't run my diesel car motor for 2 hours just idling to charge the van it will glaze up the cylinders in it and stuff the motor long turn , ok if you update ya car every 2 years , but normal people no way , even running at higher revs na still will stuff it
We’ve done this twice in the past couple of years - it’s there to get us out of trouble if we need it. No point carrying a generator and fuel to be used twice a year 😁

How much fuel does your car use idling for 4 hours?
This was only a demonstration of what can be done. We would only do this in desperation. We would only run it for an hour at a time. That’s 100amps of charge 👍🏼
No point carrying a generator and fuel to be used twice a year 😁
if you have a 4WD it should be complusry to have a UHF Radio
Agree! 😁
🕶🤙👍
😁
If that’s angry 😂then you better be doing that just for the camera lol I would be super ………
Haha - let’s just say he’s less ‘aggro’ when the camera is rolling 😅
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown ba ha ha
Why not run generator
Because we don’t want to and don’t need to ✌🏼
So you convert 12v dc from the alternator into 240v ac, then convert it back to 12v dc to charge your battery?🤔 Incredibly inefficient!🙄🤣
👍🏼
Can't fix stupid!
Ain’t that the truth
U could of pulled over not caused a accident thats the safer option an most of the time people with uhfs no one uses them in 4wds lol
👍🏼
IF THERE IS ALL POWERFUL BENEVOLENT GOD AND IT IS THE TRUE CREATOR OF EVERY THING THEN WHY WOULD GOD WANT & NEED TO CREATE EVIL IN THE FIRST PLACE ?
IF GOD WOULD LET ARCHONS TORTURE & MURDER IT'S OWN SON NEPHEW UNCLE COUSIN THEN IMAGINE WHAT WOULD THE SAME GOD LET THE SAME ARCHONS DO TO YOU HUMAN SLAVES ?
👍🏼
Who cares. What old mate does behind u , its up to that person. I do agree with a uhf. But u don't own the road, u are the slow moving vehicle, People are going to catch u. If they crash that us on them.
That’s the most pathetic comment we’ve ever heard 🤦🏽♂️
@@AussieDestinationsUnknown what ever mate. I didn't know u onwed the f@#king road. what some1 does behind u is up to them. U blood UA-cam influencer need to keep ur bitching to yourselves. just Like every body else
Ok boss 😂😂
They are always in a rush! And when they cause a crash, all they can say is oops sorry “ no brains”
Totally agree…they just don’t think hey
Your over complicated charging system is not well thought out. Use a quiet gennie parked next to the van with a 60 a /c charger..so much more efficient and less complicated
Definitely not complicated for me…one leaf and I’m done. No need to carry and generator and unleaded fuel
