Coke had the opportunity to buy Pepsi in the world war 2 era due to the sugar rationing. However, Coke was receiving all the sugar they needed because they supplied the military with their product, and turned bankrupt Pepsi away thinking the weight of the situation would finally end their competition. How did that work for them?
Also, I remember when Burger King sold Pepsi, but then switched to Coke. I feel Pepsi bought all of those restaurants in order to have an excuse to serve Pepsi products. It hasn't really changed over the years.
I was eating Quaker Oats while watching this. I've been watching this guy's videos left and right lately, but this is the first time the "Bigger Than You Know" subject applied to me in the moment.
Have you been here to New Bern, NC? To see Caleb's pharmacy? You should, if not. I actually lived on Middle St (same as the pharmacy) just 2 blocks N. Lovely historical town.
I learn so much from you with all these videos. I love Pepsi and I love Coke but lately I find myself buying the Pepsi more often. I always tell myself that it's what I'm in the mood for
I worked for KFC back when they were owned by Pepsi. Then I moved and got to work for the only KFCs in the world not owned by Pepsi. And just like you say, they sold Coke so they wouldn't be supporting the competition, but also because Pepsi kept suing trying to revoke their franchise rights.
Just curious, was this outside of Charlotte near Carowinds? I remember the KFC there sold Coke products and it was very odd seeing the Coke branding covering the normal Pepsi logos.
I’ve now watched all of your videos! I’m not usually into this sort of thing, but the way you break down these companies is fascinating! Keep up the good work.
Pepsi is arguably the biggest player in the grocery store, perhaps the biggest player ever. Dominating snacks so that effectively they have an entire aisle in stores is huge. Add to that their sodas, flavored waters, etc. Then add in their restaurant holdings, manufacturing facilities, marketing, etc etc.
Hi pls say hi back Btw nice singing lol PS: Can we also talk about The time the Russians gave Pepsi 17 submarines, one frigate, one cruiser, and one destroyer for $3 Billion worth of Pepsi. making them the 6th biggest Military in the world
They didn't include it because it never happened. Pepsi was popular in Russia and they offered to pay with the money from some ships and submarines to be scrapped in India. The ships to be scrapped themselves wouldn't of even given them the worlds 6th largest navy.
This was really helpful, I had no knowledge that PepsiCo owned that many products. Now I will have Frito-Lay snacks when having a Pepsi. This helps me so much to know that Pepsi was doing better than Coke in so many ways, I can now teach this knowledge to others that love Pepsi just like me.
They have an agreement with Dr. Pepper/Snapple to market 7UP outside the US, it's not their brand, though. However, Sierra Mist is getting harder to find in stores now.
Thats a lie. They didnt have a navy, they owned used naval ships, no crew or sailors. They were used as payment from the soviets to be sold as scrap, which they were
While I no longer drink Pepsi cola, I do love their other sodas, esp Mountain Dew! Besides drinks, Pepsi owned Fritos-Lays (the chip snacks co) & used to own Pizza Hut, KFC, & Taco Bell until 1996 when they would spin off into a new company. Great one Company Man!
But Pepsi is still original recipe in u.s.? Here in Norway they recently removed half the sugar and added sweeteners. Atrocious. I suspect Norway is a small market and they're just testing it.

I love the disappointment when he mentions aunt jemima LMAO
I was eating Quaker Oats while watching this. I've been watching this guy's videos left and right lately, but this is the first time the "Bigger Than You Know" subject applied to me in the moment.
I'd like to see a Company Man company jingles compilation on iTunes.
Company man back with more on point content as usual
Pepsi is the only thing I live for. Pepsi gang rise up
To the Nazi flag, No Thanks..Pepsi SUCKS ASS
Have you been here to New Bern, NC? To see Caleb's pharmacy? You should, if not. I actually lived on Middle St (same as the pharmacy) just 2 blocks N. Lovely historical town.
4:42 Sierra Mist was discontinued on January, 2023, and the current lemon like as of 2024 is Starry.
I learn so much from you with all these videos. I love Pepsi and I love Coke but lately I find myself buying the Pepsi more often. I always tell myself that it's what I'm in the mood for
First day on the job as a drugdealer

"We don't have coke, is Pepsi ok?
Wow! I had no idea that Pepsi owned the world like Disney 😯
I'd love to see a deeper dive on Pepsi! Great video!
Pepsi have a partnership with Beyond Meat now to make plant based snacks, it just keeps on expanding!
I can't believe he didn't mention that time Pepsi took warships as payment from Russia
Yup. I work for Frito lay. Great company to work for and I had no idea how big they were until I got on board
As a Coca-Cola person, I want a “Bigger than you know” episode on Coca-Cola.
How about a Coke is Woker Than You Know episode? Of course Pepsi is also rather woke.
@@Rob-bo7yn like gillette, we're so woke we'll call our main customer base bad (Men).

