Excellent work once again, Peter, and am very happy to have made it into one of your videos. Always wondered how I sounded to others. This has certainly motivated me to continue working on my Bitx40. Have fun! Emil - VK3NAF
Great Video and circuit talkthrough, very well presented peter. I have had all the parts for the simplex sidebander (one frequency ssb tx) by vk3xu in the junkbox for a long time and was thinking of making a 40m version as well. May try this circuit sometime. Well done M0DAD
Hi Peter, I am building my second Knobless Wonder on a VK2EVB PCB. I'm in the US and will be using 7.200mhz crystals. My question to you is, if using 7.2 xtals am I to expect the final operating frequency will be 7.201mhz because of shifting the pass band up slightly? This keeps confusing me. N6ALT
Thanks for the design and introduction. I just built on a perf board but cannot get any output. Is the transformer at the driver stage correctly drawn in the schematic?
This looks like a fun project and I plan on building one with a smaller footprint on perf board some time this year. I have one question though. I've built qrp kits following instructions, but what advice do you have regarding rf isolation and component placement? Are the vertical pcb pieces on this radio separating the different sections absolutely necessary?
You never disappoint.
Your technical ability and skill are an inspiration.
My efforts pale in comparison.
This would be a nice PSK31 or WSPR transceiver with just a change of crystals. I'm tempted to design a PCB for it. Awesome as always Peter!
Very good peter continue. 73 from baghdad yi1hxh

Thanks Alan. For a simple digital modes rig the W3PM approach is probably simpler, using fewer crystals in the filter.

beautiful circuit
@Ray there are cheap crystals for digital mode frequencies - eg 7040 kHz - check out Expanded Spectrum Systems. Also W3PM's WSPR transmitter design.
Hi Peter,
Beautiful work! Love the simplicity. Congratulations!

That's a little ripper Peter! Well done! I look forward to your next video :-) 73, Craig VK3CRG

Probably. My use of 7.159 MHz crystals put me exactly on 7.160.

Adam - as far as I know the schematic is accurate. Try working back from the antenna socket until you get a signal.
vk3ye Thanks. Issue is fixed. I have sent an email to your qsl.net address.
Well done, Peter! And, UA-cam have paid you their ultimate accolade: they put an advertisement in front of your video. :-)
Hi Peter, can we do with 10,xxmhz of cystall?
Brilliant work!! 73, Carl

Separation is a precaution to provide shielding between stations. Highly recommended. An oscillating transmitter with spurii is frustrating to fix.
+vk3ye Last question, can I assume the caps that don't list micro or nanofarads on the schematic are pF? Thanks for your help!

What grade of ferrite for the 6 hole bead? Have been offered several options
Thanks for simple home brew ideas. 73s, krish, vu3nkk
very cool
what are you using for a case there
An old power supply - hamfest cheapie. Front and rear panels cut from a serving tray from a $2 shop.
