    Transcript:
This 2002 cabinet by James Krenov has a small Kwila-veneered carcase perched atop a lanky stand of afzelia, a wood Krenov called doussié.
Its interior is unbroken vertically, and instead has two banks of drawers above and below a single large display area. The drawers inside the cabinet bear Krenov’s signature carved wooden pulls, but the cabinet’s doors are fitted with metal drop pulls, not made by Krenov but fabricated by one of his students, Robert Sanderson, who made many of Krenov’s hinges and metal elements late in his career.
Krenov often broke his own rules of thumb - in this case, Krenov broke his usual arrangement of a light wood on a dark stand, placing the deep red kwila carcase atop the lighter toffee-colored Afzelia doussié stand.
