- One of Cartoon Network's most iconic partner studios, Primal Screen, is shutting down. Primal Screen was responsible for Cartoon Network's iconic programming blocks and eras - The Powerhouse Era, Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, Redraw Your World, and more. After a few decades, though, it's time to say goodbye.

Loved these iconic CN bumpers. They showcased some of the most iconic characters in Animation. You will be missed Primal Screen.
Primal Screen and old CN was my childhood. Loved the powerhouse era. Sad to see this happen.
Me too. I am a huge fan of Primal Screen's work
Yup!
It’s time to move on.
Still work with them to the very end
@@jorgem.9690 Reminiscing the past doesn’t hurt anyone buddy…
It's a shame how Primal Screen was such a big part of my childhood, and I'm only now learning their name. Their CN bumpers were iconic and they deserve so much more credit than they've gotten. May they rest in peace.
I dont know why no one is acknowledging that Primal Screen also made Boomerang bumpers from 2000-2015.
It really sucks to see how badly the 2007 Boston Mooninite Panic screwed up Cartoon Network. Makes me wonder, where would CN be now had it never happened?
What was that? Never heard about it

@@OfficialKimIsNoob An incident when Adult Swim was advertised the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie where people thought the light signs were bombs.

@Silverstar_ don't reply to him about it. He's just explaining for the people that don't know. I agree though, I don't understand why it's relevant here.
At this point, Cartoon Network is not gonna put out any new shows cartoon Network is in danger
Unless... a new president comes in.
You know Primal Screen only did the graphic designs for their bumpers and indents, they weren't responsible for any of CN's shows, right? And Cartoon Network does have new shows coming down the pike, but animation takes time.
@@milesthepeacefulinkling286What are you talking about? This has nothing to do with Cartoon Network's programming or its' administration.

Primal Screen were one of the companies I remember seeing their work at a young age, and they’ve become my mutuals on Twitter since May 2022. Not to mention, they’re the company that introduced me to one of their former employees and their art and animation wizardry (take a wild guess who it is).
It’s a shame that the Primal Screen Dream Team will be leaving the scene.
If feels like many good things on the internet are dropping like flies
Goodbye primal you will be missed
Um, this is Primal screen that’s shutting down, not CN.
@@kolkagaming1234 my bad
@@kolkagaming1234oh sorry I thought all the channels would be shutting down but will CN still be doing the normal stuff and still do their own bumpers?
Cartoon Network is litteraly digging it’s own gravefor the past years. The Merge, the selling of the main building… Now this? Man…
Hahaha 🤡🤡🤡🤡
😢😢😢 If you know that CN is dying, idiot
CN didn't sell their old building, they never owned it. They were leasing that old building, whereas WBD owns the new one lock, stock and barrel, plus the plans to move CN Studios into new headquarters were made in 2020, long before Discovery came into the picture. Also Primal Screen's closing has nothing to do with the merger.
They’ve been doing like that for a long time not surprising.

Cartoon Network isn't shutting down Primal Screen. They were an independent company who worked for anyone willing to hire them. Cartoon Network wasn't their only client.

Rest in peace, Primal Screen. Thank you for all your amazing work.
To this day, I still go back and rewatch what primal screen had to offer for Cartoon Network in terms of iconic bumpers. Really made me really wish Jim samples didn’t get stepped down due to the aqa teen hunger bomb scare😔.
Primal Screen also did work for Boomerang, Cartoon Network’s sister channel. Specifically the toy bumpers that aired from 2000 to 2015. I don’t know if they were involved with the current post 2015 bumpers.
So long, Primal Screen.
You helped shape CN throughout the years.
It's gonna be hard letting you go, but no heroes live forever.
I still remember watching the 20th anniversary of Cartoon Network shorts as a kid on TV, it was cool to see the characters interact with each other
Thanks for creating what made my inspiration for Bumpers ideas
cartoon network was my child hood when i was a kid☹
Yeah we know that.
It was everyone's childhood back in the good old days😢
Looks like Primal Screen's collection of the CN station IDs, menus, bumpers and promotions were done for good! 😭

Remember when this used to be a channel for gravity falls news and theories?

