Come, people, to the sacred and immortal mystery, to the libation;
let us approach with fear and faith, with clean hands, let us share the office of penitence,
since the lamb of God was offered as a sacrifice to the father for us.
Let us worship Him alone, let us glorify Him, with the angel crying: Alleluia! Romans 10;8-13
Having received continuous criticism and questions, I'm forced to write an explanation about the title of this video;
The idea of an "Abandoned XYZ" is merely a fantasy idea, especially for people who love urban / rural exploration, architecture and history. This forms well with ancient structures, majority of which happened to be religious buildings. This video or any video going forward that states any kind of religious words is by no means meant to be a hurtful statement to anyone listening. Please don't turn it into a negative connotation where it doesn't need to be, especially where the intention is not as such. I'm surprised to find so many people miss the point of the video!
Anyhow, carry on and enjoy the chants that the humankind is blessed with, and I wish you all stay safe and stay well!
People love to be offended.
Absolutely gorgeous..I am a Gregorian chant fanatic..this hits the right spot with every note..extremely comforting and relaxing!More please!!!
@@cuatican Haha I know, right?! On the internet where you can be anything, the last thing anyone should be is offended xD
@@bernardharmse-kaalvoetdominee Yay, thank you! I have a LOT of similar ideas in mind to do going forward, especially very Enigma / Delerium style new-age pieces. That's pretty much what inspired this whole channel to begin with! Thank you for listening :D

Bring back Gregorian chants, as a Catholic I would love to hear them after receiving the Eucharist. And if this is good, imagine what Heaven sounds like
Have you heard about Traditional latin mass?
@@lukamarosevic2705 yesyesyesyes
Unfortunately, our musicians aren’t trained in this style any longer. We would need to return to classic Catholic education to properly hear, read and pronounce Latin, let alone chant it in tune.
I’ve even heard Latin Masses where the music isn’t this pleasant.
My diocese of Galveston Houston has training for chant, but sadly, no one attends the classes I’ve heard.
@@RGWerd83 Dang it :(
For those wondering, the cathedral in this photo is actually the Altemps Chapel in Rome. It was completed in 1587 to honor Pope Pius IV and how he "opened and closed" The Council of Trent, that's why it says "Aperuit et Clausit"
Spot on, and thank you very much for the info! I remember visiting so many cathedrals and chapels that I lost track of which one is which, despite of each structure having its own unique detail.
Thanks so much for the video I truly love it!!! Thank you also for saying where it is because i was wondering.

Sad to say, two of my parishioners died this week, and I have this lovely music playing in the background as I write their funeral Mass homilies. Thank you for the inspiration!

Very humbled to hear the video was part of the funeral. Hope you're doing okay. ♥️
You can never be lost in a cathedral or a church, you just need to look towards the Holy Sacrament and you’ll see the way to your life!
Always felt so fascinated by Gregorian chants. This is beautiful.

This is genuinely sacred, and as a Christian myself I will attest that this is far superior especially to the recycled

Amen to that 🙏
You might enjoy Stryper's new material which, after 35 years of continued writing, is some of their best ever. Blood From Above is a personal favorite.
It's sad how these groups so rip on the Catholic Church yet unintentionally try so hard to replicate the experience of it, as in using music to bring "the Spirit" into the "house". I don't think I've ever met anyone who genuinely feels the Holy Spirit in a mega-church, it's just a rock and roll affect more similar to how people reacted to the Beatles than to the actual presence of God. They're trying, their judgment shows, but we should pray not only for them but for the Church to live up to the power it possesses, which it does not. These kinds of chants are not just us breathing God's breath back to Him, but harmony with Him.
@@Awakeningspirit20: I for one am inclined to agree with you, which is why I have only that sort

Think of it as the frequency of God as the undercurrent of all things... even the creator agrees haha. It holds all things together and dwells in all things, yet exists without all things. When words' resonance fades, its does not.
That's actually a pretty great take, love the philosophical angle on it!
"The voices of the followers flow throughout the cathedral once more. Though they have all passed along to their god, the mark and legacy they have left upon this world will echo forevermore. And even as spirits, their faith still shakes the world. That haunting choir, *Their final prayers before returning to the ash from whence they came.* "
That’s beautiful, thank you for this!

Glory to me when I was born, living and when I die .. those who disbelieve in me shall suffer my wrath upon their souls
This is really beautiful sound.
I have created a short story to this sound and the title which had inspired me to write this : "It is 20 years since the pandemic has begun. All the world has become harsh place to live and it becomes abandoned. Infected people attack to everyone non-infected and non-infected people struggle to survive.
I have entered to the abandoned cathedral. I can see there some Latin text engraved into the wall of the cathedral and some plants start to grow around it. This place supposed to be quiet, but I can hear some strange sounds. It sounds like monks are singing some text from the Bible in Latin, but nobody was there. Maybe I am hallucinating or something else. No one is there but I can hear it very clear. Nevertheless it makes me calm and comfortable and I want to stay in this cathedral and I feel some kind of protection from this harsh and brutal world."
Thank you for the great Gregorian Chant.
That’s actually beautiful, I hope a film maker or someone can turn this into an actual video!
Thank you!

