THIS IS MY KIND OF VIDEO.. VINNIE VINCENT IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITE GUITARIST...THANK YOU FOR UPLOADING THIS VIDEO.. I REALLY DO LOVE 99% OF YOUR VIDEO'S..
Brewster - Your channel & lessons are fantastic. Love the performance notes and "Behind the Music" stories just as much as the lessons themself. Please don't ever change your format. It's perfect how it is. I know some may want you to just "shred" for 25-30 mins... but you are a natural teacher, and to teach, you have to of course explain.. and you do a fantastic job of it on each and every video. I promise you all of us subscribers appreciate what you do. Happy Holidays and we look forward to the next video!
thanks david these are some killer songs very underrated!! vinnie vincent invasion albums are overlooked a lot and these are some cool chords....thanks again!! \m/
Kiss guys rag on him and every other player they let go except for Bruce and Bob. Guessing Vinnie had the talent and ego just like Paul and Gene and three's a crowd, as they say. Some of their best post-ace output was with Vinnie imo.
Finally i been asking for 3 to 4 years. Vinnie Vincent arpeggio lesson would be nice because he uses hybrid picking and his scale runs sound edgy and thrashy in his VHS REH lesson he made in the 80's. Its to bad they didn't make more Vinnie Vincent Invasion album or come out with a live album and unrelease songs or demos, maybe one day they will. The Vocal Melody for both songs Love Kills and That time of year uses certain scale degrees in the vocal melody line that are played against those chords that make the vocal melody sound atypical and eerie. I wish you would have played the vocal melody at the same time as the chords like what jazz guitarist do to learn how advance vinnie vincent songwriting skills
Great lesson David. Lots more guitar players are influenced by Vinnie than they care to admit. Highly experienced and accomplished player even before he got to Kiss. Didn't he play with Dan Hartman in the 70's? Wished he was a bit more under control with his solo's on the VV albums. Some of the riffs are kick-ass. When I was a pimply teen in the 80's, Boyz are gonna rock on MTV was like "WOW"!
Vinnie Vincent, so much guitar talent and song writing ability but a personality that breaks bands apart, such a pity I love his music, That Time of Year is still one of my favourite songs to this day.
That Burn killer riff reminds me of the Blackmore riff on the song Knocking at your back door from Deep Purple's Perfect Stranger record (1984). Try and listen to at minute 0:40 of the Purple song and see if I am right or wrong 👍
Nice lesson. I was never into Vinnie Vincent back in the 80s. I just looked on Spotify and his albums aren't listed. I wonder what's up with that? I am going to sit down and work on these riffs because they are awesome.
Holy H just watching a video of Joanne Shaw Taylor and special guests and at 1st glance I thought the rhythm backing player was you!....excellent player tasty chop... must be Brewster's Millions... sorry i was wrong as i age so does the peripheral vision. keep on keepn' on
Damn Dave this is a "Random as hell" video. COol, but when I saw it I was like Vinnie Vincent Invasion?!?! I mean I know who it is, but I hadn't thought about them in forever.
Nice PRS. I worked for the company for a while and got a USA Core Tremonti as my 2 years of service guitar. Paid peanuts. Sad Vinnie hasnt been able to put anything out in the past 30 plus years. I used to have that instructional VHS. Read Bobby Rocks book of how Vinnie made him re-record all his drums. What a nightmare! Always loved the marriage of Horror and Metal bands on the soundtracks. 🤘
I remember when Vinnie left KISS I was pumped waiting for the Invasion!!! Loved the first album, the second got lost in the hair '80s. I also heard a story that he had one of Randy's guitars. Maybe with Dana Strumm involved it could be true. Great lesson Dave!!! Keep up the great work 🤘maybe do an episode on Bruce Kulick, 17 yrs with the band and never a stich of make up. Underrated player for sure
I'm not a guitar player, but man I love Vinnie's stuff...this was an interesting watch. The only comment is on That Time of Year for the "quite" part, I believe VV is using a 12 string.
Don't touch the solos. I don't think even Vinnie knows wtf he was doing sometimes :) Great lesson and some absolutely monster riffs - absolutely worth checking out the brilliant "Ya Know" (I'm pretty shot) instrumental from All Systems Go.
@@scottycunningham1413not an ounce of feeling. No set up and payoff. No building. No dynamic. No soul. You know how to objectively claim they suck? You could take any one of his solos and would fit just as well in any of his other songs. The reason is because they're not written to serve the song.
Hello David. You play power chords like I’ve always played them, with my Index and pinky finger. I feel that this technique has helped me develop a stronger pinky for lead playing, as well. I first heard Back On the Streets music video by John Norum, which I really liked. It wasn’t until a few months later that I heard Vinnie Vincent’s Back On the Streets. I still like John Norum’s version better.
Always was a fan of Vinnie but wish his career would've had a different trajectory. Burn riff sounds a lot like Deep Purple's Knocking at your Back Door 🍻
All the songs on the first album were tuned half step up. When they played live, everything sounded more natural, since it was played on standard tuning.
And here's the other one I made from VinMan. I also featured Vinnie in the recent "Hot Licks" rant video. A legend. Thanks and ROCK ON! ua-cam.com/video/pzELNSHUIBE/v-deo.htmlsi=Za45GAgL0pp1WcBI
Love Vinnie Vincent Invasion!! Vinnie had some absolutely phenomenal riffs, and wrote some great songs, but so many of the songs are ruined by his ridiculous non melodic solos. Which is a shame, because he was perfectly capable of playing melodically. I still absolutely love the guy, and you can certainly say he has a unique style. Great video, and great playing!! Cheers 🍻
I love way more the 1st VVI album, is much more raw and savage imo, and i find curious that almost the entire album is in F standard except for back on the streets if i remember well, i don't know if that was a post-production thing or they actuallu played in F, anyways it sounds more strident!!
The legend is…or rumor, theory, folklore…belief😉is: Vinnie messed with the tape speed to make his solos appear faster than played…so, in doing so…pitch was changed…resulting in keys uncommon for guitar players…unless you’re Chuck Berry😉
Vinnie's best talent was being a musician. His calling should have been just a songwriter and producer. Being a guitarist? Honestly, He was just not cut out for it. He was just too hard to work with. So many stories about that. Glad you did this one. Loved All Systems Go.
Vinny vincent was the best guitarist shredder they ever had

