There's already another sentence by the same judge being questioned. Another military man who beat his former girlfriend up and got a fully suspended sentence
There's also another issue with the leniency here. She was standing up for others that were being targeted. This sentence (or lack of) makes people be bystander instead of speaking up.
No, it's alawys been the same. Ireland has always had the most lenient laws in the world for aggravated assault. Ireland recognizes the right of a person being spoken to poorly to give the person a punch and not get punished. If you ha é a pregnant wife and someone makes a lewd comment about her, in Ireland you have a god given right to snap a shovel over their back. You won't get punished. The problem for a bystander is of they enter the argument and go over and tell someone being abusive to others to shut up, they are now aggravating the original person. The person he was shouting abuse at had a right to knock him out or leave. A bystander has the right to either get ready to fight or stay out of it.. you should have learned as a kid how to stay on the right side of the law. If your friend is getting abusive shouts, you push them behind you and wait until you get shouted at too. Now you have been aggravated. You're only allowed be aggravated on behalf of family members getting abused. It's really really easy to navigate. I don't know where Irish people got the belief they can just interject in an argument and be aggravating to the side they don't like and have the cops chuck the person in jail. In this case you agree with her stance, but let's reverse it. A gay guy has been called a name, he's aggravated, he's shouting at a girl all sorts. I join in on the girls side, tell him to shut up. You saying he should have to do what I say? He shouldn't be allowed to stand his ground? Me as a bystander I can just join in and aggravate him more and it's fine? Do you see how this will end? He will go to jail if I get deeper and deeper involved in the argument?

Misogyny within the judicial service. Women routinely treated as if they are being hysterical or exaggerating. The fact that the perp is a soldier makes it all the more frightening- as if that made the court more lenient, not less as should be.

Good man Garron. Well said and what an amazing young woman Natasha is. She makes me proud to be Irish. I hope the country really gets behind her and sends a strong signal to those who think violence and intimidation are in any way acceptable forms of behaviour. The whole sentencing thing reminded me of the Michael Flynn murder case back in the early 80s when a group of young men homophonically attacked and killed a 31 year old gay man. They were all given suspended sentences. Two of those guys were in the defence forces as well, but the Air Corp had the good sense to chuck them out. One of them later went on to rape a pregnant woman, breaking into her home when her husband was at work and giving her the option of being raped or being kicked in the stomach. That was a shameful moment from our past. This simply has to be a watershed moment where we draw a line and say no more. No one should have to live in fear in modern Ireland. Women are well able to speak for themselves, but maybe as men, more of us need to step up and tell other men that violence and disrespect for others is beneath contempt and we're not having it. If any movement gets going behind Natasha, I'm definitely willing to chuck a few quid in, march, hold a banner, whatever it takes.
This judge is as vile as the person who carried out this attack, he should be sacked from his role as its clear he is incompetent and devoid of empathy. Everyone deserves to be safe from these disgusting and inhuman people. Thinking of Natasha, her bravery and of all innocent victims of violence.
One has to wonder why this judge let him off? This has to be sorted. Why why why was he not imprisoned???? Fuck his job. He is guilty. Go to prison. What is happening to our country? Thanks Garron. You are right...
How can this case go back to court? I don’t know Irish law. In the US, you can’t be tried twice for the same charge. Perhaps there’s another act associated with the same incident that wasn’t addressed?
The leniency comes from the government trying to protect the foreign people who are the ones who are committing the most violent crimes… same in England and of course the rest of Europe. The prisons are now bursting with people who were not born in Europe or have parents that were not born here. This may have been committed by a white person and Irish native but the leniency is mainly to protect the newcomers as they are becoming an embarrassment to the Lefties. Rather than admit the problem they are pretending it isn’t happening…. Of course this means we all suffer a lawless society.
Well said Garron, it has shocked the nation and am glad to see men, proper men, calling this out. Father to daughters myself, DPP has to appeal the sentence, in the nations interest.
It shouldn't have shocked us, this normal. Tourists get beaten up. Young women get maimed. LGBT people get chased by knife wielding teens... Irish judges are incredibly soft on violent criminals.
The judge should share the cell with him. Why did nt the lads that he was in company with try and stop him? They are just as guilty. Thank you Garron, if only the rest was as gentleman as you we could all walk the streetd in peace.
Didn’t knew about it and, as a woman, sadly not surprised. Yea we don’t want that kind of upstanding citizen to loose a job where he *check notes* has to carry a gun.

