Carl Verheyen is getting some killer sounds from his Kemper and you can too! Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more videos like this one!
Sweetwater, whoever is in charge with the UA-cam channel and all, I've bought some drum stuff including some neil peart drum sticks to a new zildjian cymbal and all I say is sweetwater is definitely really sweet when it comes to deals and the gear you need and so far whatever I've bought from sweetwater and the team behind it has definitely got my customer respect. Thank you for being the best no 1. :)
Me too, although I've seen his name in the past, and likely heard his playing unknowingly, I've never actually watched him play before. Found him at a Norm's video today, then came here next - he sure can play, and seems like a good guy!
To me since I first heard modeled guitars and amp they haven't changed. They are good for bright sounding guitars or amp sounds and they don't sound clear and defined for darker sounds. Maybe it's like trying to record Bosendorfer pianos they don't record well. Yes they are VERY full, overtone rich sounding pianos for live, but mic them and they're muddy. Maybe same sampling dark guitar sounds all the gain and overtones just don't sample well.
I agree, I have one,all guitars sound the same. The effects are great. But the feel when you play is digital. I’m a blues player. When I switch to my fender champ I say” thank god”
The Ukraine situation and Russian sanctions is going to hit the tube market hard, but MAYBE (?) the prices for tubes will go up so high it will be a catalyst for production in the USA again? My understanding is the only thing that kept tube manufacturing in the USA to happen again is the profits were too low, but the Russian and Chinese tube manufacturers must have been making a profit. I know labor is less over there, but so much is automated now, maybe the big amplifier manufacturers will get together and finance a tube manufacturing facility in the USA again. Can you imagine having excellent tubes made again, equal to the old RCA, Mullard, etc. quality? Environmental regulations are mentioned, but they shouldn't keep it from happening, it just adds to the manufacturing cost. Germany is so far ahead of the USA in manufacturing technology, they will likely be the country were tube manufacturing happens again, or maybe Japan? I hope the USA does it though, the technology is available, and if anything we should be able to make better tubes now, with computer manufacturing technologies. In the short term tube prices are going to go way up, so I'm thinking of stocking-up on the basics, maybe some NOS too. After changing speakers, guitar wiring and pickups, changing tubes may be the most useful way to improve your tone? I've never gotten into tubes much in the past, just let my amp techs put in what they recommended, but now I'm getting more educated about the subject. I know RCA backplate and Mullard are often mentioned with lust, and others........
@@bouleamythe same here! My friend tried to convince me to go for Helix and its convenience. Yup, it's handy. But I had same "thank god" exp when we switched to tube Suhr and TwoRock :)
@@pharmerdavid1432 digital toys make it easier, but with the situation in Ukraine, having tubes from Russia is not my biggest concertn - I live in Poland... Perspectives seems to be better now than in the beginning of the war, but you can never sleep safe when you have psycho maniac holdling keys for nukes...
It still sounds fake. Useful in a particular way as all tones can be for certain parts in some songs depending on the player and what they need. But it's a stereo phonic copy of a tube amp. If you're a Jack of all tones kind of player who uses a wide variety of tones cause you do a lot of session and gigging work and need lots of different tones, than cool. But if you're more of an originals player playing in your original band or a songwriter looking for a unique tone, then find the right tube amp for yourself. It's like a good ribeye steak compared to a fake steak grown in a lab.
I wouldn't go so far as to call it "fake" or "plastic" sounding, but tubes are more"musical", "organic", and "warmer". All my amps use tubes, never owned a solid state amp, except a McIntosh integrated amp I had for my stereo back in the 1970's (it was new at the time - supposedly better than tubes), but I'm getting McIntosh tube pre-amp and amp for my next stereo, and a record player - records sound so much better than digital, plus you get frequencies you can't hear that have a healing effect (assuming the music is healing music).

Thanks so much for the kind words, Andrew! 😃👍
I love watching Don as Carl is playing. he's probably saying in his head..."AHHHH...I'm stealing THAT lick!" Especially at the end jam out.
I must have this in my studio! I don't play guitar, but still... that's how good this sounds.
It's a pleasure watching Carl play.
I am ashamed I haven’t heard of this guy already. Superb phrasing!
Those tones are exceptionally good. Wonderful!

Carl was my favorite teacher at M.I.
Wow Carl always sounds so amazing especially that LP tone! Fractal really fd up by letting the kemper folks get him before they could!!
Sounds so clear and full which like as a guitar composer for book trailers about comics. Love the passionate playing for the demoing!
i loved working with carl verheyen & mark in studio

@@fatsosb6379 lol! I think it was an accident. The most funny part is that is in Brazilian Portuguese. So you can’t understand nothing. Neither me.
Professional guitarist indeed.
Is this much better than guitar rig or eleven rack?
I have one. It’s a Great studio amp. I use a Marshall with my band...
Carl is my Idol...
Carl is a beast
Did the kemper go into the scarlett 2i2 in this video?
I like those tones and even more shake hands at the end :) Normal people :)
Some of the older musicians still have some class - eh?
Great player.
Sold!
Whoever gave this thumbs down has to be tone deaf.....this was amazing.
Supreme
that's how you make money as a guitarist today

Nonsense. Go buy a kemper. If toucan get EVERY sound you want...its not the gear
Want to hear something different??? Don’t tell what to do. 😏 cringe 😬 moment.
session musician joke,
it's a fantasy they have
because they always have to do exactly what the client asks for
Just a studio musician joke.
Amaaazing player, but still crappy digital sound. Handy - for sure, but it's still miles away from tube experiance.

I farted on this amp once.