Darn, that's so sad. The bumpers and little ad spots gave Cartoon Network more personality and made it more fun
Zaslav also thinks the amazing world of gumball movie won't happen. Cuz movies such as the Stevens universe movie took just 2 years to make while the amazing world of gumball movie still didn't happen. The director for the movie has cancelled movies such as scoob: holiday hunt and batgirl. And cuz on the Database of says it will be created by cartoon network studio's, while the studio closed as we know
No, I'm pretty sure the Gumball movie is being made by Hanna Barbera studios
Gumball is produced by Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe, not CN Studios in the US. And none of that has anything to do with Primal Screen shutting down.
@@Silverstar_I find it difficult that there are people with an IQ that is too limited to understand something so simple.
@maevblog9955 Anything Cartoon Network Studios related can be moved to either Hanna Barbera Studios Europe or Warner Brothers Animation.

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I always really liked seeing those bumps as a kid because they always brought back characters from cartoons that they stopped airing, so it was the only place you'd get to see them.
They also did bumpers for PBS Kids
I LOVED their hbo kids and disney junior packages, really sad to see them go
Rest in Peace Primal Screen 🥺
David Zaslav is a serial killer....of cartoons 😢😢😢
@lizebotha8783 Well Primal Screen did more than just work for Cartoon Network. They basically covered most kids channels.
*This has nothing to do with David Zaslav, relax.*
I saw a tweet about that and never heard about it until I saw it like I didn't know they had a partner studio
Aw, what?! Now who will animate the idents and bumpers or additonal animation for future content of the network?
Either Cartoon Network themselves, have a third-party animation studio or PBS Kids' animation team.
While this is sad, NO ONE has mentioned the closure of Radical Axis, formal partner studio responsible for Aqua Teen Hunger Force and CN City!
@christianvelez5608 Radical Axis was actually dissolved by the Secretary Of State of Georgia.
@@edtifaradical axis got shutdown by a company that is owned by the state of Georgia?
This is really upsetting to see... I would've loved to see the powerhouse era return, but I guess that opportunity is no more
PLEASE don't shut down Hanna-Barbera Studios either!!!

RIP in peace Primal Screen!
All things must be in balance, The Primal Screen may be shutting down, but in it's place a new studio will rise to fill the void,. such is the nature of balance
Somewhere in a parallel universe, Warner Bros. Never got rid of all those great shows from streaming platforms, Max is still called HBO Max, Cartoon Network still has its building, and Primal screen is still up and running.

Farewell, Primal Screen. You'll be in my memory. They were known and responsible for making bumpers, commercials, promos, and interstitials for Cartoon Network (Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, Fridays Opening, Powerhouse Era, Factory bumpers and shorts, 20th Anniversary, Redraw Your World, most for their Latin America and Brazil branches), Boomerang (Toys and 2014-2015 International Rebrand Bumpers), PBS Kids (Dot and Dash era), PBS Kids Sprout (launch era), Nickelodeon, and Nicktoons (TV channel).
I never even heard of this studio.
se cierra primal screen y sera remplazado por bumpers y anuncios en live action?
The fact they said that they said there are no longer excepting any new projects.
Makes me sweat from my eyeballs
Rest in peace, Primal Screen
I woulda thought he meant Hanna barbera studios Europe at least they are still standing. Wonder what Netflix does from here since I think they own primal screen
I sadly didn't even know this was a thing😮 But I feel like Cartoon Network as a whole I wouldn't be surprised if Warner Brothers completely shuts down especially now that Boomerang has become the new Cartoon Network which is sad because Boomerang was originally supposed to be for older cartoons mainly from Hanna-Barbera