🥰 me, too. Thank you.
As a female ,I thank you ❤
This judge is as vile as the person who carried out this attack, he should be sacked from his role as its clear he is incompetent and devoid of empathy. Everyone deserves to be safe from these disgusting and inhuman people.
Thinking of Natasha, her bravery and of all innocent victims of violence.
100% agree. My heart breaks for this girl.
One has to wonder why this judge let him off? This has to be sorted. Why why why was he not imprisoned???? Fuck his job. He is guilty. Go to prison. What is happening to our country? Thanks Garron. You are right...
The judge is up for retirement soon
@@DavidKenny-nm1qySo fuckin what? Give me his name and I’ll sort this out
@philipmckeon8944 it's in the news paper lol
I wonder how the judge woul feel if it was his daughter.@DavidKenny-nm1qy
It’s very strange how the judge has let him go.
So is there more to this story.
I can’t believe no sentence
Well said Garron Justice for the victims!!
Thank you for speaking out, Garron.
He's been kicked out of the Irish Army.
Let's hope the case returns to court and he gets a few years in the slammer.
How can this case go back to court? I don’t know Irish law. In the US, you can’t be tried twice for the same charge. Perhaps there’s another act associated with the same incident that wasn’t addressed?
Garron thanks..thank you because to hear a male voice supporting the women of Ireland it really deos mean alot xx
So I take it you couldn't have cared less if the victim were a man?
@@geordiewishart1683 what are you a dose. How on earth did you come up with that Jesus Christ reading comprehension is a must
The leniency comes from the government trying to protect the foreign people who are the ones who are committing the most violent crimes… same in England and of course the rest of Europe.
@@geordiewishart1683 There you are again. Go home will ya.
I00 % agreed in what you said , well done 👏
Well said Garron, it has shocked the nation and am glad to see men, proper men, calling this out. Father to daughters myself, DPP has to appeal the sentence, in the nations interest.
It shouldn't have shocked us, this normal. Tourists get beaten up. Young women get maimed. LGBT people get chased by knife wielding teens... Irish judges are incredibly soft on violent criminals.
Thank you Garron, nothing will change unless men call out their own for this type of thing. Well done, your delicious 😃
The judge should share the cell with him.
Why did nt the lads that he was in company with try and stop him? They are just as guilty.
Thank you Garron, if only the rest was as gentleman as you we could all walk the streetd in peace.
Thank you, Garron. 🙌🙌🙌
You are the bee's knees, Garron. Thank you for always using your platform for good proving that you are, in fact, delicious! ❤
Enjoy all your funny work. This is so important, thank you for speaking out about this. He’s a total evil scumbag. Sack him and imprison him ASAP
I truly adore you, Garron. You're the best of us and I love that you say it like it is and stand up for what's right.
Didn’t knew about it and, as a woman, sadly not surprised. Yea we don’t want that kind of upstanding citizen to loose a job where he *check notes* has to carry a gun.
My heart goes out to Ireland.
Thank you. We need it. 💚
Ashamed to be Irish 😢
@@karenmcc2197 Don't be ashamed of being Irish. I don't believe every Irish person is like those who cause problems. I don't even know that much about Ireland except that it's culture and music are something I have been interested in, especially since I have Irish blood in me. I love to visit Ireland and get to know people there and more of the Irish culture. I have been interested in also writing stories based on the culture of the Emerald Coast, so I'm not gonna start any accusations. Be proud of being Irish. I doubt all of Ireland are the same and I'd rather not judge everyone just because someone there did something most of us all over the world wouldn't be proud of in the first place. I'm sending you universal blessings and a hug. Don't worry about me, because I believe most of us are sane people no matter how chaotic the world may seem.
@@karenmcc2197. Eeeh,,? Why??
@@karenmcc2197. I'm very very proud to be Irish...☘️
US here: Totally agree with you; what a total pos who should have been sentenced to jail. This guy is going to continue with this violent behavior.
The new country we live in. Good for you garron for bringing this to our attention. We love you.
So important that you speak out! I am shocked about how Ireland have handled this. This needs to be known world over!
No, sorry now this isn't Ireland, this is an out of touch judge, don't pull the country into it
What was the judge thinking?. Shameful
Apparently, he wasn't.
The judge was thinking he shouldn't lose his job in the army, he's just the guy we should give a gun to, or have power over other soldiers.
Who gets an exemplary record in the army at 24? Defence forces need to be investigated too!
Exactly Garron. There needs to be an audit on criminals loose on our streets. The law is a complete, indisputable, whopping ass.
Well said Garron, impressed with you for speaking out so powerfully !
Well said Garron. This just makes you more delicious.
Totally 100% yummy!
@@sasharey9160yep.
Thanks Garron. This means alot. Sometimes we have to be serious about justice and truth .
Well said darling, well said. ❤
It’s unbelievable how crimes like this go unpunished, but it’s probably down to them wanting to clear backlogs of cases by trying to close them without going to trial. Bloody disgraceful, I hope Natasha gets the justice she deserves
I don't think you understand.
The offender pled guilty.
There was no trial.
The only court time taken up was in passing sentence.
It would have been the same time used if the judge had imprisoned the assailant.
Maybe you should take time to think before you just criticise?
@@geordiewishart1683 I think you must know the offender, or even are him! You have written a fair few comments arguing with what people are commenting. It's a pity you'll never feel the threat women feel!!! Cop on.
@@geordiewishart1683there was a trial smart man, crotty testified,so did the victim,so did a commandant from the army plus other character witnesses,or maybe you don't know what a trial is.
@@geordiewishart1683I hope everything is OK
Absolutely he should be in prison, but the thing that really shocked me is that he didn't even lose his job. Why on earth should he be able to continue to be in the army after this? He clearly can't be trusted to wield any amount of power or authority. Thanks for the video!
So he can violate human rights wherever he is stationed.
Garrán mate i am glad to see you talking about stuff like this and using your platform for good. It makes me love your content and you as a person even more than I do already.
Fair play to you for this
That woman is a brave woman and I hope she gets justice for her ordeal and the judge should be ashamed of herself
The judge is male.
You are 100% correct.( I follow u and love all your pists) you always hit the nail on the head.