Beautiful thought!
The soul or the heart?
I am a believer of past lives, and with any gregorian chant I've ever heard in entire life I am always transported this is heaven this is the very top top for me
I have long believed, and I think it's a more widely belief now, that we (our spirit / soul) existed in Heaven, prior to CHOOSING to come to Earth for this "experience". It's what we do here, in regard to our relationship with King Jesus (or lack thereof) that shall discern where we go for eternity.
I am glad to see there are other Christians out there who don't rule out what others do. I am not entirely sure about past lives but I do believe and feel chakras and they have helped me in my faith. Modern Christianity is a result partially of the purges of "heresies" as well as post-Reformation beliefs. I will say I did, in a museum, see a statue of African slaves and felt like an extremely strong past-life pull towards that. I believe in a lot of un-orthodox things that other Christians would not allow themselves to. I feel like being that pent-up and dogmatic makes them miss out on a lot of the faith, or they're just normal and simple enough to take the faith exactly as-dictated. I am not, I can not, I wouldn't and didn't believe in Jesus the way the faith was laid out. Only through my unique journey have I. I am an Indigo Soul and believe in these sorts of things, I don't think it is demonic and evil. That would mean basically that I am demonic and evil, born as such, and I just can't see that as the truth, not with the way I've come to God.
I am a spiritualist in fact but that still doesn't stop me from listening to great music such as in this one video
A lot of people believe they have chakras, 7 of them. And they'll even compare it to when Mary Magdalene got delivered. She did not get delivered from 7 chakras she got delivered from 7 demonic spirits. What you believe in is called witchcraft. It's called paganistic ritualistic idolatry. It's believing in something completely false. Putting your faith into something. And when they do chakra balancing over you with the pendulum crystal, when it goes counter clockwise or clockwise. You know what it is? That is a demonic spirit fooling you, deceiving you. And you giving it legal right through your idolatry through witchcraft for it to enter into you. To all these people who have had chakra balance. it never happens. You got to keep on going and all the breath work. Jesus Christ is Lord. The Bible says satan is the prince of principality of the air ways(This is about the person who said Spiritualist). "When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, do not learn to imitate the detestable ways of the nations there. Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord." - (Deuteronomy 18:9-12 NIV). For you to be spiritual, you have to be worshiping some sort of spirit. Whatever experience you've had, it came from satan. The Bible says man has 1 time to die and then Judgment. To be absent from the body and to be present to the Lord. God teaches us this, when anyone wants to detach from God and wants to become their own god, " I make my own reasoning I do this etc" is because you are lost in your sin bro. And thats what it comes down to. I'm not trying to hate or anything I am just warning you from the wrath to come. Repent, seek Jesus Christ. Other than that amen to you 3 in this comment section.

Thank you for listening!
Are there any lyrics for this one or at least a song list? There's so much reverb and I don't know enough Latin to make out what the monks are singing, and I'm really curious to know what they're singing. The reverb seems to be creating harmonies out of whole cloth and I'm also wondering if the specific song was chosen for that or if it's a happy accident?
That is pretty interesting, not sure. I heard "Gloria" while listening but thats all i could make out.
Venite, populi, ad sacrum et inmortale misterium, ad libamen agendum;
cum timore et fide accedamus, manibus mundis, penitentiae munus communicemus,
quoniam agnus dei propter nos patri sacrificium praepositum est.
Ipsum solum adoremus, ipsum glorificemus, cum angelus clamantes: alleluia!
Just posted the lyrics below; :)
The reverb is very much intentional, creates a spacey ambience, and its layered with a modern synth pad sound that's filtering out the high frequencies. Very "Enigma" type of a feeling, one of my biggest inspirations and reasons of getting into Gregorian chants! (Gallican Chant, in this specific case)
It was more an experiment / happy accident that the original hymn / song "Ad communicandum" gallican chant.
Hope that helps!

@@andromedazen Finally, someone who gets it! :D
Cathedrals differ from many other types of ancient and medieval buildings (such as castles or ancient temples) in that they are not abandoned and are still used for their original purpose: a place for the worship of God and the seat of the local bishop. A nice video with good ambience, but the notion is a bit odd.
Thank you!
I feel like a lot of people are either taking it offensively or misunderstanding the notion; its merely a fantasy to explore ancient abandoned structures, and even better when it has a religious significance as those buildings tend to be older and full of history to it. Plenty of churches, cathedrals, abbeys, monasteries etc have been abandoned in the past. That’s not to incite any negativity in any kind, its only just to dream of a fantasy that you - the viewer - are exploring one that’s been abandoned. Think Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Indiana Jones. Plenty of references in those games, movies about something like this.
And yet, in this abandoned cathedral, there are monks hanging out there to keep the ambiance running... 😂😂😂
They’re the super cool monks who were appointed to keep the ambience going 😎
@@Dreamambiencemusic Thanks for your reply and God bless the monks for their devotion! 😀
