  • As an adult who didn't learn to play a musical instrument as a child, lately I've been trying to teach myself how to read music and learn instruments from scratch.
Every so often I try to put a piece of music together to kind of chart my progress, I suppose! This time, I thought i'd have a stab at the folk classic 'House of the Rising Sun.'

Great video! What size ukulele are you playing in the beginning?

And here I‘m playing 7 instruments and making music my whole life but I could never put together a video like this. This is art and absolutely crazy that you’re able to play like this after this short period. Love your channel. Greetings from Germany.

This is really COOL! Love that song from when I was a kid. Great interpretation you did.
You can also do the theme to Gilligan's Island to that music. Would probably change the tone of the video though...

Very nice. I couldn't play this in the same key on my alto because of the low E. But I enjoy playing it on my alto in the key of D minor, which uses the same fingerings as you.

I particularly liked the sunflowers thread throughout. My gosh, it must have taken ages to put together. Well done ! But the end result is always so much fun. You can look at it and think "That was definitely worth the effort". It is lovely 🙂

Comment #24! Analytics are 'really' movin now, 1:58 - heres a story 4 u, back in, 1982 my US Navy ship was doin a 'port visit' and my (friend) asked me to play this on my 12-string. Dig this, this was the only song I knew! Irony? No weigh, I pulled it off OK best as eye recall, she was happy, we were happy!
As ever another great video, all the personal touches, jeez you work hard, knot two mention being a musikant also. Much respect.

Cool . . . or not cool given that it's a song about the Sun, but you know what I mean. Goodness you've really mastered your cornucopia of instruments, nice job. As for the video, super dooper, so clever, creative and funny. I'm thinking of using Krita to make animations for my songs, it will be great in twelve years time 😏 Quite the learning curve. Great job, loved it, well done !

Great playing, but I think your "New Orleans" down below, there, needs a bit of work! 😂

I really enjoyed this version of "The House of rising sun". Eric Burdon would be proud of It. The intro with ukulele is touching, the tenor recorder has a sweet and velvety sound... It looks like a clarinet. The video is also nice. Thanks for your music. Congratulations from Italy. 🎶🎵👍
