@@LBdreamin My sister owns 2 bearded dragon. They have a designated pooping spot and they will run to that spot to do their thing. They will throw a fit if they need to poop and you are stopping them from going there.
@@LBdreaminthey self train poop habits and only do it every few days.
Help them find a pattern they like and watch for signs. A black beard while in her cage usually means my girl is holding it and doesn't want to stink her cage up.
Every time a watch videos about Bearded Dragons, my desire to have one increases!

@@john-sp8jk Depends on the species, the owner and individual temperament.
Some lizards are larger, have sharper claws, stronger bites and nastier temperaments. Some are more hands-off than others. Iguanas are notorious for tail whipping their owners hard when in a bad mood.
Anoles are physically incapable of causing harm given their size and bite force.
Beardies are capable of biting hard, but they are reluctant to do so, and when they eat, they eat "tongue first," so they use a short, but sticky tongue to grab onto food and take it into their mouths. They can have sharp claws, but if they're kept on a trimming schedule and have access to stones or tiles to keep them filed down, you don't have to worry about that.
The research and care you put into an animal will reflect in their longevity, temperament and owner safety.

I had a dragon named stumpy. I got him when he was 3 after being found in a partially wet tank in a pet store that had been closed for over a month. He was surrounded by other animals that had passes. He lost several toes and his tail hence the name. They told me due to all the trauma he wouldn't live to more than 6 or 7.He was my best friend. I had him until he was almost 14 years old and I still cry over him all the time. They are the best pets. We would do the head bob back and forth. He would come when I called him and he was hilarious eating crickets and worms. I miss you big guy❤❤❤

That's horrible. I can't believe they would just leave the animals there and neglect them if the store closed. It probably only lived because it was a bearded dragon and I'm no expert but I don't think they require much food and water and can go for long periods of time without.
This tragically happens way way too often, and the previous owners never legally pay for their neglect @@ephgm

They eat them in the wild.
They'll climb trees and knock them down for their squad when they roll together at times 20 or more deep.
They'll often zig zag criss cross eachother running to confuse predators.
That's a cool lizard. Never seen anyone walk one. He seemed to luv it.

They like running around and jumping on stuff and going outside. Gotta be careful not to let them eat bugs outside because of parasites.

Beardies are sooo cool. I've had snakes and lizards. People never believe that they are silly, smart, and affectionate, but they really can be. Getting love from a mini dinosaur is a guarantee mood lifter for sure ❤.

I work with bearded dragons and they are so personable and yes they do tend to act like dogs😂

@@vetalverson7401I think it's partly that but I feel like they're just a naturally very curious and friendly species.
@@vetalverson7401I got mine when she was 7 and she was so social and lovely. I managed to teach her to give me a paw, like that dog trick. If I was away and my sister took care of her, she would eat like normal but she wasn't as social with her. When she heard my voice, she always ran to me, so I could pick her up.
Bearded dragons are the friendliest reptiles
If I had a bearded dragon, I'd have to name it Fluffy.
My sister had a pet boa constrictor and she named it Fluffy. She thought it was so inappropriate it went full circle and became appropriate! A few years later she and our mom adopted a California Desert tortoise and named it Fluffy the Second!

I went over to a friend’s house once and they had a beardie. They put him on my arm and he just sorta stayed there and sat while I chilled on their couch. He even fell asleep!! Love these little guys so much. 😂❤

@@corydean707But it was also the easiest to clean of all of the pets I've ever owned. She pooped in the bath, so the smell couldn't spread that much in the water and I didn't even have to touch the poop, as I just threw the water in the toilet from the baby tub.

Reptiles can be very affectionate with their owners, i adopted a rattlesnake egg and raised him, his name was Spot and he would wrap himself around my arm and just chill there and i trained him to shake his rattle when i was playing guitar, took me 2 years and several bites but it was worth it

Bearded Dragons are among the most intelligent reptiles. They're also unique in that they grow attached to their person & do show beardie affection. They're very sweet & funny.

I actually met a Desert Storm vet who had a Bearded Dragon as a service animal. He suffered a TBI and his Beardie would (IIRC) help him cope with the seizures he would occasionally have.

I tell a lot of my customers that beardies are like a flat football running around your house that act like a dog. That usually helps them get a better picture. 🤣
