Having a bunch of newcomers to the setting is really exciting! 40k is so old and expansive, it's sometimes prone to always falling back on the same few tropes, in-jokes, and story segments. Having some new perspectives to shake things up is going to be a big plus!
@@AdventuresinLollygagging - it's a bit of a hard sell, because the system requires a lot of 'buy in' from the players. But it's totally worth it. We've not actually played it as yet, but it's one of those games where I want to make sure I pick up all of the supplementary books. It feels like a very cool approach to 40K.
I'm STOKED for this. I've been playing since Rogue Trader (the minis game) and have 10+ armies. My fiction collection includes hundreds of novels going back to Ian Watson's Inquisition War books as well. I've run many campaigns in the original Dark Heresy rpg system. Can't wait to see what you all pull off!
Just to help Selena and Ashley I recommend reading the Warhammer Adventure books to learn the setting. Easy + you can listen to David Tennant on the audio version. Aaron...may I suggest one idea for your story? In Warhammer, there is a certain hyper intelligent ape with a propensity for digi weapons. Do you think one of these creatures be lurking in your fabled space hulk?
I just figured since Aaron has been rocking playing a dog on werewolf, Jokaero seemed like a next logical step. Meanwhile Jeff can start looking forward to his future as a chaos spawn. (GL with corruption tests lol!)
Kind of confused. Shouldn't the GM make those space hulk rolls in private during game prep? I felt like it broke immersion (in advance) and gave up the mystery of exploring the ship. Just my 2 cents.
Meh'lindi is NOT a death cult assassin She is a member of the calidus assassin of the officio assassinorium She is a perfectly crafted katana A death cult assassin is a shiv made from a chicken bone to stab your cellmate The two are NOT the same thing
All space elves have the same problem on death their souls are eaten by Slaanesh. The craftworkers cheat this fate by soul stones. The Drukari tried retreating to the webway and found this slowed down but did not halt their consumption, so they use other creatures to “refill” their souls.

I love the mix of our group. A couple newbies, a couple veterans, folks in-between. Definitely looking forward to getting back to this.
the lollygaggers, dipping their toes in 40k!? i couldn't click fast enough!
I am looking forward to this campaign, too!
Right on! Thankfully we have Aaron to guide us. Really looking forward to digging into WH40K.
Agreed! Guant's Ghosts or the Eisenhorn series is the best place to start with 40k books
Right on!
The Gaunt's Ghosts books are amazing!
Really looking forward to watching you guys play through this! Wrath & Glory doesn't get nearly enough love when it comes to APs!
Thanks for watching! We are going to try and do the system justice.
Very excited to dig into this! I'm not much of a wargamer, so really excited to approach WH40K from a ttrpg perspective.

Great job, I’m hooked
Thank you!

Awesome! I'm very, very excited to get into the campaign!
10 armies?
wow!
i thought i was doing good with just two.
@@robertlogan5354 hobbying is different for everyone my friend. I bet you love the hell out of your armies and that's what matters most. ❤️
Based on what I know about this crew, I think the Ciaphus Cain novels would be perfect.
I love the Ciaphus Cane books!
I haven't read any WH40K novels yet, but I'll try to carve out some to give one or two a read!
Ciaphus Caine is like Blackadder in the 40k universe. Or Flashman.
@@johntailby74 I really like Sandy Mitchell's Warhammer 40k novels. Did you read his Inquisition duology (that should have been a trilogy)?
Yes I have those and the original Jac Draco trilogy, which really jumped the shark.
Ian Watson, Aaron? You are dragging folks to some dark and bizarre places 😂.
We would expect nothing less, haha!
This is true! Watson is what got me hooked on 40k way back in the day.

A Jokaero weaponsmith... I like the way you think!
That’s right, highly likely to get purified in holy fire.

@JohnsRimworld Jeff as a Chaos Spawn does have a nice ring to it...
Thanks for the reading suggestion! David Tennant is a major draw, for sure.
Everything is Heresy! That is all you need to know.
Haha! 100%
Yes, inquisitor, this series right here.
Thanks for checking it out!
Death to the false Emporer! I mean, good luck loyalists!
All praise to the Omnissiah! His eyes are ever upon us.
Is that an Ordo Hereticus warband coming up on your six...? Hahaha! Thanks for watching!
I believe I should say... HERETIC
Also the new Dan Abnett's Pariah Trilogy is great.
Another one for the reading list!
I have been really enjoying it too.
Point of lore correction for Aaron, Chaos are the good guys and the Imperium are the bad guys! 👍🏻
😮 Mind. Blown.
@@AdventuresinLollygagging here, I have a very informative pamphlet for you if you'd like to learn more about the ruinous powers.......
Hahaha! I knew may favorite Chaos cultist would begin his insidious conversion campaign!
Well, you don’t see people defecting from chaos to the imperium.
I can’t lie to you about your chances……. But you have my sympathies.
Warhammer 40k definitely puts the "grim" in grimdark! 😂
Wait, so there's NOT going to be a happy ending?
There will be a happy ending, it just might not be for you.
The tech priests believe the omnisiah is the avatar of the machine god
Yes.
I played the games first but they got me into the books
Right on. I know Justin has been digging back into them since we started up the campaign.
I had all the ebooks at one point on a flash drive but that got taken from me. I mean literally all of them.@@AdventuresinLollygagging

Nah, it was fine. Plenty of mystery still to be had.
Normally, I would agree, but this was more about allowing for audience participation for our "training" mission.

I dispute Drukari being described as chaos infected.
That is a good point, I should have said utterly corrupted, but they are not, in fact, Chaos worshippers. Good catch.

I know nothing, Jon Snow.
