    [UNIHERTZ JELLY 2 REVIEW]
You ever look at your smartphone and say “man, I love everything this does, but ... gosh, why can't I carry it in my coin pocket / Altoids tin / Type-1 Phaser holster?" Well, MrMobile might have just the thing for you. Unihertz, the king of small phones, has returned with a new tiny Android phone for 2020 - and from a bigger screen and battery to a better build, the Unihertz Jelly 2 packs more hits than misses for the small phone segment. The questions are two: can you put up with a set of cameras this lackluster ... and are you willing to pay a lot more than last year for the privilege of carrying a phone that's almost too tiny to use? Find out in MrMobile's Unihertz Jelly 2 Review: The Best Small Phone Got Better (But Who's It For?)

I have Unihertz Atom for 2 years now and its still amazing. I looked for a small tough phone because the previous two phones were so big, one broke in my pocket while I was crouching and the one before its screen cracked when i dropped from one feet height on top of a soft carpet.
I dropped my unihertz many times and there is still no signs of damage.

This is exactly why I’m interested. I need some Android apps, but want to make general SM, web, & UA-cam use not great. My 21 yr old son bought a Cat S22, which has similar usability characteristics, but the Cat’s chunky ruggedness is more than I want. This seems like a sweet spot.

I got this phone for two reasons. One, I was using my phone too much. And two, I was sick of carrying around large phones in my pocket. I wouldn't say the phone is uncomfortable to use. It works great for texting, emails, checking stocks etc. Swype typing works 95% of the time. The fingerprint sensor is meh, but it also has face recog, which works great.
What you won't do on this phone is surf on it at a bar or anything like that. The phone becomes functional again. And the programmable button is great.

Oh I'd love it, that's a phone for me! FYI, my phone is 8 years old now. I need it to run whatsapp, call/sms and google maps once every blue moon when I'm lost or get somewhere new. I use the web client for messaging 90% of the time anyways and like smaller phones. I don't enjoy media on and hate that current phones are so large and bulky. And I need it to have specs that will last a lot of years again (especially ram), so android go and low end phones are kinda iffy to me - so that rules out a lot of entry level smartphones, feature phones, "expensive" phones and 6"+ phones.

My first Jelly Pro made it two years, and I only replaced it because of fall damage, lots of fall damage. There's no competition for fitting in your pocket with ease. The keyboard even became fairly easy to use after a week or two of getting used to it. Not easy, but definitely usable.
I've never had a phone that got so many reactions and comments. My Red Hydrogen one and my razer phone 2 got less attention. Since the razer is now a brick and the red is on its way to the tar pits,I may be a jelly owner again soon, and happily. Unihertz is great with updates and support too.

Lol the Iphone 4s is useless in 2020. I was like you, brought a 2nd Iphone 4s for about 10$ or less with the hope that it still could perform as what I remember back in the day. But to my disappointment, without updating the OS to IOS 9, the phone is unusable. UA-cam app doesn’t work, using web browser to play UA-cam video was horrible due to 360p quality limitation, laggy experience, no subtitle support. Also most of the apps that you are frequently using today won’t work on older IOS version than 8 or 7, otherwise, if there is an app that still support older ios, it will laggy as hell. Productivity is nearly down to zero point IMO. But if you are type of nostalgia person, buying one and downgrade the ios to 6 to play your lovely older triple A game titles isn’t a bad idea either. Man, I love the time when triple A mobile games still costed you a few buck but didn’t force you to buy ingame item to have good experience. It is just all about gameplay and graphic

