WOAH what a throwback !! as someone whos also been in the fandom for almost a decade at this point, I feel you. Once in a blue moon I look back into Hetalia and catch up on the web comic but I have yet to catch up with the anime due to the lack of the dub but we know it's not gonna happen. I was even there when the S5 Dub wasnt even happening yet and had to watch the episodes unsubbed the day after they aired and dropped on a Dailymotion account! Honestly I love the more chill fandom than the crazy insane one back in the day. I picked Canada as my favorite (he still is lol) due to being American and that I related to him lol. Hetalia was also the big movement of me getting into history more and bragging rights of too many school history tests. Hell even my first cosplay WAS Canada. I remember skimming through 2Pverse before I "left" the fandom for better pastures at the time because it was long time between S5 and 6 that I ran out of content. Weirdly enough I was never into the Cardverse stuff as I didnt know where it came from until recently and just learned bout the Corpse Party au..I mostly preferred Hetaoni and Dreamtalia back in the hayday.
Oh wow this was a nostalgia trip. I love how i know most of the stuff in this layer but i anticipate the deeper layers will be more... intense is maybe the word for it. I love your videos!
Oh damn, I have been waiting for a hetalia iceberg like this, and while Hetalia isn’t my main anime fandom but it was one of my first big anime fandoms when I was becoming an anime fan, so it is pretty nostalgic to look back at crazy moments in this wild series. Also good art, kinda curious about the art software you use.
As a person that WANTED to work in Hetalia Season 7 Fan Project, I can say that it was a dissaster. I wanted to be a polish translator, because I saw that polish translation was incorrect and wanted to change that. When I asked them if they needed help they told me that they already had some polish translators and stuff. I was like "oh, ok. guess that they are doing fine". But the translations were STILL HORRENDOUS! There was something wrong if they translated "big brotehr" LITERALLY (as big in size not older) or didn't use proper polish grammer. It looked like someone didn't give a crap about the language or polish manga or so, or as if text had been translated in google translate. Guess how shocked I was that the organiser herself that was BRITISH was a POLISH translator (her mother was polish and she said she helped with translating texts and line. Like, girl, just because you have a polish parent doesn't mean you can speak polish. BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T AND SHE SAID SO HERSELF! THAT SHE WAS STILL LEARNING! WHY TF ARE YOU TRANSLATING SOMETHING INTO THE LANGUAGE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!). I'm still salty about it all, because I know I could've make this translation better, or not just me, ANY POLISH FAN COULD DO IT BETTER than HER. Like OMG i'm still pissed off about it as I write this- I tried giving the girl some polish lessons but I guess it was too complicated, and still I was like... I don't know 14 or so, so my english wasn't as good as it is today (i know i make some mistakes but at least it sounds better than translating "big brother" literally)