Pepsi is better
They only have drinks
Fun Fact Pepsi Owned the 6th largest navy at one point
Most underrated fact of this decade. ⭕️
Hi pls say hi back
Btw nice singing lol
PS: Can we also talk about The time the Russians gave Pepsi 17 submarines, one frigate, one cruiser, and one destroyer for $3 Billion worth of Pepsi. making them the 6th biggest Military in the world
They should have keep the fleet to store Pepsi on 😆
Man, I ways get excited when these videos get released. _Let's learn about some soda_
You forgot the blurb about how PepsiCo became the 6th Largest Navy in the world for a very brief time.
Damned Russians!
They didn't include it because it never happened. Pepsi was popular in Russia and they offered to pay with the money from some ships and submarines to be scrapped in India. The ships to be scrapped themselves wouldn't of even given them the worlds 6th largest navy.
Really appreciate you singing the jingle for us man 😄
This was really helpful, I had no knowledge that PepsiCo owned that many products. Now I will have Frito-Lay snacks when having a Pepsi. This helps me so much to know that Pepsi was doing better than Coke in so many ways, I can now teach this knowledge to others that love Pepsi just like me.
What are you talking about? 7UP is actually offered by PepsiCo outside the US. So that's their equivalent for Sprite.
They have an agreement with Dr. Pepper/Snapple to market 7UP outside the US, it's not their brand, though. However, Sierra Mist is getting harder to find in stores now.
Can't forget the good old days when Pepsi had the world's 6th largest navy.

@@peppigue They're introducing a lot of reduced/sugar free product lines here in the states at the moment. Populations are big enough for them to keep a core consumer base and hope to grab the people who normally look elsewhere for healthy alternatives. It also helps that a lot of people who grew up drinking these sugary beverages can maybe return to drinking them without likening it to a guilty pleasure.

Great as always! The Wilson ball is back in the NBA starting this year, I never knew it was owned by Pepsi, cool.
Your singing was the best part of the video I will forever remember the Pepsi jingle lol
No Pepsiman video game reference? “Bigger than you know” totally reminded me of the level where you’re chased by a giant rolling Pepsi can.

I would like to know more, especially about Pepsi Next and Coke Life, along whatever You find out considering the qualities of Stevia.

Wow! Pepsi really is “Bigger Than You Know” 🤯
i used to hate Wednesdays but this channel made me love Wednesdays
I worked for Pepsi for 26 years. They are def bigger than most people realize.
Is the video true
most conglomerates are very bigger than people realize, the currente phase of capitalism has reached a level of scale and concentration unheard before.
Also at one point in Thier history they had the 5th largest Navy in the world
How is ur comment 23 hours ago but the video is only 5 min old
That's actually just a myth. The deal with the USSR never actually went through.
History Matters did a 2 minute video debunking that myth that's pretty good
@@fidaananver Company man might have a patreon and send members the link for early access
Nope, the deal with the soviets never went through and even if it would have it would have been very far away from being in the top 10 of largest Navys. History Matters made a good very short Video about it. ua-cam.com/video/nqCSxyudKHY/v-deo.html
Pepsi was created in my hometown of new Bern North Carolina, I’m a 5 minute walk from the original Pepsi creation location
My wife works for PepsiCo & I was shocked when I found out how large a company it is.

"Pepsi - The pure food drink!" That slogan needs to make a come back.
My dad was almost gonna get a Pepsi Zero tattoo and the he found out there was more things to get tattooed on him about Pepsi
If I recall correctly you couldn't buy Coca-Cola in the entire Soviet Union because Pepsi got an exclusive licensing deal. There was a lake called Peipsi and they sold a form of their soda under the name "Peipsi-Cola" for a time.
I manage a few retail stores owned by my family and I always knew the snacks and beverages Pepsi made, because the pepsi guys would deliver them. But I had no idea they owned Tropicana, Quaker oats, the cereal companies and some more.
This is an awesome episode. Company Man singing, AND we got a certified MUG Moment???? Awesome.
Company Man singing a retro Pepsi jingle is the wholesomeness I needed!
Before this, I was only aware of Pepsi owning Lays, which already makes Pepsi pretty large. After learning about the actual amount of companies that Pepsi owns / has owned, it made me realize how big the company actually is.
They were a military superpower at one time. Look that shit up it’s real.
So that's why I face disappointment when there is only coke at one restaurant but not pepsi and vice versa.
I haven't had a soda in sooo long that I never knew Slice was discontinued. I used to pour it over mint ice cream like a rootbeer float. It was surprisingly good.
Naked is one of my favorite juices, which I also can't drink anymore, because it has as much sugar as 2 bags of peanut M&Ms.
Not to mention, Naked uses formaldehyde to make some of their ingredients. I know that it chemically changes into harmless ingredients but it still weirds me out.
Isn’t naked just natural fruit sugars though?