Those two albums are chock full of great riffs.
Great stuff as always

No doubt Vinnie's playing was great but there were so many stories about how difficult he was to work with ?? Awesome choice David 🤘👍👏
Kiss guys rag on him and every other player they let go except for Bruce and Bob. Guessing Vinnie had the talent and ego just like Paul and Gene and three's a crowd, as they say. Some of their best post-ace output was with Vinnie imo.
@coalfacechris1336 it sounds like his issues go much deeper than ego. Like scamming and ripping off anyone he could.
Killer job on these David! Love Kills and That Time of Year are both great tunes 🎵 🎸🤘🏼
You picked great songs. Very cool
Cool lesson

One of the first solos I ever learned was I Wanna Love You on Vinnie’s project Treasure. Phenomenal solo
Keep it up Dave -- your lessons always bring a smile to my face -- even when the last thing I want to do is play like Vinny Vincent, I still watch.
He is an original, highly creative and gutsy groundbreaker. I'm sure noone reading this or watching him will ever come close that level of talent.
Also Bobby Rock’s book is great, some cool behind the scenes stories!
Another great lesson Maestro, thank you. And anyway I like the first 2 Slaughter records, too!
Glad to see love kills made the list 🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Nope leave Vinny stuff alone.....that's what I love about him .....off kilter Riffs

Awesome video!!! thanks for picking out these songs... I never followed Vinnie Vincent Invasion...
That first riff sounds like a combination of The Immigrant Song and Unchain the Night. 😮
Holy H just watching a video of Joanne Shaw Taylor and special guests and at 1st glance I thought the rhythm backing player was you!....excellent player tasty chop... must be Brewster's Millions... sorry i was wrong as i age so does the peripheral vision. keep on keepn' on
Yes! All Systems Go is a tremendous album, love to hear you do his solos too! 🤘🏼
Seen VVI open for Alice Cooper. Also seen Vinnie with KISS on Creatures and Lick It Up tours. Good times.
That riff from the movie was also like goodbye blue sky on the Floyd album the wall.
Damn Dave this is a "Random as hell" video. COol, but when I saw it I was like Vinnie Vincent Invasion?!?! I mean I know who it is, but I hadn't thought about them in forever.