I actually want a fully featured small smartphone. I rely on the usage of certain apps for work and for personal use, but they don't need to be on a large screen for them to be functional. I find myself grabbing my smartphone just when I get bored because there is always something to do with it. I currently am segmenting my media usage between multiple devices, so I become more aware of what I'm spending my time on. I use an Ipod Classic to listen to music, use a Surface Pro when I want to watch something, want to browse the web or if I need to do some basic PC stuff or hop on the Desktop PC to play games or do some more demanding PC stuff.
I'm not the kinda guy that says sitting behind a screen is bad, but I do think it's really easy to distract yourself with all this technology. And boredom is good! It gives you the opportunity to reflect on what you really like to do and gives you room to try something new. Having a small phone that is not really a joy to use helps you to not subconciously grab it everytime you're bored and it being properly specced gives you the ability to have access to a full fledged smartphone when it's needed. You can use it as a navigation system, you can use it as a media streamer, you can use it as a phone, you can play games on it, all the smartphone apps you might rely on are supported and they will for years to come, but you're not going to use it that often because doing the things you really want to do are done better by other devices.
For me it's always a conscious thought to pick up a device other than my smartphone. My smartphone is always in my pocket and I can whip it out whenever I need it, my surface pro is in my bag or next to my bed, so if I want to get it I have to actually stand up and walk to it. This means I have to consider what I want to do with it and if it's really worth it to me to get up and grab the device. This gives me more headspace to reflect on what I'm actually doing and helps me eliminate wasting time on my smartphone.
In short: a small phone helps me with doing things I actually want to do and helps me with eliminating useless phone usage just to fight boredom.
Looking back at this comment I see that eliminating wasting time is something that I still need to learn....

The fingerprint sensor works great, it's just that you have to double tap it, i guess it's a security feature. The only down side so far is the battery time, moderate use will last you the day, but charge time is very fast so a power-bank in the bag and you are fine. Use this as my only phone now. Thought typing would be an problem but fund that it´s about as easy as a standard sized phone.

I have a VERY specific use case for this as an engineer. We have to take geotagged photos everytime we're in the field, having to carry around a gigantic phone in the heat for hours on end while taking photos every five minutes is exhausting for the arms, having one with a dedicated action button and is the size of your palm that weighs practically nothing is a dream come true for me. Definitely looking out for this one

Just stumbled upon your video as I needed one small phone. Being a minimalist doesn’t mean you don’t want to be connected, today a phone is mainly a wallet and hence need it to be up to the mark with the latest os at least to an extent that it supports your banking apps and other similar stuff. Also if you like music this is the most portable device for the same as you can offline Spotify and enjoy a good time listening. So it works for me , however hoping it gets support from its manufacturers for some time to come . Fingers crossed. Infotainment at its best from you as always. Cheers!

I'd love it as my work phone. 80% usage is just having to carry it around waiting for my boss to phone me. 20% of texting work colleagues and 10% for those very occasional multimedia usage when I just HAVE TO ( according to my boss) read that email NOW rather than waiting for me to get to my desk
And even better. Because my work (my boss) mandates that I carry it around at all times, it's small enough that I can hide it in my trouser pocket and forget I'm even carrying it without having to adjust my crutch every time I sit down.

The original Jelly/Jelly pro was shipped with Android 6, but later updated to 7 and finally 8.1. It also got security updates every few months. They were more committed to this than some much more premium brands. So I trust them not to drop the ball this time as well.
The reason why I use that phone: running. Other phones are way too big and heavy to be carried when running in my opinion. But I need to have a phone with me, especially to meet with friends (running group). Since almost everyone in Germany now uses WhatsApp instead of SMS, a 'dumb phone' would be quite useless. There even is an optional band allowing you to wear the jelly on your wrist like a watch.
Obviously this isn't my only device.

Thanks for the review. Actually, this is EXACTLY the type of phone I want. It looks easy to carry yet it will keep me connected by text, email and phone. I love the simplicity of flip phones, but as a college professor I need to be accessible by email unfortunately. I don't use social media anymore, so really I just want a phone that can handle group texts, email from multiple accounts, access to google assistant for voice to text, and one that is small enough for slipping into a pocket so I can forget about it. In fact, the small screen is a plus, as it will encourage me to stay off the phone as much as possible.
    Thanks again for the review.

7:47 small-phones-doesn't-mean-bad-phones represent. This thing reminds me of early iPhone competitors, that was the perfect size for anyone without basketball hands and bottomless pockets. iPhone SE and Sony's Compacts were an acceptable substitute for a long time but new SE is huge again and Sony seems to be moving on entirely, so this is the perfect time for this to come out and save people who don't appreciate shovel-sized phones.

i think the idea is that being small IS the primary selling point. i used to have an LG Optimus V when android was still kind of new and budget meant BUDGET, it only had a 3.2 inch screen on it but it never stopped me from watching youtube, taking and touching up photos, running emulators, very quickly typing messages using swype (it takes practice but you get pretty good), having a custom launcher and all of the stuff i do on my modern phone. the only thing holding me back then was the specs and this doesn't have those problems, so i'm sure the kind of people who hate the phablet wave and miss the compactness of flip phones will adore this.