The gold Jackson he had with Kiss was the third one built by Jackson, after the Concorde and the Black/gold Sharkfin.
I'm not a guitar player, but man I love Vinnie's stuff...this was an interesting watch. The only comment is on That Time of Year for the "quite" part, I believe VV is using a 12 string.
1st song reminds me of White Snake 😅
Lick It Up record still holds up strong.
Yessssssssssssss!
PS: I have stories, and was there when the "disconnect" happened with the band leaving VV
What's the story bro ....write it up here
The 1st Vinnie Vincent album Invasion is so much better than All Systems Go. How about doing an in depth episode of the Invasion album.
The 1st was pure shred. Over the top.
The 2nd actually had some structure and melody.
I remember reading somewhere that the first album tuning was actually E Sharp tuning, must have been tough for the singer.
Na! a good few songs are actually sped up, using the master tape recorder trick…
Loved that first album! Need to check out the second one.
The second one is interesting because half the band eventually became Slaughter and you can REALLY hear it.
: )
@@LateNightLessonsslaughter's always living in the shadows of Vinnie Vincent.
Really appreciate this !!
You like Budgie Dave? They have some great riffs, super underrated band
outstanding !
Yes Yes Yes!
Don't touch the solos. I don't think even Vinnie knows wtf he was doing sometimes :)
Great lesson and some absolutely monster riffs - absolutely worth checking out the brilliant "Ya Know" (I'm pretty shot) instrumental from All Systems Go.
Yeah Vinnie has some of the most tasteless solos in rock

I think kiss Demoed Back on The streets . I know John Norum from Europe has a version of Back on the Streets
John Norum recorded Back on the streets on his Total Control record, not sure if he wrote it or not though.
He also did a 4 song EP with Robert after Invasion. Boyz was a good song, maybe you do that tapping lick that nobody seems to get.
Always was a fan of Vinnie but wish his career would've had a different trajectory. Burn riff sounds a lot like Deep Purple's Knocking at your Back Door 🍻
Which amp are you using in this video brother? Sounds great!! Diggin it ❤
Ahhh...I see Dave is a master of the slow precise bend. Of course he is...
Alright dude; you gotta do some School of Fish. Please!
How bout the chords of Annihilator?
Could Boyz are Gonna Rock have been played in A and sped up?
All the songs on the first album were tuned half step up. When they played live, everything sounded more natural, since it was played on standard tuning.
@@themechanix8804 not all of the songs, Boys Are Gonna Rock certainly was but a lot of the others were in standard.
@@missyjean6729 I don't think so, all of the songs if you listen to live versions, sounds different.
David , have you considered laying down a Vinnie Moore video ? His first two albums were amazing Especially the second one - Time Odyssey .
Hey! I have created two Vinnie Moore Three-For-All lessons.
Here's a link to one --->

vinnie was a great song writer to bad he didnt do more
Burn gives me Deep Purple vibes, maybe that's where the name came from?
I really loved that first VVI album. But gotta be honest, Vinnie's REH guitar instructional video sounds horrendous.
His ideas about the fretboard are spergy too.
That's your opinion. I found it innovative and unique. Least he didn't copy anyone else
Bill Bartlett Baby!!
David ....his chords are Jazz inspired?

Vinnie is a very good writer. Too bad he’s messed up.

No that didn't happen bro
I'd expected a 200% sped-up lesson
i saw the Invasion in Charlotte NC opening for Alice Cooper. VVI killed... Vinnie was a fantastic guitarist and songwriter but a terrible person.
Vinnie's best talent was being a musician. His calling should have been just a songwriter and producer. Being a guitarist? Honestly, He was just not cut out for it. He was just too hard to work with. So many stories about that. Glad you did this one. Loved All Systems Go.
